Started off the day with the hopes of summiting Blà Bheinn, my first Munro. A Munro is a peak over 3000 ft. Scotland has 282 of them. (Munro's are to Scotland what 14ers are to Colorado.) Unfortunately, the weather was terrible, and about 3/4 of the way up the summit, while actually in a cloud layer, I had to call it quits, as the wet rocks were making the climb a bit hairy. It was also very di...

Platoon 1068 , Feb 96’ here , I was at boot camp with you gents! 🫡
where did you land doesn't look familiar ?
@Newdaypestcontrol I landed on Wright's Farm on the east side of 208, about 1.5 miles east of the DZ. On opening, I had no idea where I was. Took me a bit to figure out where I was.
@@Cbermeo75 was it really windy day ? or you exit too late ? I did my AAF at the Ranch Dean was my instructor I hope I can get back to it next year.
Did the road in Dec. '72, skiied up to 'bout where the iron gate is, camped, 3ft of snow overnite, broke trail all the way out/down...awesome trip...
Very nice 👌 video!! Beautiful landscape!! Subscribed
Thank you 🙏

Beautiful video. Thank You!
Thank you 🙏
In 1966 we had the M14 Plt 1022
Amazing my friend
Thank you, April!
Maybe take a bit more time packing 😂
Awesome advice! Thanks, champ!
Bro you are extremely talented I love the video bro
Thanks, brother 🙏
Is this an ok hike to do alone?
Yes, I've done it alone several times.
@@Cbermeo75 thank you!
@@Cbermeo75 I just did it yesterday! It was pretty challenging. Definitely not on the main map. I meant two German students. And we went together pretty fun hike.

Very lucky it didn't stay up there !
I'm assuming you got it back?
Yes sir
Bravo! My first SkyHook save was on jump #35 after a pilot chute-in-tow. (Bill Booth told me this was the 5th save - (I was an early adopter) ) It was surreal, and it was a "CANOPY TRANSFER," as Bill described. The cutaway handle/system was not yet to full extension when I had a full, safe, square and steerable reserve canopy overhead. At this point there was zero reason to continue with the reserve handle - although the rote EP certainly calls for pulling the reserve immediately after the cutaway. Judgment and situational awareness should always prevail. When your parachute system is now safe and functional, why waste time and altitude fiddling with something that is no longer connected to anything????? Some might disagree with this, but there is no excuse for not THINKING in an emergency. Know how your equipment works and how your system flies.
Never rely on your sky hook to pull your reserve for you always clear your handles both of them No excuses
Skyhook seems to be the best route.
Damn, Thats just stunning, what beautiful views... Thank you for sharing !!
Thank you, sir 🙏
Beautiful
Thank you, Ava. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Awesome Video dude, I love the footage and beautiful views.. Thank you for sharing !!
Thanks bud! Glad you enjoyed it.
Great video! Amazing overlook! How long does this hike take from False Kiva? Thanks
Thank you for the feedback! To answer your question, if you mean from False Kiva to the point where the video ends, it was about 20 minutes. But if you mean the hike from False Kiva back to the parking area, or vice versa, that's about 30 to 35 minutes. Here is the link to that hike, if you're interested. Thanks again. th-cam.com/video/mM984Yfi4JY/w-d-xo.html
@@Cbermeo75 Thanks! I first looked at your False Kiva trail video ;). The site is closed but the access is still ok. The 2 combined hikes look so exciting. I'm planning to go there this summer. I'm trying to avoid the crowd!
@@jphdurand8432 Canyonlands gets a little crowded in the summer but not nearly as bad as Arches NP. We went in October and it was prefect. Good luck!
So glad I paid extra for a skyhook on my rig. That reserve came out so quick!
This platoon is full of pizza boxes! Yikes!!
I was in 2nd battalion 2052 back in 1983. When we did the gas chamber, when we existed, we had over 10-15 feet of snot poring out of our noses!
Who ever shot the video during inspection in squad bay, you could hear him breathing, he never shot video of a complete inspection, he never shot any video of the bed, no video of trunk inspection, no close ups of weapon inspection! He even had window glare from windows, and still shot from those angles! Just bad video camera work!
haha thats a bad pack job :)
Believe it or not, it was packed by a rigger.
Foi tombo ou erro de freio? Estranho este embaraçado nas linhas e nos torantes...
Wonder if any of these dudes still in today
If so they are sergeant major or master guns.
My dad got out in 2016. He was in this platoon.
I am mesmerised by the modern cutaway system. From a bloke who jumped rounds in the early 1970s.
Really awesome cuz
Thank you, sir 🙏
wow, that's pretty!!! Boost your stats > P-R-O-M-O-S-M !!
18.15 .....is that Senior Drill Instructor Staff Sargent Cirillo with glasses
At 18:15, that was my platoon, 1076, running by. He was not our Senior DI. I'm not familiar with the name either.
I wonder if this is the same video we watched in the recruiters office...

I've never been skydiving, but why did you cut away. I saw that something didn't look right, but the chute looked fine. Couldn't you have just landed with the first chute?
99.99% of the time when you cut-away, the chute looks fine, but it's the lines that are the problem. My lines were a mangled mess, and there was no undoing that. Yes, I could have landed with it, but I would have been at the mercy of wherever the wind took me, i.e. power lines, tree tops, highway.
This guy should have had his left hand on the reserve Rip Cord, unless he's lefthanded. Have fun. I have an ACE, and they are fast,,, nice video.
