- Sage and his crew were attacked by a pirare crew of water-type Pokemon, and in the midst of battle it was revealed that his supposed first mate, Riptide, is actually a traitor part of the enemy crew.
- Sage ended up surving, but ever since that day he has banned all water-types from his crew and has an immense distrust of them.
