Thank you very much! Polly is a superstar 😃
You looked pretty good there, my fried!! Freddie looked a bit fresh, though!! Get better soon, my friend!! Your friend, the Retired Paramedic and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦
Ah thank you very much! He was very happy to be going fast and jumping I think haha! Much better now thank you ☺️ xx
@eventing.sir.freddles Glad to hear that you're feeling better from when this video was taken. Stay safe, and get out riding more!! LOL 🤣 I've got 2 stallions that have made it to the Royal Winter Show in Toronto, and this was their first year of being campaigned!! So proud of them!! They are half-brothers who act like geldings around mares. I taught them that at a show was not the time to be a stallion!! LOL 🤣 But they are doing just show jumping this year. They are jumping 1.30m right now, and they are both 8 year olds. I've been training them from the time they were born. They were born a day apart, same sire different dams . I've known them their whole lives. I would enter them in shows as 4 I 5 year olds. Then get there, and withdraw them. But that allowed me to be on the showgrounds. So I would tack them up and just ride them around the whole showground. Getting them used to the sights, smells, and sounds and all of the people as well. If they acted at any time like a stud, my voice changed, and would come out as a growl, and I'd tell them, "That'll do!! Walk on!!" It's worked! All show season, we had people coming up to the trailer and talking to the owner, and they would be complementing the owner on how well their geldings were turned out. Geldings? You're mistaken! Both of them are stallions!! The look on their faces was priceless to see!! One girl was on a mare who was in season, and both boys just kept munching on their hay as they were tied outside of the trailer!! So we're off to the big city of Toronto in November!! Your friend, Jenn 💖
You didn't look gross at all. You looked your usual lovely self. Polly is great. You and Freddie did really well.
Ah thank you so much 🥰 xx
Congratulations on moving up to novice level.
2 rosettes!!! Well done!! ✨️💖🎉🎉
Thank you! ❤️
Freddie is looking amazing! 😍
Thank you! 😄
I consider Freddie to be essential viewing and so therefore this is my first video of the day. Good morning from Australia 🌏🦘🪃🐨.
Awww I love this, thank you! Have a great day! 🥰
I know I’m 2 years late 😅 but I found this video as I’m hoping to take my exracer to his 3rd event at poplar this September. Do you use calmers with your boy at all or? Any tips as mine is very hot and we have a ditch problem!
Hey! Ah great, how has he been at the previous 2? I do give freddie ponease calmer before we compete, it takes the edge off a little and helps him focus on the job whilst supporting his gut too. The ditch in the 80 at poplar is very small. If it was me I’d come back to trot and have your leg on to support, get ready to slip the rein so you don’t jab him and keep looking up. Good luck xx
Oh bless you both what a crappy day for it. Well done, some great riding! He's looking fab! Facilities look amazing!
Thank you so much! Awful weather but it didn’t matter 😃😃 xx
Well done danielle and Fred! And Rob - what a saint in that weather!! Really well-ridden, we all know how it feels to lack confidence, but you are going from strength to strength again xx
So nice to see you and Freddie out and about.
