    Trolling weights will replace your swivel, also for insurance use another bead and bobber stop under float above weight. Especially if you’re using same # line for jig or hook

    Does the keeper slide down when you cast brother?

    • @theknottyfisherman58
      @theknottyfisherman58 ปีที่แล้ว

      When it starts out no. Over time if you do a lot of adjustments with it, occasionally you may see some slippage. Generally what I do when that happens is I switch the keeper out with a new one and when I get back home make sure there is no gunk in the gap and then place it in hot water. Usually fixes the issue of slippage. Other than that I have cast these hard with a 1/2 oz sinker behind it and it doesn’t move. Hope this helps!!

    There is also the cigar shaped bobbers that are weighted - kind of popular because the are cheap. The problem with the line pinch bobbers is you have to check that area of your line for kinks. I've picked up a bunch of "free" bobbers that broke off. I like the tough bubble water bobbers. They come in more sizes than clear - you don't have to fill them 100% - I fill mine 50%. Remember distance is great but that means the less floating above the water

    • @theknottyfisherman58
      @theknottyfisherman58 ปีที่แล้ว

      Water bobbers are good for a variety of uses from what I have seen, from the traditional function of mostly exposed to let the bait just float along, to filling them 75% or more to try and use a fly with them. I usually keep one or two on hand for those types of days.

      You should have received a couple of small rubber washers with your reel. they are used as spacers for the spool in case it doesnt stack the line on the spool equally. you might try one on the spool shaft and see if that wont snug it up for you.
