Empire of Flames and Thorns is a good one. It’s a good start to a series. The ending was so twisty

Hi April!!! I'm so glad you joined sprints last night on Jess' channel! I Actually HAVE read the After the Plague series and I LOVE IT!!!! I'm obsessed and I just realized she released a newer book that I missed in that series so I"m gonna do a full reread this year! I also LOVE The Blackened Blade (think I mentioned that last night)! I have Metal Slinger on my TBR.

Loved the cat cameo 😂😂😂. Toootally agree on Metal Slinger. I was haaaating it at first. The writing had so many issues and the pacing was a bit too quick for my taste, but that ENDING…jaw on the flooooor. Can’t wait for book two!! -Tabatha

I'm actually listening to Lights Out now and I'm having a blast! It was recommended for fans of Butcher and Blackbird so of course I had to🥰

Metal slinger made me so mad, and yet, I can’t wait for the rest of the series.

Oh now I am even more excited for Metal Slinger. I am reading with my book club this month but I like to wait until just before it to actually read the book so all the tidbits are still fresh in my mind.

My favorite was A Shadow in the Ember by JLA, but it was a reread. My favorite after that was A Heart of Frost and Scars by Pam Godwin (book 3, frozen fate trilogy)

Thanks for bring some of these books to my awareness this year the ones I read I enjoyed. I am also curious how close to the 100 books read you have come in the past. I agree on arbitrary nature of counting books, probably page count would be a better thing to count.

The Highwayman’s Folly and the sequel are on my kindle tbr for 2025. Also Get Thee On My Lawn which I remember you loving. I also have The Games With The Orc and Mind Palace (also because of Becky). Honestly From Blood and Ash is not worth investing time in reading. I dnf’d after reading the 4th book. They are so drawn out and repetitive and the main character is super annoying. So you won’t be missing anything unhauling that haha

I definitely think the audiobook made Lights Out! I don’t think I would have liked it as much if I had just read it physically.

No idea what my favorite of 2024 is yet. For Romantasy, it is probably Glow of the Everflame

Lights Out was sooooo much fun. That Time I Got Drunk and Saved A Human is my favorite in the series so far, I will read ANYTHING Kimberly Lemming writes! such a fun list

I read the How I Got Drunk and Saved a Human first and didn't feel lost, it's nice when an author knows how to give just enough to let a book be read and enjoyed.
