Sorry for the super late response. Not on here like that anymore. I believe it should still be the same process. If im not mistaken, it shoul automatically know you plugged it in without having to do what I did.

I don't remeber the exact size i used for mine but a normal rivet gun won't work, you need the bigger one for bigger rivets. M6 or M8 i think.

Tbh with you, I don't know about that one. You can go ahead and give it a try if you have an obd eleven but if not I would let you decide if you want to spend the money to try it out.

I do have the pro version. When I got it from amazon I paid $100 at that time. I don't think you can get it on amazon anymore.

Well tbh I just used an oem vw radio so it would be just plug and play. As long as that radio is just plug and play it should work with no issues. After market ones you need to buy a whole adapter so your amp and everything else works with after market radios. Could be the reason for the battery drain. Maybe the radio doesn't turn off with the car.

With all honestly you would not be able to get an oem vw radio that has bluetooth to work with your 2007 passat. You would have to find a way to take the bluetooth box form a newer vw car and install it to your passat since the 2007 passat never came with bluetooth option. Best is to go after market radio im my opinion.

Look in your glove box compartment. Look up when you open it and you should see an aux input. If not then yours didnt come equipped with one. Im sure you can add an after market one but have never done it myself

Thanks! Im glad it helps. I try to explain as best as I can because in most cars the rear doors are a bit different than the front.

Every radio has its own code so you have to use the code assigned to that radio. The code is supposed to be on one if the sides of the radio. If its not there you can call your local VW dealer ship to get the code using the serial number of the radio

By any chance did any of the wires touch causing spark? This could of caused a fuse to blow so I do recommend checking your fuses first to see if one of them might be blown.

​@@edwinmartinez2359 Thanks for the reply. I checked the fuses and everything seemed good. I went to a car service and the guy checked the wires that enter the drivers door. It seems like some of the wires are stripped, I suppose it's because they are old and when I opened the door panel somehow I managed to break them or something.

Ok so what you are saying is that your passat already came with a stock factory radio that has navigation? You still shouldn't run into any problems getting an after market radio. You will just need to buy the right harness adapter for your car. Make sure you go to a shop that are experts in selling aftermarket radios and harness so they can get you the one that will allow you to install one in your car. Prob wont be too cheap but i doubt it should be too expensive as well.

I believe any tweeter should work. As long as you get the right size speakers that fit the doors you can choose any aftermarket speakers you want to buy. Look up what size speakers your passat has and then look up that same size speakers you want to get after market

Whats up man! I didnt use a nut all I used was a size 10 bolt. I made sure it went in using my fingers first and then i used the ratchet to tighten it down. You can use ribets again if you want.

@@BallOut05 No problem man! Tbh i think you should be fine with out the ring as long as you buy the correct size speakers that fit the doors. Also you will be fine leaving that hole open.

Great question! It is not too old at all. You deff wont see full features that newer VW's have but it has enough for you to play around with. Deff worth the buy!

No problem at all! Deff will do the work just do the same thing I did in my video and you can enable it. 2006-2008 VW GTI and GLI are exactly the same through out these years.

I have the same car with the same issue so I ordered this same device and will arrive tomorrow - I hope it works as well as in this video! The universal VCDS cable just costs too much to be worth keeping when this AUX issue is about as big as it gets for you (like mine) so if this OBDeleven piece/app does it, this will be a legit multi-fix in the future.

I say go ahead and get the obd eleven. There are more features you can browse through besides just enabling the aux input. Vcds is too expensive and you will enjoy obd eleven better. Make sure you get the one for your os because they make an android version only and an apple version only

Ok here is the thing if you want to install the same radio from this video then you wont br able to use the bluetooth unless you get an actual after market radio

@@edwinmartinez2359 sorry for a late response I have I 2006 tdi mk5 golf and it has a Tiguan head unit in it I’m pretty sure but it doesn’t have Bluetooth that I know of

No worries at all. If the unit that came from the Tiguan has bluetooth then it wont work with your mk5 because that Tiguan has an actual bluetooth box that connects to the radio and you can not install that into the mk5 generations

Yes it does. They make a separate version just for iphone. If you are going to buy one make sure you search it as OBD eleven for iphone.

Sorry for the late response but if its exactly the same as the android version then you will be able to as long as your car has aux input from factory! Good luck and let me know if it worked.

Just plug them in if you can, if not, try soldering the wires to the speakers if you can and have one that way your wires dont come off the speakers. To hold the speakers I bought 8mm screws instead.

@@edwinmartinez2359 what thread on those 8mm? just got a b6 first day blew a speaker this vid is lifesaving came in clutch!

Glad it helped! I just used standard 8mm bolts to hold the speakers again. You can add rivets again if you have the tool for it but standard 8mm bolts were perfect for me.

My right rear door woofer just blew and I bought the replacement OEM (didn’t want to do an aftermarket to make things simpler) and the plastic trim removal but now I need to know what are the 8mm bolts you speak of because I’m finding the length of the tread to be hard to find !

I recommend you getting one like the one i installed if you wanna keep a oem one. Offers better sound than the one that the passat origanlly comes with!

The one with navi works too and the navigation should work as well. The only thing you wont be able to use will be the bluetooth.

If its locked you can get the unlock code from the dealer ship

I honestly dont remember the brand but i got them off amazon for $30 dollars. Just make sure you get the EXACT bulb for your headlight and type LED at the end and make sure its exactly the same design so it can be just plug and play.

The passenger light is for the airbag sensor ad yes you have to plug it back in. When you have a passenger on the front seat it detects someone is sitting there to activate the airbag but when its empty the pass air bag off light is illuminated because no one is sitting on the front pass seat.

You cant change the background on these. Also what do you mean by gas settings?

The headlight needs the cover to go back on or else water or dust can get inside the headlight and damage the bulbs. The LEDS have fans on them that will keep them cool either way.

Hi! Well first of all this radio comes stock on MK6 gti/gli models. You can find these locked pretty cheap on ebay and all you have to do is call vw and buy the code from them for the radio to unlock. I believe its $20 for the code. Also the bluetooth wont work on these since there is a bluetooth box that sits under the front passenger side seat and that comes stock with the mk6 models and cant be fitted into the previous generation ones.

Oh okay . I have a 14 Jetta . I wanted a factory radio but the touch screen one . I have the basic one now that just says Bluetooth on it lol I needed an upgrade . How do I ensure that I am not being scammed on eBay ?

Is it a 2.5 or the 1.4tsi? If you are talking about the basic skinny one then i think you wont be able to but no entirely sure. If you fee comfortable about ebay make sure you read the full description of the item and look at reviews to make sure the person is a legit seller

It’s a TDI . & yea that’s what I meant that long skinny one . I really wanted the radio you put in . But if the Bluetooth doesn’t work then I’ll just might have to keep the radio .

Is it a B5 passat? With the 1.8T? I dont know exactly how that radio is but im pretty sure you wont be able to fit the MK 6/7 gtis radio in your car. I recommend you getting and after market radio for your car since its cheaper to go that way for you
