Seeing as how we're all locked up due to Coronavirus I thought I'd throw together some old footage. This was shot back in October when I was in Saas Fee, Switzerland for three weeks. I was there shooting snowboarding, this is a little compilation of all my non-snowboard footage. Enjoy!

So beautiful. What camera did you use?
We all love nostalgia <3
Hey Russell! Is there an email I could reach you at? Wanted to see if I could license part of this video
This is art. Props to this guy for doing his homework.
I feel something familiar, what could it be?
did you color grade this?
This is such a beautiful video. It’s crazy to think a couple months after this the world would change. Well done.
play this muted with yellowcard - way away, 30 sec in playing at the same time. Thank me later
this so dope, what camera model was used?
Do you color grade the video or is it just from the camera
lame. It works for my gen and earlier because we look better and still do. Most of your gen are just dorks.
Happy to find a Wallows song when I searched "super 8 film footage"
Just heard about this thang on Air time. It’s 💯
Funny that 6 months later we went from this to lock down. Interesting commentary
Exactly 3 mins long. All one roll? Because that would just be too perfect
pretentious
500 days of summer
man this guy really had his ducks in a row
This was filmed so fuxking well
funny how the next year everything went to hell lmao
Vancouver! Yay! This made me so happy to watch
Vancouver ❤
I like movies of the past! Thanks
Anyone know how to get this type of vibe on digital video ?
Do you color grade your film?
Nice work if you can get it.
This is beautiful. Good memories <3
someone is stealing your work and using it to sell shitty digicams on tiktok!!!
It's nice seeing that you noticed too! I've posted 26 comments on their (the thief) channel so far, trying to inform people of this. I've posted proof of it on my latest TH-cam community post, with links to the possible source that they got it from. I reached out to someone who used this video, (but gave credits in the description) and I'm going to try to get in contact with this channel, but I'm not sure if they will respond, given this channel hasn't posted a video in three years. From what I found on a Reddit post, this company could be getting their cameras for $1.30, because you can buy ten on a Chinese website for $13. It's not just TheRetroSnap, though. I would give more information, but I've been busy typing. If you want a little more information, just reply to my comment, and I'll hopefully get to you later tonight or tomorrow!
Really wish they checked the film gate & cleaned it out on those shots that shows dust on the edges 😩 great movie though!
I didn't know there were people still having magical summers like this. I'm envious. I love the 8mm touch.
how do you develop? this is beautiful
how do you develop?
the last real summer before covid hit
looking back at this and seeing what COVID took from us
Man… when times with friends and family were truly bliss.
Vancouver? Or where in Canada?
what camera and film ??
How can you transfer super 8 footages to digital?
Stunning, kudos to you
Really nicely done!
Show me how privileged you are in under 4 minutes 😂
Hi Russell, is there any similar alternative to Super-8 that is not so terribly expensive for hobbyists (film material, development, digitization)? What I like about it is the authentic analog film look. It doesn't have to be so grainy or pastel-colored. But also not as home video-like as VHS.
2019 was the last year before everything went to hell
2019 hits different now

sexy
the intro is super catchy, a better songwriter would have built the song around that. now it fizzles out into nothing. what a wasted opportunity.
Biggest mistake of my life- accidentally buying a double 8mm camera instead of regular 8 or super 8. There’s nowhere for me to get it split. The film has been sitting in my fridge since August and it’s now November 😂
Beautiful.
what is the name of the rectangle effect on the left and how to make it?
