Thank you for sharing this heart warming video. It's encouraging to see the good coming from the Municipalities efforts to help the unhoused stay warm this harsh winter.
My house payment will go up 39.24 a month with this new "assesment". If mil rates stay the same. I'm basically getting taxed on unrealized gains. I'm not planning on selling my house! All this is a money grab. Every year you all do a desk assessment and blanket increase every one's property with some random % increase to fill your coffers. I pay more and you can't even plow the streets when it snows.

This is the downtown park square in Anchorage Alaska. This was our Christmas tree lighting and is a once a year event.

This hasn't aged well. First snowfall of 2023 and Anchorage has been crippled. So much for being ready.
Were you even here last year? If you were here you must have forgotten last year the roads were clogged for weeks with less snow. More snow this year and the main roads are already cleared.
@@adidnac I was right here last year. Even though we had more snow, we still had better snow removal. The only reason the main roads are clear is because of the warmer weather recently. If you watch the video Bronson says that street maintenance will be ready for a storm like we like we had last year. Your comment further proves my point. We had less snow and they were greatly under prepared.
@@adidnac Thinking about it. We actually had more snow last year. We got right around 5 feet of snow in that one week last year. Last week we had just under 3 feet. Actually were you even here?
Shelter is not the solution to homelessness. I am homeless and have been for 4 years off and on , I notice many people who are more comfortable being homeless and lost the ability to live , and also there are illigals who come to USA and just leach from American free resource's. The only shelter or housing that should be built should only be for elderly homeless and real vets .

Not everyone on the street is on drugs,not everyone drinks. SOme people become homeless because of poor health and medical bills. To get a job you need an address, you need clean clothes and an ID card. These things must come first. We need agreements for the people who do drink abusively -must stop within 6 months and participate in a sobriety program. We need to place the people who are willing and able to work in some sort of rooming house. People must agree to a code of behavior or get kicked out. A big issue that is causing homelessness are that apartments are not affordable to people who make twice the minimum wage. There is one apt. management company in town that buys up all the apts., raise the rents hundreds of dollars after takeover,and removes ammenitites such as having a front office person who manages the building,etc.

We are the blue ticket destination for people in bush. Communities banish problem people for criminal activity and rather than dealing with their issues villages expect Anchorage to absorb their problems who then pass all the costs on to the property owners and business who in-turn pass the cost onto all of the people of Anchorage. Find a solution instead of making it more attractive.
