It's nice to hear his voice as it was for most of his life and to not forget how he martyred his vocal chords for our enjoyment, so all I can say to the kids of today, don't worry that his voice isn't now as powerful as it once was. Wait till you are 82 and see how your singing voice is. I'm only 65 and my voice isn't what it once was. Just go and see him, you won't regret it. You will be able to tell your grandchildren that you saw him live during your lifetime

I liked Beaties ‘64 . Yeah it could have used more Concert footage but it was still great . I was disappointed in Living in the material world documentary tbh . It didn’t cover George’s career evenly . Cloud 9 - one of his biggest albums isn’t even mentioned .

RiP Pete. Seeing the show without you just won't be the same. The news of your passing was a huge shock. Very sad indeed 😢😢

I believe the reason the St Winifred's Choir overtook John for the 1980 Christmas Number 1 in the UK was because Starting Over had peaked at Number 8 and had been dropping down the charts for two weeks prior to his passing, then in the week following many of the record stores sold out and were unable to re-stock enough copies to keep up with demand. Therefore a lot of potential sales for that week didn't happen after it had rebounded to Number 1 the previous week.

Nice to remember Beatle John ! We all miss him. And we all love him!

Thank you for sharing your memories Dino. I remember vividly the morning of Tuesday Dec 9th 1980 when my Dad came in from his nightshift to tell my Mum and myself that something's happened to John Lennon as every radio station is playing nothing but his music, all I've heard coming home is what he said. So we put the Radio on to hear the news, that he'd sadly died. Now incredibly, some 44 years later and here we are still talking about and remembering the man and enjoying his music. Rather than feeling sad I tend to celebrate his life, much as I do my parents, sadly both of them are no longer with us either. I became a Beatles fan back in '76 when I first heard Paperback Writer and was blown away by it and it's B-side Rain and then later on the Revolver album. John's death at the time deeply affected me, being 16 and such a fan still learning so much about this incredible band and it's members individual solo projects, as did George's passing almost 21 years later. But I celebrate both of them through their music, their amazing song writing and of course their very celebrated senses of humour. Thank you so much for your very touching and heartfelt tribute. PS. enjoyed the feature on your John and Yoko collection in Record Collector Magazine's John and Yoko issue. (Out now Folks in all good newsagents, paper shops, and Supermarkets. A bargain at half the price...)
