Thought I would ask in case you know, do you know are could you place a video of the location of the main fuse case where it is bolted at. that has the 30amp and 40amp and other one in it... Mine is just laying around and I would like to place it back at the original location... thank you
@MilesonHighway i dont have this quad anymore but check at the rear of the quad near the battery and voltage regulator..it will be a 30amp blade style fuse

I have been trying to fix the wiring to make it look better. I ran into a problem this one has a fuse box on it, and I found online a photo of it and it came off a 1989 toyota camry it looks identical to it. found it when trying to search for the location of fuse box on atv. can anyone tell me if this atv even is suppose to have a fuse box on it? and if so do you have a photo of what it looks like and where it is located at on atv? I am sending a photo to show the one that is on it that is apparently not even suppose to be on it because it came from a car. Thank you
@@MilesonHighway check under the rear side fender ..it should be in that area ..fuses are usually near the battery, voltage regulator is around there too.
Do you know what size the 6 bolts are that connect the sprocket to the gear box? Mine are gone

I did the same conversion. You will have major problems with the drive chain. the sprocket is too small and the chain starts to heat up above 300°
@Slavianko1 ya will go through chain but I planning to increase tooth/sprocket size on transmission..do you have pics of your build posted
I have videos here in my youtube profile but now with the new conversion. I removed the factory transfer case and replaced it with one I made myself. If you put on large gears you will have maximum speeds of 50-60km/h
@Slavianko1 plenty good enough for for me where ride it's mostly hills trails barely room to go fast so I'm really hoping to just going over small trail hill and get unstuck every now and then 😅

Hola, To remove lifters do I have to remove head cylinders?
@kuauhtliguerrier9036 after removing the valves head/cylinder head you'll beable to use a magnet to pull the lifters out of their respective holes

Did you remove the mixture screw, or clean the air passages?
@dvernst it's being a minute..I'm sure it's being done but it's good idea to count the turns to remove the mixture screw.

A friend of mine had the Honda ATC 200 S. 1984 model year. We had a blast for years on that thing.

You should be adjusting both wheel cylinders equally so the entire shoe engages the drum.

thanks brother, my gear case housing was pretty stuck and and thought the water pump bushing needed removal, but I just needed to hit it harder
How did you get the old one out? I can't get an angle or grip to pull it out.
You want to use something to tap it from the top face from opposite side to break the oring seal ..i just use long pieces of wood.

When you remove the chain tensioner, it will always come out fully extended, even if you have a new chain. The spring inside pushes it put while you lift the tensioner out. There's nothing pressing against the bottom.
for whats it worth man id take the valve covers off and look under there. make sure the valves are opening and shutting when they should and all the way. could be a broken rocker or bent push rod. your right it sounds like the timings out but idk how the pushrods go to the lifters then to the cam so i dont think there is a chain to jump. let us know what you find.
For brother..my next step is to check it the timing is off..or even the module could be faulty/shorten to ground..if these checks ok..then forsure topend coming off...never pulled HD topend so hoping its can be done easily without pulling the motor.

That long let ,I believe you said idle . Should I be able to run a piece of fine wire the whole way through it ? Top to bottom?
Yes..you should be able to ...i find the smallest wire perfect for cleaning idle jets is from wire brushes just pull one strand from the brush.

What size bolts to pull the stator with the puller?
Cant recall exactly but the puller is a harmonic puller it came with all sorts of sizes of bolts
Is the nut on the flywheel reverse thread? It looked like you were going clockwise to remove it.

Thanks for feedback but we didn't fabricate this frame..it was brought to us for complete re wiring. Quad has being sold.
Any plans on bringing the headers to a 4 into 1?
That would of being next step in this build as better topend and back pressure increases but this beast had being sold as is since then.
What did you do to fix it
Believe this quad hit a topend rebuild as its needs it anyway..thats piston ring, bee timing chain and tensioner...these quad is also know to have this type of noisy issues.
Do you by chance know if that starter drive gear (bendix) is the same for all models? I’m working on an 04 650 quest XT and that gear was pretty beat up on mine and would no longer spin. They discontinued it for the 650s and I can’t find it anywhere. The gear looks identical to the other motors. Thanks
I may be dealing with the same thing on my 04. Any progress on that? The starter is new, but when I hit the starter button it just sounds like the engine is locked up but it isn't. Is that what's going on with yours?
I have one 2. And I'm busy with it. Engine swapping. You did I nice job. Are you satisfied with this engine?
I have the same issue right now. Tried adjusting the valves and nothing. May try a smoke test if you haven't figured it out

Check for proper mounting grounds to the coils i believe there's also ground wire from one of the coil going to the chassis as well.

Ok that’s cool, what was the low compression issue, is that because of a low voltage battery? I’m having the same issues and about to lose my mind! Lol any help or advice would be appreciated thank you
These early sportsman has pre mature wearing of the exhaust lobe ..if memory serves me. Thats the last thing you'd want cuasing low compression...so aside from the regular suspect rings, piston, cylinder valves clearance..see what your lobes look like.

To day i was running on hi the pop off when to neutro and doesn't go hi and low just reverse and neutral what can be
Could internal issue with your shift mechanism..that means pulling the motor ..at very least first double check the shift linkage adjustments are properly adjusted.
Can you tell me where the top hose on the carb goes? I'm guessing it's a vacuum line?
Its being awhile but hoses like that on usually would be for overflow

Did get to take it on trail..too many things going on ..that motor now dropped in a my 2008 joyner Buggy almost complete for the summer
