A rare video footage of the Romanian military from the 90's - found this gem and decided to share it for all enthusiasts. Typical VHS quality and typical 90's music. Keep in mind that conscription was still on during the 90's, even after the fall of communism. Enjoy this piece of history!

The Romanian Land Forces (Forțele Terestre Române) are the terrestrial branch of the Romanian Army. They have a good standing among the other NATO countries and are well known for being professionals. Involved in the war against terrorism and peace keeping missions, they have been deployed to both Iraq and Afghanistan, also serving alongside their allies all over the world.

Hard to find any reference photos of the Romanian army in the early 90s. Are they wearing the leaf camo here or the fleck? Hard to tell
Romania had it's own camos in the 90's, the M90 and the M94. We never used Flecktarn.
@@johndmitrikozak2441 By "fleck" I meant M94. Do you know if M90 was used in this video? I'm trying to gather information as to the field gear and equipment used during the short period it was used.
@@GearReview23 if you pay attention at the video, it was filmed in 1992. M94 would be introduced 2 years later. So every soldier here uses the M90.
@@johndmitrikozak2441 Got it. Is some of the equipment left over from the rsr? Such as the boots, the belt and the ammo pouches?
@@GearReview23 there still is a lot of 90's gear around. I myself am a huge collector of Romanian gear, I have everything from present day down to the 50's, the RPR period, only infantry gear, full equipment. Want to go even more in time to the WW2 and WW1 period, still some gear left but very very expensive from the world wars period.

M-am săturat să tot șterg comentarii de ură și jigniri la adresa Armatei Române. Dacă tot sunteți așa de curajoși și de experți, mai ales aici în mediul virtual, de ce nu vă înrolați? Poate dintre voi vor fi câțiva care vor aduce niște bine meritate schimbări! Dacă nu, abțineți-vă, deoarece orice comentariu jignitor va fi șters!
Multi nu realizeaza ca avem oameni foarte buni in armata. La multe dintre exercitii, le-o cam dam peste nas armatelor mari. Buba si problema cea mare este echipamentul, care in multe dintre situatii este insuficient, invechit sau lipseste total. Trebuie o reforma masiva in ceea ce priveste tehnica: cumparat cu grija, la preturi convenabile si eliminate total bisnitarelile din spatele magazinelor de "specialitate" sustinute de generalii de carton. Pace!
