What The CWS Means For Tony Vitello... And About Those Texas Rumors - Full Show (6/23/24)
TX-OU
Um...Memphis made the Final 4 for the first time in the 70s...has UT made it once yet? What's the excuse?
More people watch big ten than the sec by a good clip. They have Michigan and Ohio State, and penn st to lesser extent. If they get more of there fans to watch by having better teams to play it's a win.
SEC fans often fail to realize the sheer size of the Big Ten's schools. They have alums all over the country. So while Alabama or Tennessee or LSU fans might scoff at anyone caring about an Illinois or Minnesota game, but Big Ten schools have fans everywhere. I spoke to bookmakers in Las Vegas many years ago and they referenced the fact that they take into consideration the fact that with more grads, Big Ten schools will have more representation at Vegas sportsbooks... and they'd set their lines accordingly.
No. Basketball doesn't count
Phoenix!!!😂
They forgot, Floridia vs. Texas A&M, and Florida vs. Oklahoma.
tf you mean? Texas been chasing 8 wins for the better part of a decade
Texas OU is a great game but it’s a hollow shell of a rivalry. Both sides held hands sneaking off to the SEC. Neither side actually hates the other like Bama Auburn
A&M and Texas. Both teams are so spiteful with each other they refused to play each other for 12 years
The Iron Bowl hands down bar none. This is the SEC and that is the #1 Rivalry in this conference.
It’s a subjective scale. I would argue that the Big 12 may have won. Not based on quality, but based on long term viability. Obviously the Big Ten and SEC won in the sense of power and brand. But the Big 12 probably saved themselves from being left behind in football. And that is a win!
If you’ve ever been… you know. Texas-Oklahoma. No discussion. Crowd split 50/50. Momentum swings like nothing known to man. You need to experience it.
Bama/Auburn fans would say the same. From a national standpoint, more TV eyes go to the Iron Bowl. But it’s a good debate. Thanks for watching.
@@JohnPennington-yu2xn something you don’t get in a home & home series (like the iron bowl) is the atmosphere. I’ve been to several red river games. And I get chills every time I think about it, 50/50 crowd split. Texas fans don’t talk to sooner fans, and vise versa. You can’t replicate the passion inside that stadium. You have your opinion and that’s fine. Both are awesome rivalries. But to see one side of the stadium in euphoria and the other in silence, it will stick with you. Plus the state fair is right outside the stadium. The smell of deep fried funnel cakes. I just encourage you to go experience it one year. You won’t forget
If you are a fan of college football, or even more important, a current college student, you want more, better games and fewer “cupcakes”. The SEC will be even better if they go to 9 conference games. Not so much if they don’t.
Amen!
A road trip?? A Road Trip??🤦♂️😂🤣 Not getting to watch good games between them but "Road Trip" was the top of the top, #1 priority.😂 Who is that guy? Please tell me hes a media guy?🤣 Edut:They said his name is Jimmy. Yall should fire that guy, hes a fool 🤣
Vols' dominators, unfortunately. Long cycles of domination, no less. Hope Josh changes all that.
Texas and LSU will be a huge rivalry. Two asshole fan bases clashing!
There needs to be a west conference. All the West Coast teams joining East Coast conferences are stupid.
The SEC should drop the Championship Game, nothing good can come of it, it will only hurt the chances of getting more teams in the 12 team playoff.
It’s all about the $$$$$$!
From here on out Texas is going to be known as TU - just the way it's going to be.
West coast teams will struggle in The BIG (possible exception Oregon). Texas has been the downfall of every conference they have ever been a part of. The ACC will (probably this month) change drastically.
Always gonna be iron bowl, Auburn vs Alabama, TX and ou are starting over, they need to prove themselves before we adopt their rivalry.
bama, always was, always will. We dont play Florida on the 3rd saturday of October.......
I’m a Bama fan but The Real UT argument is clearly a W for Tennessee.
ACC is pretty much All Coast Conference now
BAMA AUBURN....HANDS DOWN
B1G & SEC is neck to neck as far as football expansion but all overall B1G cause of the major TV markets (L.A) and Oregon & Washington is no slouches in football with USC traditiion which arguably may be a tad better than the tradition of Texas & Oklahoma
El grande dos Ocho. 🎉
Like espn, your bias shows... the biggest rivalry would be the oldest... but discriminating Arkansas is the objective, right?.. kinda like POS racists... you do understand POS, don't you?..
Gotta be bama, Florida is more concerned with beating Florida state and Georgia
I love it when these people assume that Oklahoma will just be bottom of the barrel, didn’t we beat bama, didn’t we go to double OT before Georgia won , didn’t we beat auburn. I believe Texas and Oklahoma can compete!
