As the Faithful, desiring a relationship with our Lord through his Church, we place ourselves in a receptive posture, welcoming His Love and Grace which transforms us, makes us holy and prepares us for eternal life. Mark 9:37 says “whoever receives me receives not me but the One who sent me,” and at the end of John’s Gospel, Jesus breathes on the disciples and says “receive the Holy Spirit” (John 20:22). When we encounter Jesus in the words of Scripture or in the Sacraments, we Receive an incredible gift that isn't earned, but instead freely given to us.
To begin a path of Christian discipleship, we must first Receive the incredibly abundant love and joy Jesus Christ offers us, making Him the center of our lives and our families.
