Thank you. Another great video. As always appreciated.
Hate the bbc but ti's was good. Stuff the bbc.
AND HE WAS REPLACED BY MALAM TITSMUDGE
MATT BAKER PRETENDING TO BE A FARMER WHILST GRINNING LIKE A CHESHIRE CAT AND GONG ON JOLLIES WITH MUMMY AND DADDY OR GREG WALLACE GETTING A STRIPE ON HIS NOSE ARE NOT FOR ME
GEOFFREY SMITH AN ANTIDOTE TO THE MODERN DAYASSHOLES LIKE MONTY, MATT BAKER, LUMLEY, GREG WALLLLLLACE.
I watched this series as a teenager and I had forgotten how good he was at getting information across. Really enjoyed watching Geoffrey Smith again, brought a lot of good memories back.
Brilliant, thank you for sharing these wonderful films of geoffrey I could watch these all day , I'm watching this instead of gardners world, he was ahead of his time and a brilliant communicator simple language everyone understands and not pretentious, the world's seems a better place watching geoffrey do his gardening. His enthusiasm was infectious, Great man

Brilliant video what a wonderful presenter geoffrey was, he's so much better than the modern day presenters, loved watching this reminds me of my dad watching it when I was a kid the world was a nicer placer in those days. Thanks for posting
A great man and a brilliant gardener. Doesn’t seem to be popular at the BBC these days. It’s sad they don’t appreciate the treasure trove of programmes they hold.
Love it!!!!
Poor chap someone should have told him about deep beds.
bet it would be hard to light though
Goodness his voice takes me back to my youth.
As a child, I had zero interest in gardening, that was mum's love, but I couldn't help enjoying Geoffrey Smith's enthusiasm and delivery every Sunday lunchtime. I used to watch whilst eating my roast dinner! He was the best.
Along with the likes of Clay Jones,Arthur Billit,Geoff Amos, Cyril Fletcher and Bob Price These true men of the soil helped shape my gardening life. I once wrote to Mr Smith praising his vegetable garden program he wrote back saying his job was as easy as catching fish out of a barrel. It’s not of course but that’s how modest a man he was. Tending gardens in heaven RIP
Arthur Billit, - incidentally!
I used to watch this with my dad when i was little. My dad always used to laugh when mr smith would plunge his spade until they soil and lift out a full shovel full of stoneless soil.

What a lovely storyteller. Love to hear people passionate about what they were born to do.
I really wish he was still around to make TH-cam videos for us!
Brilliant long sequences. Gardeners World and Beech grove have clips which are too short. Then they run out of material to FILL their episodes. So they dig a hole and drop in bought plants. Yawn, yawn.
I used to watch this with my dad who also used to do his gardening dressed like Mr Smith. My dad couldn't stand the modern celeb gardener and if he was alive now he would smash the television if monte don came on. This episode provides more info than a whole series of gardeners world.
Hello. Would you have Mr Smith's Fruit Garden ?
"a pound and a half onion is just about a meal for one man". Brilliant.
Makes me smile- “People will judge the work you do…. you’ll be judged on how straight your rows are…” Nowadays judging is not trendy, more people become unconcerned 😢😊
I often wonder what he would think about the non dig, raised bed method. Hopefully he would be pleased about the less intensive work, along with the same excellent taste of local own grown veg.
My all time favourite gardener. Really miss him. Thank you for showing his videos.
I love the old time feel of this and the little wooden box it’s very cute!
I miss read the title and thought it said Mr Vegetable Garden LOL
Makes todays TV garden presenters look like armatures.
Thank goodness for audio tape and video tape Mr Smith will live on people like him do not exist in 2022
Extremely knowledgeable chap. I lost my father in 1991 but I have kept his Tomatos plant s growing year after year by keep the seeds unfortunately the tomatos are now very deformed
Perfectionist
I loved seeing, hearing and reading Geoff back in the good old days when life was sweet. I bought his vegetable growing book over 50 years ago which has inspired me since. Would not be a BBC presenter these days, using that term "ni**ardly", now politically incorrect, but innocently used without any malice intended.

Geoffrey Smith has raised the bar for what to wear when gardening. Just look at the shine on those beautiful leather shoes. I usually look like a scarecrow in my garden and allotment. Must try harder!!
The best gardener of all time. You learn so much from Geoffrey Smith. I did many years ago.
John and his number 2 💩
Think I’ve learned more in that video than any other!!
the best Gardener in my oppion 1 of the greats in all my years missed by many bet heaven has a lovely garden
Proper old school wearing a shirt and tie to work.
My Mother and Father greatest influence on me followed by this gentleman. Great memories.
Mr Smith is having a cup of tea in the shed with Percy. Peter and Geoff.
What a Grand character was Geoffrey Smith, we all miss his advice so much. There is a memorial to him at Harlow Carr RHS near Harrogate.
Great style ....great knowledge....great communicator!
