A great video. Thank you.
Something always drew me to the UP they are right it's got to be in the DNA my father owned a lot of land somewhere in the UP unfortunately I was only a young child when I was moved away in the 60s I returned to retire and love it up here!!! As far as the land? It was sold by a sister I never met till recently she knew I existed but wouldn't give me any of it she wanted to live like she was raised in Beverly hills 😢 oh well I now own a house in the UP and I'm here to stay I will do everything possible to make sure of that . Such good people up here it's not for everyone you have to tolerate the snow and cold in a special way that not everyone can do. I was in Florida for a few years working and hated every minute of it no seasons.
Can we go back?
Great barber and the best father he was my dad
Amazing! The barber shop was one our first stops in Crystal Falls. Will always enjoy this project!
Awesome
@6:20 pay attention. @ 6:40 REALLY PAY ATTENTION. The beginning of corruption at its finest. Mimicking the Lord god in heaven. ‘if god is on your side who can be against you’? Funny how as I typed this that the predicted words knew what I would say. 🙏🏻😇. Gods word. It was written already Amen. So let be done.
Cometica park is ass
Who were the loggers in the video?
I was born in iron mountain grandma lived in crystal falls cousins all over amasa and such we moved south but I spent the last 2 years or so working out of Kingsford and just loved it go back all the time now I remember the diamond drill when I was a kid. Great video
They didn't even mention the UFOs that come over the U.P.
I will forever cherish the memories I have of attending Tiger games during the summer of 1977 while I worked at The Windsor Star. My first game, oddly enough, was the first visit to the Old Lady by the fledgling Toronto Blue Jays. I was immediately taken in by the history and all the years that the greats of baseball graced this marvellous old place. Before the Blue Jays, I would often be able to pull in Tiger games on the radio, where I had the honour of listening to the great Ernie Hartwell call games. The beautiful thing about baseball is tradition - and the reverence players from the past have for it. A beautiful and fitting final tribute to the Grand Old Lady at Michigan and Trumbull…
Mickey gutted me at the end.
We’re from Milwaukee & the two of us are trying to hit all 30 stadiums for Brewers games. In 2015, we hit stadium 7: Comerica. But on the morning of the game, we took a bus from downtown to Michigan & Trumbull. At that time, the field was wide open for anyone to play on. Anthony, who was 5 at the time, asked me why I was taking him to some baseball field. I asked him to close his eyes. “Imagine Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Ted Williams, Willie Mays, Kirk Gibson all coming to plate, rounding the bases. And imagine 50.000 screaming for them in two decks of stands surrounding you. “Anthony, they all played here. And right now, we’re playing catch on the same field, the same dirt they played on.” His eyes were as wide as saucers. He loved it. Detroit, thank you. You gave us one of the greatest memories of our sports lives. As I’m sure you have countless more memories of that special place.
Tbh, the nearest big cities to Crystal Falls are Escanaba, Marquette and Green Bay, WI.
Gosh how much I miss this amazing Tiger Stadium. I was born in 1965 and started attending Tiger baseball games in 1969 at the age four years old. The Tiger’s won the World Series in 1968. In 1983, I joined the U.S. Army and in 1984 the Tiger’s won the World Series. Memories that’s will always be dear to my heart. Awesome video brother. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏻👍🏻
Im 55 i remeber tiger stadium. From Grand Rapids it was real easy to get there and back. What memories this brought back thanks for doing this the right way! I was so sad they closed her Tiger Stadium down 😢
Great memories
Mike illich was a great man.
These things make me cry like a little girl with a skinned knee.
I visited Tiger Stadium from Atlanta to be part of the last game ever in 1999. Ernie Harwell is from Georgia.
I remember the SCANDAL IN HIGH SCHOOL IN 89 I THINK when he was called out About his affair with his secretary. Where they showed in the paper ..how much money he would give to his son. It was like a MILLION DOLLARS.
