looks like all those masks really helped albini huh
Can't have been easy to crowbar that into this- but hey, you managed it!
Something something something when this is over I’ll leap in my grave like the arms of a lover and go
#thankyoustevealbini
A BANDA QUE MAIS VEZES VI AO VIVO... 10 VEZES SEWGUIDAS... UMA POR ANO REST IN PEACE STEVE ALBINI
The lyrics on the last song of the last Shellac album right after Albini dies are about Heaven and He🏒🏒
So rad how they unwind the riff at the end by playin dif parts then Albini expands on the chord in such a raw way bravo 👏
I called it "the song where they go blingblingblingbling at the end"
@@mileshedgehog haha that works too
I wonder how Steve is enjoying hell right about now...
Sad to lose Albini. He was a positive force in the music industry. Also, I've been curious about the specs on those mirror matched amps they use ever since I saw them live over 20yrs ago. Anyone know?
He used a 1976 Travis Bean TB-500 aluminum neck guitar. He ran a Boss NS-2 noise gate, MXR noise gate and Interfax Harmonic Percolator and a signal splitter before the amps. For what inside Steve's custom amp housing, signal is split into '65 Fender Bassman (to cab #1) and the other side is a Tapco IVP Transistor Preamp into a Carver 50W power amp split to a 2nd cab and into a DI box (to PA mixer).
I wonder how he is enjoying hell.
joke's on us. this is hell.
@@distantyahoo A better way of saying it, is for the saved, this is the closest to hell that we will ever get. For the unsaved, this is the closest to heaven that they will ever get.
I really hope you don’t believe that save/unsaved rap.
@@suspiciouswatermelon7639 Save me from your bullshit.
@@tjord I didn't make it up.. this is the promise the Lord made, that if you trust in the sacrifice he made then you will go to heaven. Take it up with him.
So very sad to think this would have been one of the last times I’d ever see them live. Thanks Steve for all the amazing music! He will sorely be missed.
I agree Steve’s passing hit me hard too. Considering Shellac is probably my favourite band.
Even with absolute shit quality sound from someone's phone into mine, the essence of Shellac comes through
Last time we saw them 💔 R.I.P. Steve Albini
A week on the same chord
love the weird high cymbal at the back
'till this moment I still can't accept that he is gone..It's really hard to process losing him...and the fact that we will never get to listen to any albums recorded by him ever again, as well as him playing with Shellac....fuck, it really hits so hard.
It's such a loss, although one small consolation is that Shellac's last album, To All Trains, comes out tomorrow, May 17th. I intend to listen intently and pour one out for Steve
Can’t agree more to this. Monumental loss!
Same. I'm glad I got to thank him for the 90s a few years ago 💔
:(
RIP Legend!
RIP Steve :(
RIP Albini
Oh my god no way
If you’ve heard one Albini song…you’ve heard them all!
No, just you.
and they're all amazing
If you’ve had sex once… you wouldn’t say anything so stupid
You will.
You will.
I don't fear Narnia or Atlantis either
Well 1st time I've heard this band,.. this interesting mix of the Drums dropping in & out of the tune the sound of the Bass & Guitar leaving lots of space for the drummer to accent & play in & out of time!- is really something cool & unusual as a drummer myself, I listen to many styles of music; & grew up on early punk/prog/radio rock/pop... the core sound reminds me of Early Gang of Four songs it difficult to be Original in todays Mismash of bands out there but this band certainly has a really unique song writing process..!! i love this approach!
Yet more boring, overly dry, Academic Rock from them. Name should be changed to Beating A Dead Horse band.
Trainor.
Killer.
😂
Fantastic
They got some weird gear.
i wanna know what’s on top of their speaker cabinets, they look wacked out. My assumption is most of their tone is coming from Tronographic Rusty Boxes.
Sounds like guitars to me
I was there... this was maybe the best show I've seen by them and I saw quite a few.
Dropping a Jonathan Fire Eater tune ?!? 🫠
thanks for the upload - was bummed I missed this show
Like the sound quality of this performance. Good EQ, good venue acoustics.
Those mystery backstage feet though... just chill grooving to the blistering noise of Shellac
Steve is a nice dude met him a couple times he's always really nice
My son, who is 11, just walked in whilst I played / streamed this. "What's that cacophany of noise?" he remarked. The kids are square.
This has the vibe of that lock groove of that song on Terraform. I like it for that reason.
Mouth full of garbage
EEEYREAHHH
albini martini holding it down
This tunes the shit. It’s like they’re jet planes
Word is there recording a new album with rarities
SWEEET
Was this a new song?
Yes, probably appear on their next record.
Just finished the record. It’s incredible IMO. R.I.P. Steve
Thank you!
You're welcome!
Great!
From sun up to sun down Decisions make my head spin round Make me drunk, sick and tired Keep me up 'til I retire And while I could be out bar hopping Meat market, rocker chick shopping Out there, chasing my dick In its never ending search for chicks But I'd rather be sleeping In my bed, crashed out A slice of death, wrapped up All in wool, passed out Drunk, you stupid fool No more waking hassles Weary of the daily battles So on my bed, I lay curled A 'Could be' man of the world But I'd rather be sleeping In my bed, crashed out A slice of death, wrapped up All in wool, passed out Drunk, you stupid fool
YES!!!!
This song goes too hard