Good point but Georgia is better now than they were and Auburn will be better with Freeze than they were with malzahn
Agreed. And Oklahoma has owned Texas in the Big 12. Why would that change in the SEC?
No one outside of Tennessee thinks so, and I am not a fan of either school.
@45:28 this guy is clueless OU-OSU is 91-20-7, OU has dominated, there's no rivalry here. Sooners HATE Texas, horns down logos everywhere. Longhorns have an inflated ego while Oklahoma won the big 12 11x to Texas 4x. Not to mention Okies are annoyed by Texans in general. Sure for OSU, it makes their year to win, but for OU they're the little brother, nothing to win if you beat them but looks bad to lose. Not to mention we all have cowboys in the fam so we root for them when no one is looking.
Tx-OU, OU has owned them since 2000. Have won twice as many as Texas has.
Someone inform big boy that the only reason Muschamp said that comment to Maria Taylor after the game in the interview was because TN’s entire fanbase started chanting “F*** you Florida” in unison once Keanu Neal got the final INT to seal the game. That L for TN made it 10 losses in a row to FL at that point. I know because I was at that game. Most classless thing I’ve seen. So to characterize it as Florida coaches talking that talk is a horrible take. It lacks context and intelligence. Now Spurrier chirping….sure! That’s what made him who he was. Muschamp? No. TN has 8 wins against Florida since 1976. This rivalry has been dead for decades. I like take about Kentucky. That could be a newly recognized one due to the state bordering factor and the back and forth they’ve had recently in football. Especially when you factor in basketball as well.
That was immediately brought up on this show. Immediately.
its OU/Texas... if you don't think so, you've never been to the state fair in October. there's nothing else like it in the world.
Alabama
The University of Texas is and will always be the real UT. Its no different then our little brother A&M trying to always try so hard to put their big boy pants on. No but for real don't care if the university of Tennessee was established first. Just brand recognition world wide it will always be Texas as the real UT. I bet SEC people cry that USC is South Carolina as well. Sorry that is Southern Cal and the 80 years between founding doesn't change that ether.
No it's USCjr for south Carolina and your not the U of north Mexico due to the REAL UT VOLUNTEERS.... your historically inaccurate and ridiculous. Horns DOWN
Trash Panda stadium for baseball. Huntsville Alabama
Non-blue blood on non-blue blood crime. 😂😂😂😂😂
Tennessee was the first school established no doubt.... Just like the blackberry was first smart phone before the iPhone. Now I ask who is the real smart phone? Blackberry or iPhone? Don't worry about Texas. It's been the big fish in the pond forever and the hate has always been there. The fact it now comes from a gay orange team doesn't phase us
Look clown, yall apparently were phased by the teams of the big 12 over the last several years so I think Tennessee can phase Texas. Oklahoma has dominated the Big 12 for years and Texas was way down the list so before the Texas woke fanbase thinks they are gonna come in and dominate the SEC, u might want to pump the brakes. Texas has the easiest schedule in the entire SEC this upcoming year and I bet they stumble a few times. Can't wait till Texas comes to Knoxville in the future.
I actually have never watched a full Texas game. I really think of OU before Texas.
As a Big 12 fan, we are thrilled to see Texas and Oklahoma go. I am not so sure the SEC got the better deal here because if ya'all know anything about Texas, then you know that Texas thinks they will own the SEC. The other schools in the SEC are irrelevant to Texas and if anyone has anything else to think or say, no one is listening!
Tennessee is the Senior UT by almost 90 years
Interesting take on rivalries. Iron Bowl 1893 Auburn defeats Alabama 32 to 22. First half of the Missouri Kansas border war rivalry in 1861, Jim Lane and the Kansas Jayhawks execute 10 and burn down the town of Osceola, MO. Missouri mounts a come back in the second half in 1863 under Quantrill &George Todd, Bloody Bill and the James boys killed 150 and burn down Lawrence, Kansas. The officials (referees) were the federal government and penalized Missouri for unnecessary roughness (General order 11) Known today as the Burnt District.
It's not about how close other teams are its about tickets. In Atlanta Georgia fans get all the local tickets and that is an unfair advantage.
Need to move it to Atlanta, New Orleans and Dallas on a rotating basis.
Poor Utah Tech sitting alone in the corner...
Pennington talks alot of crap towards tennessee, throws jabs alot. Tennessee is your bread and butter. You might appreciate the university a little more.
Who's the real Crimson? Bama or Okie?
RRR for sure. Nothing compares.
Dallas
