    there’s a lot of bias in these studies considering the various other factors that could have influenced people of color being called back less- from qualification level, to experience, to cordiality/professionalism during the interview, prior job employment length, workplace behavior, etc. that’s not to say a percentage of this isn’t downright racism- it’s to say the chance of it ALL being tied back to racism is a nonsensical notion.

    You must always take into consideration, Not everyone will or can get everything they want, and often won't get most of what they (think they) want/need. Or even know what they really need/want. Life is about trade offs and sacrifices (and to a long lost ethic called "for the greater good." We increasingly seem to lean towards what feels good right now) Therefore, what I am saying is, in order to get to a place that works for everyone in general, it is understood that we can't get help everyone, and to help most people AND remain stable, it all comes with costs. You will have to live with (or without) some things for the whole system to function. Especially thinking long term.

    • @PursuitofMe
      @PursuitofMe 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree with your statement! But I do not think most people have the awareness to understand this concept. So they may stay fixated on one issue or another. She is so right. We'll watch our tones and attitude for co workers and bosses every sigle day without thinking about it. But for the people we love and would do anything for, we'll be more snippy, rude, short, ect. Even if we dont mean to and it's just not cool. I try to watch/check myself at times, even if someone doesn't say anything to me or react different. If I think back to how I said something or how I reacted to something and I can see how it might've come across alittle rude or short, then, I'll applogize right then just in case I did came across like that. Because I want to be nice and sweet. I dont want to seem mean or that I dont respect/love someone I do. Most times people are like "oh no, it didnt seem like that," But still, it matters to me that I made sure to tell them how I didnt mean to be because I care about them and I wouldnt want that done to me either, ya know? This especially goes for our spouses, gf/bf, parents, bffs, siblings. Just bc they are less likely to leave us or shut us out comepared to strangers or co workers, thats not a reason not to care. Even tho we should still treat strangers good too. I just think our society really needs to self reflect more often than most we do and even swallow some pride here and there bc our society is really becoming heartless, selfish, rude, and just crappy all around and its not good at all. People we love, that treat us right, truly don't deserve to be talked to or treated any less than great, and the same goes for how people treat us. Our kids and society as a whole would be in such a better place overall. We all need to do better. Sorry so long but this is important to me 😊

    We don’t stick around for the change because it doesn’t happen.
