Great video and thank you for sharing!
Holy Bat tree ! What a Awsome Christmas set up ! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Jim !
That's a serious book! th-cam.com/video/Ct5jazFogcg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ovieeiIjJNA6Il6O&t=54
Aside from the rust, it is a really nice book. Probably would have gotten a 9.0 if no rust.
Nice comics! Just curious, is that a tape tear on the bottom "T" at 7:11 mark?
Hi Jim! I was wondering if you have every Batman & Detective Comic Issue or do you have gaps in your collection?
I have every Batman title comic and Detective 300 to current.
@@jimhoustoncomicbookblog7212 Oh wow! Very impressive! Thank you for responding.
That’s an impressive collection. I wish I could’ve read those books back then. I started reading comics in the late ‘70’s. I was around nine years old. I only started seriously collecting until the late ‘80’s. I was able to keep and preserve some of the greatest books from the Copper Age. But what I wouldn’t do to have bought those books during the most active Neal Adams years.
Have a happy Christmas and wonderful time with family. The upgrades are great. With the prices in a more realistic range, upgrading does not break the bank anymore.
I agree. My upgrades now cost me less that the lower grades I purchased! Merry Christmas!
👍
I say always get you comics clean and pressed before grading if dont its like shooting yourself in foot and higher chance better grade and resell value.
How many vendor tables will be there?
Also a huge Star Trek fan growing up. I think I loved that show more than the Batman show at the time. My eldest daughter and wife love TNG series, and of course I enjoy all of the series, but the original will always be my favorite. You mentioned you sent some of the books to be graded so you could sell them; do you have a favorite website where you sell your books in case any of your viewers are interested in them? Enjoyed the video, have a great week Jim.
enjoyed the video. great books
Thank you!
These are awesome, Jim! Could be higher grades but they look great
I agree. Thank You for watching!
The art on the 235 takes me back to my childhood. It is such a great cover. Fun video. Thank you for sharing these with us.
Glad you enjoyed it
All Fantastic
I remember my friend having a recording of a Christian broadcast, that played records backwards and explained to parents, why kids should not listen to these songs. I don't remember which song they referred to, but when they played one song backwards it said; "turn me on deadman, turn me on deadman". Do you remember what song that was supposed to be from. Of course as young kids around then, we listened to every song and album that the preachers on the audio tape told parents that kids shouldn't listen too. LOL So nice that you have all your original comics from the 60/70s. I hope my ex-wife is happy I had to sell mine to pay for the divorce. Grrrrrrr 😠😠 I enjoyed watching you review all the books, thank you for sharing.
*New Subscriber!* Happy to be your #806! I love all your Batman books, but weirdly enough, I Really, really enjoy all the different BM t-shirts you wear even more! 😅 I just got done doing a binge watch on a bunch of your videos and saved the newest one for last. I can see we are similar in many ways, regarding that when you collect, you also collect other nic-nacs that go along with the character (like your Bat-a-rang-blade)! I did the same thing with my Conan, and my journey collecting Platinum age Weird Tales (mostly Conan story covers). I just finished (but haven't done a video of it yet), all of the books I wanted to collect for Conan, all the way back to Weird Tales Dec. 1932 for the 1st Conan story. I started watching your channel to see how to best start my next goal of Batman books. I have very few right now, but I tend to start out at the older books once I jump in, and I am hoping I get some tips on how to collect BM by watching your channel (regarding mostly the GA books), so I look forward to watching the rest of your videos. BTW - I first got married in 1984, so we have that in common as well. Sadly, that one didn't last, but my current wife and I have been together for 31 years. Stay safe and healthy brother, and above all, keep on making videos for us to enjoy. ~ Son of Crom
Gorgeous book in any condition. Cheers for sharing some golden nostalgia! 😃
What con did you go to
Awesome
Both of those are nice! New one is of course, extremely nice
Glad you liked the Batman upgrade!
I do like to upgrade my collection!
Your voice reminds me of Ace Frehley's, the original guitar player's voice of the band Kiss.
Must be my Bronx, NY accent.
Batman 244 is in my top 5 favorite covers all time. Love your channel Jim. Always happy when I see one in my feed
That is a sharp Neal Adams cover!
Good one Jim. Keep it up.👍
Thanks, will do!
I too enjoy ice water.
9.2 on your 241 is awesome! Fantastic copy.
Thank You! I agree!
Do you have a video on how you got your Batman 1? Love your attention to the 1-100 run. What else do you collect significantly?
Hi. I have Batman 1-200 and Spiderman 1-100 graded by CGC. I am getting 30 more comics graded now, mostly Neal Adams Batman covers.
Those are beautiful books, restored or not
Thank You! I agree!
I hope you put a Detective registry set up one day.
I think I will put up the Detective comics I have graded as a registry set when the last 30 books come back from CGC.
@@jimhoustoncomicbookblog7212 Can't wait to see them. Hoping for a video as well!
That Detective Comics 125 looks really nice for having so much black on the cover.
I agree. I'm glad it was not restored!
old comics are treasure. i used to go to this little comic shop that was so packed u could barely turn around in there. i would just linger and enjoy the atmosphere. great to see some of your collection.
I use to go to a book store that had comics off Webster Ave in the Bronx. I got the same feeling when I went in there.
How the stories. You have to read the books.
absolute insane books and grades and congrats on the CGCxJSA. My first submission should be back shortly.
I liked the way the Neal Adams books look in the CGC cases so I sent in a bunch more Neal Adams books to get graded.
Thanks Jim .
So cool. Thank you. Wish I was a kid again and saved all my comics.
Awesome collection, Batman is without question one of my all-time favorite characters. The oldest issue I have is #61, would love to have a few of those extremely early issues but the prices are way out of my budget.
Best buys for Golden Age Comics are not graded issues or restored issues.
@@jimhoustoncomicbookblog7212 Agree but when I look on ebay the prices even for those are crazy, I found a copy of issue #12 on ebay a few weeks ago, it was not graded, cover was detached, and it was in horrible condition and they still wanted $1200 for it.
Had to sell all my Batman books to pay rent!
I am sorry to hear that.
I'm sorry to hear that too! Did you sell on eBay or to a comics shop?
@@jimhoustoncomicbookblog7212 sold them in 2012 to some asshole who had me drive 2 hours and low balled me knew I was desperate for money cause I had to pay rent or sell my books
Awesome! Congrats.
Thanks!
Those are some great looking books. Congratulations my frined.
Thank you! My Batman 101-200 CGC REGISTRY SET is now complete. Check out the next Batman blog after it’s posted.
Thank you for the shoutout, happy for the bump & glad we could assist!
Nice. Would like to hear more about your original collection. : )
I will take your advice and talk about my original collection a bit more on future videos.
Always great seeing new videos from you.
Glad you like them!
Stunning books, Jim!
Thank you. I may get more of the Neal Adams covers graded.
Wow, the 7 looks alot better.
I agree!
Very nice upgrade. Color looks brighter and very little edge wear. Always look forward to you videos
I agree! thank You for watching!
*Serving in the navy
Yes. I kept the letter she sent with the comic!
@@jimhoustoncomicbookblog7212 very cool !
James just seen your latest and it’s great. Make sure you pick up the garbage. Whitey
HaHa! The worst clean up is when the white styrofoam popcorn is used to protect the books.
More great upgrades to the collection Jim. Best
Thanks Dan
