Emma & Dave’s Travels

Join us on our travels where we aim to give you hints and tips if you have accessibility needs, specifically mobility issues, but also just generally share the fun we have on our trips.
Emma has a number of conditions but one in particular, called fibromyalgia, affects not just her mobility but also her fatigue levels. For those reasons she needs to use a wheelchair outside of our home. We aim to show you the kinds of barriers she faces being a wheelchair user and how we try to overcome them.
We want to show you though that having these kinds of limitations doesn’t mean she can’t enjoy life and we want to give you an insight in to how we deal with these kinds of issues to ensure Emma can still live her best life.

Chester Zoo, where apparently butterflies are Dave’s friends!
We visited Chester Zoo for our youngest grandsons birthday on a hot July day and enjoyed all the zoo has to offer, including a butterfly that took a particular liking to Dave.

Join us for our recent short two day break in Cardiff, visiting Cardiff castle, shopping, eating at Cardiff’s famous food market and visiting Cardiff bay. Animal Kingdom and poutine at Disney Springs

This was our day at Animal Kingdom at Disney World, Orlando, and then Disney Springs the same evening. We tried pongu lumpia and night blossom at Pongu Pongu in Pandora and watched the Featherer Friends in Flight show. After trying these we definitely do, they were so nice but can imagine the originals are even better
My family's had brilliant time
We had a nice day as well, plenty to do for everyone and some lovely food choices. Hope it’s back again next year
its unfortunate how wheelchair accessibility isnt the gold standard yet 😢
Infuriating, able bodied people never face these kinds of issues and don’t have to ask for help. Makes wheelchair users feel embarrassed having to ask strangers for help