So chuffed for you!! The only thing I would say is try to keep him between your hands and legs. When you came to the ditch, you needed to support him a bit to show him that it wouldn't hurt. Horses suffer from PTSD if they've had pain in their back for any reason. So they think, if I do that, it's going to hurt. So they stop dead. That's where you need to be a bit stronger with the legs to move them on. Same when you came out of the water and headed to the jump after it. He went into the water just fine, but you lost contact with your legs, and he didn't feel secure enough to jump the jump after the water. I was so chuffed to see you represent it to him again by going through the water and presenting the jump again. The second time, you kept contact with your legs, Freddie felt your confidence, and he jumped it fine. Do you see what I'm saying? He needs that leg contact to make him feel your confidence to take the jump. When your leg isn't there, he avoids the jump. But overall, I was really chuffed to see you both out there jumping together again!! The 2 stallions I've been training for 3 years have gone to 2 shows so far this summer over here. One was a straight Show Jumping Show of 1.05m, and the other was a Combined Dressage/Show Jumping Show. They've done very well at both shows. The second show was 1.10m. Magician's Calypso had a score of 76 2 in Dressage, and Pete's Dragon, and yes, that's his registered name, LOL 😂, had a score of 75 5. They went double clear in the show jump and came first and second in their second show ever!! I've already started doing some cross-country training fences of only 90 cm right now with them both for maybe the end of the season. People couldn't believe that they were stallions either. There were a lot of mares in season at the shows, and they totally ignored them!! But I've been bringing them to shows for the last 2 years to get them used to the atmosphere of the grounds and the sounds. They couldn't believe it!! They all thought they were geldings because of how they acted!! So chuffed with the boys!! They are the same age and are half-brothers. Anyway, just playing catch up with you. Again, so chuffed for you!! Your friend, the Retired Paramedic and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦
So happy that Freddie's back has fully recovered. Fingers crossed for my horse's sacroiliac issue. So keen to watch that I'm watching this on my phone because I have a family member visiting.
What a great day to have a jump lesson!!! You looked like you were having fun!! Which I'm so chuffed to see!! And Freddie looked raring to go!!! Your friend, the Retired Paramedic and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦 PS I took one of the stallion brothers to his first show this past Saturday. We did 2 classes of 1 m 05 , and he never touched a rail in either class!! Out of 52 horses, at his first show, he came 4th overall !! We had ppl stopping by afterward, while his owners were there, telling them what a gem he was and what a "stunning looking "gelding" they had!! They were stunned to learn he was a stallion!!! Not once did he call out to any of mares in season, not once did he blow hinself up, he was a perfect gentleman!! I trailered him to shows, along with his half brother, another stud, to shows, for the last 2 years. I'd pay entrance fees for the shows, but withdraw as soon as we arrived, but I'd tack up, then ride them around the show grounds, getting them used to the sights and smells and ride them around. Then, if they started to act up, act like a stud in any way, I'd say, That'll do, with a slight growl in my voice, but with a light contact on their mouth. They go in a low port Mylar bit. It works for them. And when they would relax, we'd walk on. But, next weekend, on Saturday, it's his brothers first show. So we'll see how that goes!! You did well. Keep that in mind. At least you are trying!! Keep trying. It'll all work out. Just remember the rules. 1 Breathe and 2. HAVE FUN and 3. See 1 & 2!!! Your friend, the Retired Paramedic and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖
What a fantastic lesson Danielle!! I actually watched it the whole way through which is unlike me - will have to talk to you about it when I see you! Well done for putting on your brave pants!
What a lovely sunny day you had for riding, makes a nice change from all the rainy vlogs people have been posting this year! ☀️
Fab to see you out having some fun! Take your time and enjoy it x
So glad to see you and Freddie having fun. It's good news that your lorry is running well again.
There's nothing wrong with how you are getting your confidence back!! And don't let anyone tell you any different!! Freddie still enjoyed the outing. He still obviously enjoys jumping, and so do you!! Building confidence after a fall is different for everyone. And if you are comfortable doing it this way, then you do it this way!! Just remember to present Freddie to the jumps from both reins, and all will be well. Good job!! I'm so chuffed to see that smile at the end!! Your friend, the Retired Paramedic and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦
Very nice so enjoyable Xx
Woooo go Fred!! He’s got wings!!!!
Ah, it must have been fab seeing him popping those fences! It will give you so much confidence knowing he can do it after seeing it....looking forward to when you're back on board and gaining that confidence.
