    Hello, my crusher hat has a metal stake in it, this makes it impossible for me to leave the cap crushed, no matter how much I crush it it ends up returning to normal, does anyone know how to remove this stake?

    Compare to an original cap. The Chinese one is better. I notice no cord on either one. They both look good though.

    I just recently purchased a numbers matching g43 with a VERY RARE SAME numbers matching scope and mount as the rifle! Also came with the original scope box that was carried around the shoulder of the German who carried it. Purchased it at $12,000. It belongs in a museum. I often find myself holding it in my house for hours just admiring it. It’s impossible to find a original numbers matching rifle with the exact numbers matching scope and mount that it originally came with!

    Interesting that a lot of them had Heer/Army eagles on their SS hats. I wonder why they didn't opt for the SS eagle. Was this mixmatching generally permitted for all SS personnel?

    I believe that Fred Poddig and I were the very first to blank adapt the G (or K) 43 to blank fire. I used the inside the muzzle thread method that took a set screw with a small hole. I also used this method to blank fire a Sten SMG. Look closely at the film BRIDGE OVER THE RIVER KWAI. The Stens used in the film had set screws inserted at the muzzle. Downside? Be certain to remove the internal BFA after reenacting! I noted no difference when my modified G43 was used for live fire. Who am I? The founder of the WWIIHRS. Get me book: A BRIDGE TO TIME, A Re-enactor's Journey.

    Came across your videos this week and this particular one, yesterday! Loved what I saw here and faffed about on the web, finally getting PW Hatex up there....😜 Anyhow, had a good look through the hats and didn’t order this one but I did order the other type, the one with the all metal insignia.....couldn’t believe how cost effective he is....Wow! So, he reckons that it’ll be done by Thursday of next week, which is amazing and I’m going to drop him a line about a Bergmutze! He’s stopped doing these but they appear a bit chunkier than the other types of Einheitsfeldmutze, so I’ll see if he won’t do me one in Dark Navy Blue, no insignia....just a plain cap Re Uniform Information (SS): Can I suggest that you look for “A Collectors Guide To: The Waffen-SS” by the British Senior Police Officer, Robin Lumsden. You’ll find it second hand on Amazon and it’s an inexpensive buy. The book may make you reappraise what you’re actually looking at, in those other books that you already have and it kind of realigns the SS Cap issue business entirely, as well as explain the timeline for RZM suppliers, before that structure was finally thrown open to the wider fraternity of Tailors. I’ve enjoyed your videos. The only suggestion that I’d make is this, spend more time holding the camera on each item, you tend to whizz it about and viewers really want to get a better look at stuff? Anyways, all the best to you and keep it coming.....you’re getting good at this stuff!

    I just bought this same cap. Terrific quality. Took about 2 weeks for mine to arrive. Is there a way to get the moulded shape to stay? No wire so it tends to pop up and sit up a bit stiff. I'd highly recommend this cap also it's fantastic quality.

    how do you age a Visor Cap?

    • @romano7914
      @romano7914 ปีที่แล้ว

      The same way you age a tunic. burn it, and shave it a bit. However, be more careful as wool on caps are generally thinner than tunics. This only applies to CRUSHERS, as with regular visor caps, you'd generally keep them in nifty condition

    I’ve ran AWB in my Gewehr 43. They do work I gotta have a BFA .140 never had a issue. AWB G43 8mm blanks are low pressure so they reduce the powder from destroying your firearm. I know these Gewehr43/K43 are 80 years old. Like you said they are stupidly expensive and always take good care of them. Mine is a AC44 D-block serial number 2***. Ive spoke to Robb from Atlantic wall blanks he said today he can make more G43 blanks don’t know when? But hopefully soon. Right now it’s getting hard to get Red tip blanks made by PPU. The guy who makes those are out of Czechoslovakia stop making blanks and continues production making live ammunition cause of the Ukraine war right now. So my best opinion is start making your own G43 blanks (if you can) there’s another guy in the US who makes 8mm long for G43 he goes by Joe Swanson blanks for 100 rounds $108.00 + shipping $28.00 ain’t bad (but sucks for the price) his rounds are hot he recommended BFA (Blank Firing Adapter) set at .175 (Metric drill bit 4.5) oh and I’m out northern Indiana/Illinois (Chicago) attached to the 353rd Infanterie Division 941 InfanterieRegiment 5.Kompanie (2nd Zug)
