Little Lies - Christine McVie Tribute
มุมมอง 489ปีที่แล้ว
I was saddened to hear of the passing of the great Christine McVie, and decided to put together this instrumental version in my (very basic) home studio, as a little tribute. Everything was done in one take with very little editing or mixing. RIP Christine, thank you for the beautiful songs.

I didn’t play the solos note for note and kinda did a mix around of the different guitar parts. Please forgive the clams (especially the ending). This one was tough!!

Takes me back to when I was 18 and I wore the tape out.
Great interpretation.
Pretty sweet dude. Nice purchase! Twelve strings are nice until you have to change them. That's a three day weekend to get 'em on and all tuned in, haha! i realize this is objective but your reverb seems a little strong on this end. Enjoy!
it’s a little reverby yes
Awesome love this guitar
thanks me too!
I thought I did ? maybe I missed a few licks at the fade-out
Man that was excellente'! Wish you would have finished. Would you mind doing it again so I can learn it? haha.
and thanks!
Wow excellent job, spot on thanks
Yeah Buddy!
I played this song back in the mid ‘70s. The trumpet player, who NEVER played a bad note, did a solo that we still remember to this very day. And that was almost 50 years ago. Your cover is the best I’ve seen on YT. Our singer could hit all Edgar’s notes, as you have, and I’ve always felt “Autumn” is one of the most beautiful ballads I’ve ever heard, or played. You do absolute justice to this wonderful piece of music. Thank you!
that’s a great story, thanks for sharing. This is one of the first youtube videos I ever did. Although I’ve been a professional musician my whole life, for some reason having videos of me singing and playing on the internet terrified me. But I’m glad I got over it because people seem to enjoy it. This was done over 10 years ago and me and my voice has changed so I’m also glad I captured that moment. Be well
Nice- the last lick is easier than what you’re doing though- it’s a simple 7-4-0 pull off on every string all the way down.
Oh wow! thank you! I can’t believe I didn’t realize the ending haha but I love it! I was hearing those triads descending in 5ths and never thought about it that way . Great trick!
I love this song. But I am better at using Open Tuning... particularly Open G. Good job of adapting keyboard to guitar. But could you find those chords in Open G so that I can play the song on my guitar?
Great job young man! I listened and loved this song when it debuted on Edgar Winter's They Only Come Out at Night album in the early 70s. I appreciate your talent!
For a fairly simple song, that rhythm is a bitch to get the hang of at first.
Nice work! Run that guitar through a compressor pedal and it will flatten out the highs giving it a sound a lot closer to the album.
Thanks
Awesome Job! Love this song and want to learn this. Peace.
Well done and nice Strat tone
Nice! Easy chord progression, but it’s all about the timing ( not so easy to maintain that strumming) thanx for showing me that jam! This is gonna be fun 😁
Fantastic 😊😊
Great job, Robbie would approve! I've got the same Surf Green AVRI Strat and love it!
Thanks brother!
Very good my brother
Thanks😊
nailed it
Terrific. I met Fred Tackett in the studio when I lived briefly in Los Angeles. When he got a break as others were overdubbing, I introduced myself and told him I thought that was one of the greatest guitar songs ever and I was attempting to figure it out. He generously took about 10 minutes and showed me the basics of the signature lick, as well as some of the unison turnarounds. I haven't worked on it for years, but now I want to get back and have it in my tool belt. Thanks for posting
cool story!
Beautiful 👍✌❤🎶
Very good baby ✌❤🎶🎼🎸🎵🌷

Why don’t you sell me that amp I love Vegas I have a mint Commander I just love
It was a cool amp for sure! already sold, sorry
I love this song I have been trying to figure out the chord progressions in this song and done it exactly the way it was done from the original song. Beautiful. If you don’t mind could send chord progressions my way thank you
Great job!
love this!
👏 Nice job
One year later......,Yes on "Star Spangled Banner"--play ball, BUT No, it's the "Stars and Stripes Forever" when the fireworks are going off.---LOL just messing with you Fil. Nice performance.in Chatham. 5 STARS! --Van
Thanks for pointing out the Guitarist Dan Toler (I was not aware of this gentleman)...Death by .ALS? I have a theory, too much "bathing" in electromagnetic radiation. I was talking to Luthier/ Bass Guitarist ( for Ronnie Earl) Jim Mouridian about this very subject--he agreed and he died a year later at at gig in Conn. Nicely done cover Fil. 5 STARS! --Van
Good tune. "We're all a bunch of thieves anyway"--Robert Plant 5 STARS! --Van
Cool Chords... 5 STARS! --Van
Good tune.... 5 STARS! --Van
I'm replying to a comment and I see....Oh this is you "Fil" from "No Static" ...I was there at The Regent last month...good show... 5 STARS! --Van
You rock ! Thanks Van!
Autumn is almost here and I'd love a better camera shot of your fretting hand or an actual guitar tutorial on how your playing this song. With two monster electric guitar players in the band and two huge electric guitar hits off the same album this delicate acoustic piece didn't have a chance to see the light of day when it came out. Another song I like that's also passed over is from Steve Miller called Winter Time.
Hi, the chords are all very basic open “cowboy “ type , and it’s a basic 4/4 strumming pattern. Song is in C. This was the first song I ever put on youtube so my camera skills weren’t there, I maybe should have panned out. cheers
Way better than the white stripes vrs
Fyi its robert plant not led zepp
Autumn by edgar winter group you played it good!! the only thing is? you can't see your hand's cording the song!! you need to video tape this again. but show your hand's on the cord's you sound great!! better then the rest who tried this.. keep it up!!
Glad to see another looking for a tutorial on playing this song. Too great of a song to let it wither and die on the vine.
You Toler'd it!!! 😉👍
Fantastica! L’ho scoperta per caso vedendo un film di Derrick. Peace ✌️
Nice job! Autumn was written by the great Dan Hartman who was the bassist for the Edgar Winter Group at the time. His solo career in the 80's is well worth checking out ✌
