Alex Anest is an American guitarist currently based in Southeast Michigan. His projects as a bandleader or co-leader have included The Alex Anest Organ Trio/Electric Four, Nomad, The Ann Arbor Guitar Trio, Delta 88, and Giraffe, among others. These projects focus on improvisation, groove, creativity, and most of all a commitment to connection, both among the group members and with the audience. This channel includes instructional videos, live performances, and other material pertaining to Alex's music.

The trick to creating the sound is to hold the “pinch” for two beats (1&) of the pattern of eighth notes (2&3&4&).
That's a great point. I have found that some students accidentally play this pattern in 7/8 because they don't do that. BUT, the key is to already have the thumb solidly playing quarter notes. This will help immensely.

If you put a capo on the fourth fret and play the bottom four string (D-G-B-E), they become (G-C-E-A). It is the same strings as a Uke and you can play the same chords as Pete Townsend plays on the Uke on the album. stewartgreenhill.com/ukulele/BlueRedAndGrey.html. Once you learn these chords, get an inexpensive Ukulele, you can play it on the Uke. A Soprano Uke is four steps away from the guitar chord, so a D chord formation is a G chord.
I have a uke but prefer to use the guitar, as I play it in a different key. Pete's singing is so high! You actually need to capo at the 5th fret to get the ukulele pitches.
