How I fitted extra drawers to my RV
Many campervans don't come with enough drawer storage which is unacceptable in a mobile dwelling with precious amounts of moving space.
Here is a short video with my take on how to deal with the problem.
Thanks for watching!

How I reorganised the storage space in my RV.

I'm sure I'm not the only person who is guilty of leaving a camp site and dumping all the camping related paraphernalia in a heap in the storage compartment. Here is a short video of my method of tidying the system up using metal shelving from Lidl €20 approx and a handful of bungy chords on my 2002 Bürstnere 747S. Take care when screwing things into the wall of your RV to not use screws that a...

How I insulated and clad my steel shed
มุมมอง 255K3 ปีที่แล้ว
An instructional video on how An Eegit with a spanner can tackle the insulation and cladding of the interior of a steel garden shed using minimal tools and budget. Time-lapse format with no vocal information. This video was shot and edited using Samsung S9 and related applications only.
What did you do to keep the inside from sweating? I live in south Louisiana.
Great video. Exactly what I was looking for. Jack of all trades, master of none, for the win.
hey hows the metal building holding up? thinking about building one this sort of style but worried it wont be strong enough (6x5m)
What did you use to fix the 12mm plyboard to the metal struts of the shed?
@@BigJProductions self tapping screws with 8mm hex heads. And a torque drill
Apologies if this has already been asked. But did have any issues with cold bridging/condensation?
@@mickdobbs5443 I didn't. The boards are still very dry
Ah that’s good. Do you have any vents in your shed?
@@mickdobbs5443 The apex of the roof isn't sealed
So how was the result? Does it stay warm in there?
After 5 minutes I couldn't take it anymore. I can't believe you would let folks see this!
So what would you do differenlty.?
Did you do the roof the same way? Trying to figure out how to insulate my shed corrugated metal roof and dampen down rain now at the same time, any tips? Thanks!
How much did all cost
WHat differences in heat temps did this make? Looks easy to do
i also would like to know
I watched your video and did the strengthen boards in my building. The only difference is I used a full 4x8 sheet of polypro, foil against the metal. I cut a 2 inch strip the length and applied it to the foil side. That way there is a gap between metal wall and foam board. I realize we all are doing the best we can, as there is no "Standard" way. Thank you for your video, you did an awesome job.
Very fast worker
Brilliant! Thank you
Great job bosco fair play, can i ask what size is the shed?as im looking to buy one in the spring and will need it to be at least 10 feet wide and 14 feet long, your shed looks a decent size, great idea putting the beams in for a more rigid structure and for hanging stuff off
It's a bigun 60 foot long, over 3 rooms and 14 foot deep. Kilcoole Sheds built it.
If you don't mind I know a better way to install the insulation boards...
Elaborate please
@@rachelak2701 hang the insulation board Under the sheathing...before the sheathing is hung. If the sheathing is already up ,simple.. It's already measured and precut ,longer fasteners, and trim adjustments. You'll have a completely sealed barrier that doesn't conduct heat/ cold through the metal framing....
Hey mate what did you lay down before the word mate ??
Thankyou so much for the only video I can find of cladding the interior of a typical metal agri shed. It’s given me hope that I can make mine not only look better but warm in case I get change of use in planning one day. Thankyou
I'm glad to have been of help 😁
Yes! I’ve searched the internet for this exact type of video and this is the only guy I could find ❤ such a gem
You truly are an eegit with a spanner even though you didn't use one you tool hahahahaha 👍
Very Very good sar
Perfect. Save all the drama. Just let me watch you do it right. Great video!
great video, very helpful. Does the insulation fill the whole gap between the tin and the ply or is there an air gap in between?
The ribs of the shed wall are voids.
Can l ask where you got the metal brackets ?
My local hardware store. They are in the section where the bolts and screws etc are kept.
@@aneegitwithaspanner6373 Thank you sir .
Beautiful Giving me a great idea 👍❤️
Are those 4'x8' sheets
Yes
There like fridges in the winter and when's it warm o my days like a sauna
Great video , thank you
Up the dubs , see the reg on the car
worst music. good vid
Great video. Exactly what I am after. A minimalist style, from start to finish, including the tool you used.
Yeah bloody sick of those American videos "Hey partners, so this here is the InsulaSafeDeluxeMagic 5000. It comes in three colours. Puke Green, Bloodclot Red, and Rusty Brown." bla bla bla
you screwing ply to strengthening beams?
Yep
Great video and straight to the point, I’m needing a 12metres by 4 metres garage and looking at different options, did you buy this and put it up yourself? Thanks.
