This is by far the best BTS information video online! Extremely well put together! I’ll share it in a future video for people to check out 👍🏻 amazing work
Wow thaaaank you Rob!! Such a pleasant surprise seeing your comment! Thank you for your amazing videos and for sharing mine!! ❤️
@@BangkokLifestyleUpdatesYou’re welcome! Credit where credit is due! You smashed this one out the park 👌🏻
Thank you for this excellent video
Glad you liked it!
I've been meaning to explore these areas after living in Sathon and Sukhumvit the last half year. Some things I've bookmarked already, but had no idea idea about many others, thanks! Great work, great voice over, very soothing voice and native sounding English. I understand if you want to stay anonymous, but I think it would be great to see who's behind this channel.
Thank you! I'm glad you find it helpful! Also thank you for your kind words - I actually don't like my own voice that much but since AI voiceover keeps pronouncing the Thai names weirdly, I have to do it myself. So thank you for your encouragement!! ❤️
@@BangkokLifestyleUpdates yeah no one likes their own voice, that's because it sounds so different than in our heads and we're not use to hearing ourselves as others do. Even professionals that do it for a long time. So keep it up!
Another great video - thanks so much!
My pleasure! Thanks again!
One of the most helpful videos on Bangkok that I’ve watched - and I’ve watched a LOT! Thank you so much! And I really like the pace, the amount of information, the station by station flow and your very clear way of speaking and explaining things. I’ve subscribed and I’ll now be binging your videos ahead of our visit. Thank you!
Thank you so much! What you said is a huge encouragement for me!!
It would be great if you could include companion map for each of the station and places you went. THANK YOU MUCH.
Thank you for your suggestion! I will consider it!
8:02 the "City of Angels" got me good 😂
Haha glad you find it funny!
Very useful guide for our upcoming vacation to Bangkok later this year. Thanks
Thank you Phil!
This format is perfect for stations like chitlom and siam as they were much more place of interest to explore and popular amongst all groups of tourist worldwide. Thanks for making this series of discovering bkk through bts. It brings much memories back from those times I used to travel there monthly. Maybe we could see a mrt series soon. Cheers
Thank you for your feedback and support!
I like that you show a few places at a time. A short video between 10 to 15 minutes is perfect. Thanks
My wife and I will be in Bangkok this October and really appreciate your narrative of the Siam area. Your voice is very pleasant to listen to. Please continue to all the wonderful places Bangkok has to offer.😊
Thank you Phil for your compliment and feedback! Wish you a wonderful time in Bangkok!
Love your videos, very informative and detailed too. Please continue uploading other areas and places of interest. I am learning a lot from your videos. Thank you. 😊
Thank you! This means a lot to me!
more uploads! missing bangkok/thailand!
Will do! Thank you for your support :)
Best video I’ve seen, good info, easy to understand.
Thank you Lily!
because the gold line is own by Icon Siam group.
Wow I actually didn't know it's owned by Iconsiam group. Thank you for the info!
a well done video, clear and with enough guidance! thank you for sharing. looking forward to watching the exploring bangkok using BTS
Glad it was helpful!
Excellent, now how about MRT lines, eg Pink Line. Every U tuber’s experience is different
Hi Douglas! I haven't taken the Pink Line yet. Will have to update later :)
Khop Khun Krap for the info, Dumb Question - Is there a card that does all Public Transport EG i get off the Plane grab my Bunny (rabbit) Card then grab the train to Hua Hin and top up accordingly when required use the said card for buses etc,, this would solve lining up for tickets thus stream lining the system. Perhaps i am dreaming?
Hi Steve! It's not a dumb question at all. Unfortunately there is no such card that supports all public transport for Thailand or for Bangkok. Rabbit Card does work for some buses but not all of them. Since BTS, MRT, and the train system SRT belong to different companies and they don't share profit, you'll have to purchase tickets separately.
May I know can Rabbit' card also use on the new GOLD line or not? Because you hav missed up this point.
Hi! It is implied that Rabbit card can be used on all BTS lines. The tricky part is that the one-day pass don't work for Gold Line. And because Dark Green Line and Gold Line cannot be interchanged inside the station, when you use Rabbit Card to transfer lines, you'll need to exit first and enter, and fees will be deducted two times for two lines. This rule also applies to single journey card, because you will need to purchase two single journey cards for two lines.
Hi i was wondering, if i purchase the One day pass card, can i use it on the Chao Phraya boat or not?
Hey, sadly you cannot. The one day pass only works for BTS Sukhumvit Line and Silom Line (aka. the light green line and the dark green line)
Thanks for your explanation. this is still on the list, but this year I was in phuket. really want to come back as I enjoyed my stay and hope the government won't make cannabis illegal again. I liked the clean shops and supported them.
My pleasure!
Wow! Loved it. Brilliant format - almost taking us along. Time to throw away a guidebook. New sub here. Best wishes.
Thank you Mary-Ann!!
Why so inconsistent with Rachatewi... Just left viewer hanging and wondering
Thank you for your comment! I’m not sure what you meant by “inconsistent”, can you tell me more?
@@BangkokLifestyleUpdates sometimes there are summaries, sometimes none, sometimes housing and rental prices, sometimes none. Was actually keen to know Rachatewi's pricing as it's quite central.
I see. The point of having housing prices is to compare living costs across different neighborhoods, so it's listed every other station (or more) to tell the price difference. If you want to know Rachatewi's housing price, you can check out fazwaz.com where we got all the information. As for summaries, some stations don't have much else to summarize other than what's already said in the video, plus the video would become too long. But thank you for your feedback! I will take it into consideration when editing the next video.
