Russian Channel Markers
มุมมอง 2114 วันที่ผ่านมา
Very short video of a Russian channel marker using SDRuno software. This software is new to me, so it will take sometime to learn how to use it. I recently upgraded to Win 11 and am updating a lot of features and apps.

More 6779 Khz digital
มุมมอง 662 หลายเดือนก่อน
This is common on this freq. It is unclear whether this is from the Coast Guard or a MARS freq. The CW at the end leads me to believe this is a MARS freq. 6845 Khz has similar transmissions. I will try tio get a video of that freq. soon.
Digital Transmissions 6779 Khz?

Been hearing this nightly on this frequency. Have any of you been able to hear this? Need to try a web SDR for more help finding where this is originating. Find it interesting.
Radio Romania on a vintage Kenwood R-1000
มุมมอง 324 หลายเดือนก่อน
Radio Romania booming in on a vintage Kenwood R-1000 receiver. I recently returned this radio to a working condition from it being plagued with numerous problems. Still news some TLC, but it's working again. Love these, as they are some of the quietest receivers ever produced. All analog.
Pirate Radio station. Need help IDing it.

This is a pirate radio station in AM mode. Sounds like Stem Radio or SPAM radio? I need help identifying it please. Thank you in advance!

This is a 51 character message, repeated twice, from USAF. 11175 is an interesting frequency to monitor. Message was from "PROPAGATE".
Russian channel marker frequencies

Russian channel markers. These are relatively new. 6920 and 6320 are both similar, with just a "pip" heard. Probably meant to keep the channel open.

Pirate radio with technical issues? 6831Khz
It's got to be close to 10 years since I've heard it, usually it was on 40 meters.
Yes, this has heard on several frequencies. Thanks!
I also found this today (my local time: 09:32 UTC+8) th-cam.com/video/vpGs6TTwTQc/w-d-xo.html. An interesting thing is, that my Android phone has an interference exactly on this frequency when I unlock it.
@@bczhc thank you. That's it. There are several of those throughout the HF bands. I think they are beacons or markers to measure propagation.
I heard morse code on this frequency
Yes, me too. Thanks.
Hello there
6900 kHz doesn't fall within any recognised SW band and Radio Caroline (when it was a pirate, a few miles beyond British jurisdiction waters), used frequencies within the MW/AM band. Google MV 'Mi Amigo' to see the original ship and the capacitative top-loaded MW Tx antenna. There would have been no point in SW broadcasting because 99.999% of the British listening public didn't own a SW receiver.
The high 6MHz range is a popular "band" for pirate radio. That said, I say let them be. It ain't my beat. And I say that as an Extra who earned her Extra when code was still required.
who’s “her”
@@jayCLTeeee Me.
Let em be they aint hurtin anyone.
What does this have to do with my question?
@@garyn2njy If they arent hurting anyone why bother trying to track them down? Sounds like they are in another country outside the US so you really cant do anything.
Thsts just somebodys private fm transmitter
Sternradio i was listening to their 4/20 broadcast toi
Thank you so much!
BEWARE PIRATES....Someone in the commercial broadcast industry is starting to nudge the USA FCC to get busy busting USA pirates on the AM band AND on THE HF bands...5-10mhz
I hope you don't find it just let them exist
This is right.
would the FCC be bustin’ through the doors of the pirate broadcaster if they were found out
6.9 MHz is part of the 41-meter HF band, which is also known as the "undeclared pirate" band, and has been around since the 1980s. just for a little FYI lol Isn't google search a wonderful thing.
You are correct. A cool part of the HF spectrum to hang out.
STATION's 10 RADIO?? ID repeated in another language
Thank you!
Maybe it's the 5th dimension thetans sending us special instructions to build an interstellar tesserac for returning us home to zybiflius!
Ugh...
If it not affecting your enjoyment on the bands that you are working from then just leave them be
Exactly. Why do some hams think they are self appointed radio police?
@@richb.4374 Because they tried the same thing with local CB'rs and got his ... kicked.
@@flpanhead I love the "drive too slow" analogy! Pirate radio stations aren't my business, and I say that as an Extra who became an Extra when code was still required.
I think he literally just wanted to know which pirate it was, given that video description. I don't get the vibe that he wants to dox the broadcaster.
Exactly. Only wanted an ID for my log. Geeze...@newq
Can the FCC find it?
I doubt it.
If the signal is outside of the US, there's nothing they can do about it anyway.
Why would they want to? They do NOT have enough money to drive anywhere, monitor and pay for agent hotel bills anymore. They will, however, nail you for ROBO calls.
What was the UTC time this was being played? We can help narrow down possible legal stations playing at the time, if this was then "repeated" forward... 👍🏻
The UTC is on the screen, 00:19. Thanks.
@@garyn2njy... I was watching on an old phone... now, where's my glasses? I'm getting old... 😂
@garyn2njy ... between 00:00hrs-01:00hrs UK time, on Sunday 21 April 2024, Radio Caroline's schedule was showing as playing a Phil Meek set. I wouldn't think that the noise you heard was from this... He said in an interview: "What are your favourite bands and who is your hero? - Being as old as I am, I have had many favourite bands and artists, and still have many of their Albums in my collection. A long time favorite is Kenny Loggins whose music and lyrics I enjoy, currently high on the list is folk singer Jenna. Never really had a Hero, but possibly my Father should be, as he taught me a lot in my younger days. What are your favourite tunes? - There is not enough room here to select them all, I really like Celebrate Me Home by Kenny Loggins, and Music by John Miles, both of which I usually play when on Caroline, there is so much new music which is making me forget the older stuff, as I found out on the Ross recently."
@@EssexCountyPhoto We all are! 😀
The singer on this song is Dario Seraval. The song is More Resistance by Borghesia. I know this wonk help identify the station broadcasting but it's info about that particular broadcast.
Thank you!
Sounds to me like either Tim Smith WBCQ Monticello, Maine USA. Or, Possibly someone connected with Radio Caroline in the UK.
Interesting, thanks.
There wont be any association with Radio Caroline as they are a legal station on 648Khz & other outlets including internet.
WBCQ is 7490!!!!
It's the Kootie Kitti Kocktail Krazy hour!! It's jive turkey to the funky monkey.
Hmmm....
Amen Bro. You know that jive don't slick mama down on the back side, dig ?
I believe the callsign is p1rat3 LOL
I think you should try to get a QSL card
Great idea!
The audio is a perfect accompaniment.
It's actually pretty ingenious.
your vlogs are awesome
Thank you!
I believe Kbec is Quebec.
Nice catch. I heard a similar HF WX report on freq: 13158 USB at 1:20UTC on the 17th. Female voice and quick sign off, no ID.
Interesting. Thank you for the info and your comment.
An interesting contrast to other marine weather forecasts, not surprising since its historic link to the Voluntary Observing Ship program. Here's a link to I believe the current handbook. www.vos.noaa.gov/ObsHB-508/ObservingHandbook1_2010_508_compliant.pdf
Nice drake receiver 😊
Thank you!
I got a QSL from them when I was a teenager
Thanks for your comment. They run a nice station with diverse programming.
What's that big wave at 2:51?
I think they are atmosperic disturbances known as "sweepers". They cover large amounts of bandwidth and come and go irregularly. Thanks.
Over the horizon radar or testing ionospheric conditions would be my guess. B well m8. 👍 😃🇦🇺
The transcript is a nice touch
I love this show!
These lowes have a nice clean soundm My HF 225 sounds the same
Basically the same radio. Thanks.