I was born in February 3 1973...as of 7/14/24 Coleman YOUNG WAS IN MY LIFE FOR THE FIRST 25 YEARS OF MY LIFE... INDIRECTLY... BECAUSE I WAS RAISED THERE EXCEPT THE 3 YEARS I LIVED IN HOUSTON,TX WHICH IS WHERE I ACTUALLY MET HIM. HE WAS DOWN TO EARTH.
Some of my memories of Tiger Stadium: watching Mark Fidrych pitch two innings, only to hurt his shoulder. Reggie Jackson in 1984 going completely over the right field roof. Dave Bergmans's 13 pitch at bat before launching a game winning three run homer, Walt Terrell in 1986 coming one out away from a no-hitter only to be broken up by Wally Joyner. Seeing some of the greats: Reggie, Nolan, Yaz, both Griffeys, Brett, Goose, Dave Winfield, Paul Molitor, and too many others to mention. Comerica is 25 years this year, and still feels like plastic.
THANK YOU JOHN OWEN 👍👍👍👍🙏
Let's honor it's 87 year past by tearing it down. So dumb. What a shame
The greatest mayor Detroit ever had that has had a lasting effect on many for truly he stood for ALL AND WAS UNAPOLOGETIC FOR BEING BLACK...
Yeah, detroit was such a great place under him. 🙄
@@BuckHart-oj8gt the big four auto makers ruined the city
I live in crystal falls
I live on the Bristol mine, randy loves and takes great care of this area
I grew up in flint and then moved to the U.P. when I was 18. I raised my kids there. Its beautiful there and will always be home in my heart!
So sad to see it go.
i love the U.P. june through september. not so much the rest of the time.
Such a great part of my memories. First game in 68 as an 11 year old kid. Was blessed enough to introduce our two sons to the sights, sounds, smells, and pure joy of Tiger Stadium. Have been to many MLB ballparks in my life, while enjoying each one, nothing compares to the magical place that was at Michigan and Trumbull!
I like this guy 😊
For me it was Lolich, Horton and Gibson. Those three guys are etched in my memory from the time I was a little boy right up until the time I was in my forties. I'll never forget listening to a quiet radio with Ernie harwell's voice on the radio on a hot summer night as I fell asleep and the Tigers ahead 5 to 3 in the top of the ninth. Goodbye and good night old girl. We will never forget your Green Green Grass and your beautiful green seats and painted poles Everything Green
Didn't mark fidrych make it to the last game ceremonies?😢
He phone no was FE FI FE FI FO FI FO .
I'll never forget the stoic voice of Ernie Harwell. I went to tiger stadium many times as a kid when tickets were only two to $5 and we had a great time and great experiences for great memories.
I'm from ohio but I love the UP.
Rosemary - This is your cousin Paul Carlotto. I just saw this video for the first time a couple of days ago while searching through TH-cam videos. Marsha and I were in Crystal Falls last August. Saw your brother and others. Had a great time. You are right though, so many are gone. I will never forget all the good times I had visiting there when I was young and especially the great times during hunting season.
The plant want to Texas because now it's all operated around by Mexicans
God bless our United Auto workers 🙏😇🙏
Sad.😢
John ... if you were to title this video: "Living in Upper Michigan" you would get a lot more views.
Very enjoyable video. Thanks for making it. My father worked in the woods in that area back in the 1930's. They used cross-cut saws back then. And of course horse teams.
i moved out of Detroit in Nov "77" out of the army, straight up north to Black Lake, Black Mt, a little cabin, snow was 5ft deep, it was like moving back in time, no locked doors, everything was definitely different, i stayed raised my family here, Tip of the Mit, even though i go and worked in the UP for decades, nothing like northern michigan
Aye.
The UP is the best place ever.
Upper peninsula I've been up there before 😂
Thank you...
I’m wondering if the Bob Pisor is the same person that created the stone house bread originally in Leland?
That is the same Bob Pisor. After retiring from reporting, he moved up to a house he built in Leland and started Stonehouse Bread, a reference to an old stone house on his property. He eventually sold the business to some Detroit bread makers he helped train. Bob passed away a few years ago and I will always fondly remember the times we worked together, and our adventures in the UP
I went to torch lake township, its a great place… the whole UP is nice