Good Video👍
Thank you so much!
Do kids need to pay for tickets for both BTS and MRT?
Kids under 90cm height can use BTS and MRT for free
Great video A wealth of information of the different areas of Bangkok. Brings back nice memories of travelling on the BTS earlier this year.
Thank you for your compliment! Glad it brought back memories of Bangkok for you!
Amazing. This is a treasure trove of information. I love the format and looking forward to more!
Thank you so much! I'm glad you like it. New episode is in the making :)
@@BangkokLifestyleUpdates woohoo!!! Can’t wait for it!
Nice !!!
Thank you!!
Very informative. Easy to understand. thanks
Thank you!!
Wow lovely video very informative.its better than reading a travel book about Bangkok. Thanks for the great job ( im coming to Bangkok in 18 of May)
Thank you so much for your compliment !! That means a lot to us ♥️ hope you enjoy your time in Bangkok!
Wow missing Thailand 🇹🇭🎉🎊 Wow cute 🥰 Congratulations wish you happiness ❤🎉
Glad that we brought you some memories about Thailand 🇹🇭
🤌
grazie 😜
Awesome video!! ❤ I found mixt mall right behind Chatuchak as a good alternative too. They sell with a bit of markup, but its air-conditioned, and it opens everyday.
Thanks for sharing! That's a great option consider how hot Chatuchak can get!
Super informative and helpful video 👍
Glad you liked it!
If I get it correctly, the BTS only have 3 lines? the rest are MRT? Is the Rabbit card usable for MRT line as well, OR is there a daily pass like the BTS?
Good question! What makes things complicated is actually who owns and operates which line: The 3 skytrain lines mentioned in the video (Light Green, Dark Green, and Golden Lines) are all owned and operated by BTS. The two new skytrain lines (Yellow Line & Pink Line) are owned by MRT and operated by a joint venture with BTS, so Rabbit Card is accepted by Yellow Line and Pink Line. But the other MRT lines (Blue Line, Purple Line) are owned and operated by MRT, so Rabbit Card doesn't work for these two lines. MRT does not offer day passes now. *the owners and operators are not named BTS or MRT exactly but I will not go into details here to make things more confusing.
@@BangkokLifestyleUpdates I see, thanks for the thorough explanation❤
This needs more views
Thank you so much!!
You said the one-day pass is for BTS green line? Can the one- day pass use for all BTS station in Silom line, Shkhumvit and gold line?
Sorry, I should've have been more specific. The one-day pass works for both light green line (Sukhumvit line) and the dark green line (Silom line), but not for the gold line.
Excellent very clear speaking very helpful as well finding your way round. Thank you the best I seen yet about The BTS skytrain well done.
@@michaelsmithy5814 Thank you Michael!!
I should visit that cat
Meowth, that's right!
Do we use the same ticket if our trip uses both green lines?
Yes, the same ticket. When you purchase the ticket on the machine, you can just choose your final destination, and interchange inside the station, no need to go out.
After searching numerous videos, this was the most clear explanation for using the system. One question: I've heard that if you have a Visa card with a chip, it's possible to tap it to pay for fares as you enter a station. As you tap it to exit the system, it will calculate the fare. Is that correct?
Thank you so much for your compliment! That definitely encourages us to make more info guide videos in the future 🥰 As for tapping Visa card, that works for MRT, which is the underground train system (not related to BTS). As far as I know, the Visa card needs to be a credit card with a chip.
@@BangkokLifestyleUpdatesThis is good information to know. Thanks.
Me after watching the video: i should go visit Ratchayothin.
I agree! Ratchayothin is a place where you can spend a whole day without feeling bored!
Professional, informative and good. Along the same lines as Bangkok-Pat but different. What is missing is a face in front of the camera that would raise the quality to another level and increase the number of followers. Thanks.✨🙏
Thank you for your compliment and suggestion!❤️ Bangkok Pat came up in my feed when I was doing research on the BTS stations and he has been a great inspiration for me since! As for being in front of the camera, I don't feel comfortable with it yet but maybe in the future I will :)
🙌
let's go! 🙌 🙌 🙌
1:12 "Sai Mai" (สายไหม) mean "Silk thread", NOT "late or not" which has the same pronunciation. This is the same "Sai Mai" as in "Sen Thang Sai Mai" (เส้นทางสายไหม) i.e. The Silk Road.
Wow! Thank you so much for the correct information! "Silk thread" sounds so beautiful ❤️
Also the name of cotton candy
@@stateofthearth Wow thank you! I learned something new again!
Looking forward to your Pink Line review, like stations near New Lumpini Stadium
Will do!
So much effort into one single video, can’t wait for my next BKK trip 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
❤You nailed it!! Will definitely follow your journey!!
Thank you so much 🤗 Can't wait to explore together in our next episode!
Excellent video. Well put together. Some great ideas for future exploration in Bkk. Interesting to learn what the names of the stations mean.
Glad you enjoyed it!!
interesting video! Keep going Sis. you show different POV, but Sai Mai ( สายไหม ) seems to be a joke for than fact.
Thank you for your encouragement!!❤️ As for "Sai Mai" meaning "late or not", yea I think it's more of a joke or urban legend instead of a fact that's agreed upon by locals and historians alike. But I appreciate that such interpretation depicts the remoteness, which might have discouraged some people from visiting, turned out to be a pleasant surprise for us when we discovered the charm of Sai Mai 😊
you are a metro master now
A station a day, keeps the newbie away 😂
