As an Irish Catholic this maybe be weird but there is something about the Guards Division that really hits the spot! Honour tradition and above all discipline! Come on the Mick's!
Fabulous. And seeing the old boys and the army cadets being involved as well this is something else. So so proud of all our armed forces. Second to none!
There are several attachments from other regiments, including Scottish regiments in their kilts, who were on parade today. That is why there is a mixture of uniforms. The tradition saffron kilts are worn by the Irish Guards drums and pipes band.
+marypfranc That is incorrect, they were infact part of the London Regiment which is made up of several companies who traditionally wear uniforms belong to antecedent regiments.
Olaf, its is called 'Star of the County Down' and the second tune is called 'The Holy Ground', third tune is the Irish Guards quick march 'St Patricks' Day'.
marypfranc Dont apologise! You're very much appreciated for uploading the parade. 2:08 just made me laugh as it reminded me of The Ministry Of Silly Walks with the bowler hats and umbrellas included :)