Thanks for watching! I had a local company come in and assemble the shed on top of a concrete plinth that I had poured. It took them 4 days ir so to finish.
Thank you for posting this simple, short video…very helpful to have a visual reference.
beams at start of video, whats the dims?2 x 4? Also looking to hang a tv on back wall ,do you think beams/wall would take a bracket and TV ?thanks
Yes they are 2×4 beams. I made them strong enough to take cabinets full of tools so yes they should manage a TV with no problems. Thanks for watching!
@@aneegitwithaspanner6373 L brackets and self tappers into steel frame?
@@johnnyboy4711 following - about to do the same here!
Great video. Gave me some good ideas for my 12x10foot shed.
Love it. Great job!
Great to see someone actually using a hand saw. A dying art, what with so many choices of electrical tools available !
Wish I could afford electrical saws! 🤣
How has it held up 🙂? And how did you attach the insulation, to fit and squeezed it in?
The panels i fitted on the video are still good. The shed still isn't finished (life getting in the way) As you can see in the video the insulation is jammed in on a tight fit so don't need any other glueing etc. Thanks for watching!
Great job can you tell me where you got insulation sheets and thickness please
75mm from my local hardware store in Co. Wicklow. Any Chadwicks type builders merchants will stock them. They are commonly known as Kingspan sheets but you don't need to buy the Kinspan brand. I used Quinn as you can see. Thanks for watching.
Great video, made me laugh as well, lots of energy. ....from Ireland
Great video! May I ask how it's holding up a year later? Any condensation? Are you using an AC?
The shed does suffer from condensation but the ply board is showing little in the way of deterioration. I will EVENTUALLY get the rest of the shed insulated including the roof. I will post a video then. Thanks for watching!
what the name of the insulation and wood boards you used?
This is the insulation board I used... mybuildingsupplies.ie/shop/building-supplies/insulation/floor-insulation/quinntherm-floor-insulation/quinntherm-floor-insulation/?attribute_pa_size=50mm-2-88m2&gclid=Cj0KCQjw-JyUBhCuARIsANUqQ_Jd4vp3tuXoTIjkr3RzjSC8-rQkWBmRsSjVscLAIYBhxjSm79XMO8saAuakEALw_wcB And the board was 13mm or half inch plywood Thanks for watching
thank you. keep up the good illustrations... they are much appreciated
Nice cameo shot of the young helper. Thanks for the inspiration. Trying to decide on a wood or steel building. Your video is swaying my decision towards steel.
Thanks for watching!
very nice!
What are thoes angle brackets you used for the 2x4 ?? I'd like to use the same ones. Thanks.
I bought a quantity of generic angle brackets from the hardware suppliers. Only a few cent each. Thanks for watching
well insulated by why not use OSB much cheaper than the ply but Jeez Awful Musak, ,
Do you have problems with condensation inside your garage
How are you finding the insulation. Is there anything you'd change or add to it. Looking to do something similar.
This insulation board is much more efficient than the wool type. As I fitted it I could feel it seemingly radiate warmth.
@@aneegitwithaspanner6373 cheers for that. I'll work on it in spring. Bloody price of materials in this country at the moment is scandalous. How are you finding the spaces between the insulation. Particularly the steel beams.
Thanks I used spray foam in any gaps. Another suggestion would be to 'flock the steel tubes by glueing material to them.
Might be a silly question but whats the point in the extra wooden beams? Is it for screwing in the ply after? I am doing this soon with a very similar steel frame shed
Not silly at all! Yes mostly for attaching the ply sheets as the gaps are wider than the sheets and if the wood wasn't there the ply would bow outwards but also for attaching things like shelving or cabinets etc in the future. Thanks for watching!
I would have taped up with aluminium foil tape on all the butt joints of the PIR slabs to create a vapour barrier. That is essential.
I have water coming in under my bottom rail Every where. American Carpet. Says they don't Gurentee. Water coming in base like wtf. Why build the Garage. Anyone have a anser. I tried silicone still coming in it's Crazy.
I had the same problem so I put down a concrete floor that was level with the box section steel that runs along the bottom of the walls. I then painted the floor to seal it. Water can't flow up hill so no more water coming in under the walls.
@@aneegitwithaspanner6373 Thank you. I'll try that.
Have them come back and disconnect the bottom of your metal siding and put a drip ledge under that, then reattach the siding. After that, the water that runs down the siding won't run into the building.
The weakest point is the cross on your ply timber. You should offset them like brickwork. Other than that great job.
True but it is not structural so I question if it matters.
@@DavesShed yeah, not holding up any heavy loads...