Definitely!! It’s helped me mentally so much! We had a jump yesterday and both loved it 😃😃
Sometimes, when you feel you've lost confidence, it's wise to get someone else to ride your horse so you can actually see what's going on. You're being very wise here. Letting Harry take him on. To take him to a few shows, let him get his feet wet again with jumping with someone more experienced, then take lessons to get your confidence back. Who knows? Maybe by the end of this year, we'll be seeing you do an 80 cm course!! I think that would be bloody brilliant!! I know how hard it is when you've lost confidence in yourself, but Freddie showed no signs of a sore back at all. He was actually taking Harry to the fences!! Which is a good thing. It shows he's still keen to jump!! Your friend, the Retired Paramedic and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦
Absolutely! I’m so glad I did 😃 I just had a jump on him and popped round a little 85/90 course with no problems, it was SO lovely! Thanks Jenn 🥰 x
@eventing.sir.freddles I'm so chuffed to hear that!! Remember, everyone who jumps horses has lost confidence at some point. And I do mean EVERYONE!! There are 2 things you have to remember. 1. BREATHE and 2. Have fun!! Those are the only things you have to remember to do. And everything will come right with time the more you jump. So you only jump 80 and 90 cm. Who cares!! You're having fun and so is Freddles!! And that's all that matters! Jenn 💖
You have done exactly the right thing, if you were feeling nervous then Freddy would get that from you, let him regain his confidence that jumping is not stressing or painful then you will be a different rider xx
Thank you! Absolutely - I’m now looking forward to having a jump after seeing him loving it a few times and not worrying about it 😄 xx
Freddles has got some pop in him!! How high were thise jumps??!!! 💖💖
Haha he is very cool! These were around 1m - 1.05. He was flying around 1.15m with Harry last week. They can go back down to 95cm when I have a go soon haha! X
That was really interesting. So glad that you have such great help with Freddie.
Thank you, I am super grateful to Harry! 😃
Well done Freddles! He's looking super these days 🤩
Thank you! 😄🥰
Such an interesting lesson. Your videos are a must watch. Sir Freddie is one of the nicest horses on TH-cam.
Ah thank you so much 🥰 I love these lessons, they’re great! Xx
Well done! Me and Sam have been saying we’d like to go. Let us know when you go again x
You took in a lot. Those shoulder in's were really starting to look really good by the end. And the trot work, Freddie did that very well. You just have to remember to sit the canter and make a channel with your hands and legs for Freddie to stay straight. That will help you both out. Your friend, the Retired Paramedic and Horse Trainer in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦
Thank you very much Jenn 🥰 xx
@@eventing.sir.freddles You're welcome!! Jenn 💖
He looks fab! Well done.
You looked great with Freddie. And I'm sure what you commented in your voice-over was correct. That he had his tongue over the bit. That's what it looked like to me, as a former FEI Judge. And I think the scores were quite fair as well. Work on that center line, though, and that will greatly improve your mark, as well as getting him around your leg more in your circles, for a more supple look. Your friend, the Retired Paramedic, a Horse Trainer and former FEI Judge in Ontario, Canada, Jenn 💖 🇨🇦
He did really well and he looks so good. Good morning from Australia 🌏🦘. First coffee ☕ of the day and it's still dark.
Evening from the UK! Thank you 😃 hope you enjoyed your coffee! X
Do the judges make concessions for age, experience etc, or are they judging on what they think it should look like? If so you can see your own improvement and take the good bits and work on the comments bits! Go point to point racing, it's much more friendly and fun,bit painful sometimes lol xx
No, it’s just judged on what they think it should look like. I definitely judge each outing against the past ones and don’t worry too much about placings ☺️ point to point looks so fun, but also a bit scary haha! Xx
Well done he looked great xx
Well done!! You did a fab job 👏🏻
Thank you 🥰
Gone up gullet size!!! Frustrating as regards saddle fit but proof that all the work that you are doing to improve his back and topline is working.
Definitely! It’s a good problem to have! 😃
Looks like Freddles was spooking at the horse in the arena next to you when he was hopping around during the Prelim test.
It's so nice to see Freddie progressing so well.
Thank you 🥰
He is looking fab!
Thank you! 🥰
Go mooey cob!! What a superstar! Well done all x
I would have had a meltdown too if I had been in your situation. Onwards and upwards for Freddie. Miss Macey is so awesome 💯
Honestly they are so worrying 🤦🏼♀️ she is a superstar, thank you! Xx
