Depends on the country - here in the UK, the deceased arrive at the crematorium in a coffin and we charge it into the cremator. We aren't allowed to (and don't want to) handle the contents of the coffin until the cremation process is complete.
@@04smallmj It's the same here (Ontario) the funeral homes look after the body, we don't see the contents.

The body is just a shell. Once my spirit had hone up ve with the Lord I don’t care what happens to this dead clump of decaying flesh and bones. I personally am saddened when people feel pressured to spend thousands of dollars on a fancy box that is just going to be buried and deteriorate. What a waste.
You can cremate the deceased in the casket if you really want...
If it were a burial, yes, a decent coffin is indispensable. But it's cremation. Using a coffin at all is not even required by law for cremation. You can save on an expensive coffin if you want, or you can simply cremate your loved one in the same coffin used for the funeral viewing if there was one before the cremation.
It’s less cost if financial issues are the problem or some just prefer to be spread in a beautiful place of their choice they made before death .
I have selected to be direct flame cremated, pre-paid, when my savior calls me. For me, I am divorced, live on my own and have few relatives all living halfway around the world so I am just attempting to be practical. My sister was direct flame cremated ten years as per her wishes.

No most are just opened (both lids) and the body is layed in these are mostly for oversized people
He should have jumped in the box and been wheeled in the crematorium. That was awful. What a fucked up company. We put our phone number on the lid of your deceased. Just in case he/she wants to call us before the their tongue melts away.

Why would you put your phone number on a casket lid that is being disrespectful to the dead and their family's. If a funereal home can't remember your phone number than they can look it up on the internet.
They should either put the number inside of the lid or include a Walmart burn phone in case the occupant gets a wake up call. Really advertising to the deceased. … Marketing Over Kill….

The name of the decedent and the funeral home's phone number allows for identification and contact info if the cremation itself is subcontracted out to a crematorium.