Someone inflating an air mattress at night with foot pump as quiet as possible
Another strange one for sure, and speaking of pirates, Halloween is coming up and over the years I've heard some pirate rebroadcasts on Halloween of what are supposed to be famous pirate "shows" around 6850 Khz.
Thanks for the info Dave!
Many saying this is NOT a pirate but rather a NATO signal. Also heard on 5714Khz.
Some have mentioned this is a newer OTH radar?
Strange indeed
What is the interval of the pulses? Any sign of phase encoding on the edges?
No signs of encoding. This is a rapid ticking that faded. Lots of different digital signals today, but thought this one was interesting.
Very cool. Eight years ago I listened to the "Jay Smilkstein Memorial Show" on 6925 Khz and managed to get the email address to get a QSL card. One never knows the surprises one will encounter on the shortwave bands.
Very nice Dave. Good to hear from you. Hope all is well.
Very nice. My favorite maritime weather/shipping forecast was always BBC on 198.00 khz. Before I heard that via websdr stations, the hf versions of the forecast I heard were rather truncated vs the program on longwave.
Glad you enjoyed it Dave. I've been listening to these broadcasts for over 40 years.
And happy holidays to you!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
Impressive performance by the mla-30. I'm guessing you find it useful for reducing noise.
Hi Dave, It works well, a bit too sensitive, but other than that it is quiet for the money.
Hey,just found this on my radio.. do you know what is that?
Thanks for your question. From what I understand they are low power markers or beacons. Others can be found throughout the HF spectrum.
@@garyn2njy hii :) thanks for Youre comment. So its seems Like ,this is still...hiden secret,Like numeric station?
One can hear some strange stuff. My brother in-law [a doctor] had to deal with an injured drunk passenger and the conversation between the pilot and flight control mostly had to do with the enormous amount of paperwork this was going to cause everyone.
Amazing. Good to hear from you Dave.
it's probably a Cuban jammer jamming radio marti
Quite possibly.
jamming from the cuban government.
I'm hearing lots of these on other frequencies.
