I would love to know why the original LAL is a better fit for patients with previous PRK. Thanks
Please answer my question is this OK for people who have immaculate degeneration
Is this available for people who have a macular degeneration?
Who is performing the lens adjustments with the laser after the surgery, the surgeon or the optometrist?
The optometrist performs the light treatments from our Light Delivery Device (LDD). More details can be seen here: www.summiteyewi.com/cataract-surgery/light-adjustable-lens/#recovery
So you are not putting a LAL plus in eyes with previous Lasik then PRK?
How many tweaks does a normal patient have to have, and how long between tweaks? Thank you!
I had the LAL put in my left eye. The results have been so so vision wise, but I now see concentric rings in that eye at night. The surgeon in Scottsdale still hasn’t figured out the problem and it’s been over a year.
You’ll need a lot of patience if you select LAL. Once implanted you must wear UV protection glasses (indoor and outdoor) almost 24/7 for 4-6 weeks. That how long it takes for your eye to heal and then you go through multiple light adjustments before your optometrist locks the LAL in permanently to your vision preferences . The end result is fantastic.
Any surgeons using this lens in the keratoconus patient near Hilton Head Island, SC?
Cool
Did you have strabismus before surgery?
What was your your RX pre surgery?
I have KC & PSC at the same time. What about the light entering to the eye after this lens?
I have KC and low level of PSC and my right eye have high level of PSC. I hardly read screens now and I need to earn my life with my eyes in my 36 years of age. I am very depressed and don't know what to do...
I guess I am the only one who is not happy with my visual acuity after LAL implant. I was encouraged to get LAL due to my previous Lasik. Post final LAL lock in, I have 20/35 in one one eye and 20/40 in the other. Doc said that's the best he could achieve for me. However, I was seeing better after the adjustment and before the final lock in. The lock in procedure definitely had a negative impact on my vision. I haven't been able to find any reviews out there similar to my experience. But for the huge extra cost incurred for these lenses, I was hoping for better results.
Thank you for sharing
Is it possible to implant this lens even if you do not have cataracts, and with the aim of correcting HOA?
If you don't have problems in your eyes do not touch it...
so it can be used for prior rk patients good to know thanks
Cost?
mine were $3800 an eye in Louisiana I know some places its considerably higher
@@marieamayo Thanks.
4650 per eye in CO in Feb 2024 plus the cost of surgery.
LAL lens only $3600 midwest May 2024
@@pirateslife4me Thanks you for your reply. Per eye, or for two?
IOL or not? Light adjustable? How?

what are the adverse side effects from lal?>
I thought single surgery is better due to the risk of infection.
Sound is horrible in the beginning. They fix it so patience.
i had both eyes done with RXSight lenses for mono vision done in sarasota the end of may 2023. i had my first adjustment on thursday 6/15. it took over 52 hours for my pupils to contract. i am having left eye for close and right eye for distance. yesterday i could finally read print and it is really good. i can read my phone and my computer monitor without 1.75 reading glasses at all. the distance has gotten much worse though. i can't make out the golf scores on a 75 inch television from twenty feet i can't read street signs from even 100' away. this will bother some people and should be told by the professionals. i hope they can improve on this as my distance vision before was better than almost anyone i would be around. keeping fingers crossed. they should tell their patients that they probably won't be able to work with their eyes for 48 hours after the adjustments.
Are your lenses lenses monovision? If not, what distance are you set to?
The stock has been doing very well. The symbol is RXST.
My buddy did it and it was knocking on the door of $10K for both eyes!
Hope his turned out great. Just had my 2nd eye done today..so far loving it. And yep $84.00. insurance is a scam
How much do they cost???
My buddy did it and it was knocking on the door of $10K for both eyes!
We were just quoted $8k for both eyes. At bemidji mn
I’m doing this in a week. To the person who asked. The out of pocket cost for me was $8,000.00
you got a bargain George
I got these lenses and had one eye set to near and one to far. It's been great! With the astigmatism fixed it is just amazing how crisp everything is - especially stars at night. Threw out all my old glasses. For day to day I no longer have to wear glasses. Great when going swimming. It took a bit of time to adjust to the varying focus depths, but that is the brain learning to reconstruct the sight picture. Also, when I went to get a new drivers license, had to get glasses to pass the two eye far distance vision test. Just ordered a cheap pair online and keep them in the glove compartment in case I get pulled over. No ragrets.
Is it LAL mainly is monofocus, instead of some depth of field? Also, does indorr light affect its form without a UV glass wearing?
Niiiiiiiiiice. Your best option is to make an account with *promo sm*.
Why not multi focal?
The Light Adjustable Lens procedure sounds great, except it seems that it entails MonoVision. Is this correct? I'd rather compromise/settle for [hopefully] negligible artifacts (ie., halos or starbursting) with another MultiFocal Premium Lens vs. STILL being Presyopic OR losing my depth perception from MonoVision. Can someone please confirm?
NO. You have it absolutely wrong. Try watching it again and/or ask your opthalmologist. Based on the first first few comments, none come members of Mensa.

I’ve had my second light adjustment and due for the third and last one in a few days every thing is good.
I’m to start my adjustment in two weeks how many adjustment does a person have to have. I’m seeing good they way they are and still using the uv glasses I’m getting tired of.
Are these type of lenses available in Canada (Toronto area)?
I’m having the lal lens done on the 5th of July scared to death how well I see with no adjustment right after the lens is put in.
After 3 ajustments and final lock in I have 20/16 vision I have Superman eyes 👀 I can see through a brick wall.
I’m 20/16.
@@calvinellis1891exciting!! Is one eye distant and the other near?
Don't be afraid. I had my right eye done may 10th. On may 11th it was 2020. That will change some. Today may 17th I had left eye done. I wish I'd done them sooner. Only bad thing is the cost 42050 per eye
Patient loss the stereo vision preception of depth is loss This is bad for driving.
Just had 1st eye done…next eye done next week…cannot wait!
I have just had one eye done…the next in 10 days…eager to see how well this works.
Yeah I don’t think so. I had cataract surgery in the right eye and ended up with blurry vision that just has not cleared 50 days out. Imagine if that happens in both eyes you are screwed. In the end the doctor told me to just go get glasses and if the blurred vision bothers me then go back to him and he’ll do a laser procedure . I think I got the most incompetent Dr on earth!
What IOL is she talking about? Why not CLEARLY STATE the IOL she was given. Why hide the information? Got me puzzled about the secrecy????
This is the "Light Adjustable Lens" made by RxSight. Sorry if this was not clear either by the title or content.
It’s literally IN THE TITLE!

Not a good idea for routine cases because there remains risk of endophalmitis alway although minimal but it is there. I perform bilateral surgery in paeditric cases and on those elders who undergo surgery under General Anesthesia.
