I feel like people downplay smoker and jockey a lot because, for the smoker he has low health and low damage, and can be easily killed. The jockey, he’s, well… he’s buggy sometimes, and makes no sense. The smoker can actually be pretty op if you know how to use it correctly. Like, say you’re playing a smoker, and you pull someone down to hang on something before they fall. Or you can pull a survivor down who is on the higher ground that disallows commons from hitting the survivor. Or that final chapter of dead center, there’s stairs where you can bunny hop off and get to the other side, if timed correctly, you can play the smoker right and pull the survivor right down to their death. It all depends on how the player uses smoker, and it depends if the survivor has good timing. Sounds simple, but takes time to practice. I don’t usually see l4d2 players on the higher ground that often or b hopping from stairs to stairs, but in case that happens, take advantage of it. Or just use the smoker when survivors are distracted by a boomer or something.

just an FYI, lerp can go lower than 10 on valve servers, just gotta set ur updaterate mad high lol. for example cl_updaterate 1337;cl_interp 0;cl_interp_ratio 0 will get you a 0.7 lerptime on the netgraph

I set up my own 100 tick server and the game feels so much better to play. You can run your own local hosted 100 tickrate server with Sourcemod. There is a plugin for it at AlliedModders forum. I can help discuss how to install the plugin if you want to look into Sourcemod. At 100 tickrate, Hitting headshots is easy, guns like the Silenced SMG with laser sights become headshot machines. I’ve tried to play with 120 tick rate and but the graph numbers look like: 120/s 98/s 98/s 100/s But it feels a bit better to play.
