It flies! This was second flight with 5800 mah SMC battery. Still feeling it out, and flying it cautiously. Now to build a proper canopy, and give it a fiberglass cloth layer, sand and paint it.

nope! Haven't had any compatibility problems running the HV packs.

Nice Tom, I have always wanted a larger Lippisch! I bought the MRC 64mm 3S version and right away upgraded the motor, ESC and went to 4S. She absolutely screams Tom, well over 100 mph with GPS onboard! Looks like you were maidening her at about half throttle, wait until you open her up! Yours fly's beautifully Tom, very smooth and predictable! Nice job; perfect plane to enlarge! Jim
Thanks jim! I used my freewing Lippisch to help me design this one -:) yes, the little one screams, and is so agile as well, love flying the 64mm. I think the 80mm COULD be fast, but I believe I screwed up the thrust line, so over 2/3 throttle it really wants to dive down. Maybe a throttle to elevon mix, worth a shot, or design a thrust diverter for the nozzle?
Hey Tom, yeah it looks as though your wing incidence may need to add about 5 deg to get the incidence you need at full throttle. Now I think (unless the wings detach) you're not going to be able to correct the thrust-line. A new model might be needed; not sure how you'd correct thrust-line of the tube, just wouldn't be affective enough? Hey, look at it this way; with a new model you can correct design changes you always wanted to anyways! 🙂
@@jimhenriksen498 I'll take it if you want to build it for me "A new model might be needed" LOL ! seriously, it's a little disappointing I can't rock it at full throttle, but oh well. I love that I can cruise around for like 7 min+ at lower throttle/ speed and it's still quite fun :) Thanks for the comment, and yeah maybe I need to build one with a 80" wing/ 120mm fan ?? And for sure with detachable wings- it may all be just the ticket to break my brain🤣 🤪

It’s pretty light for the wing area. But yeah, I was kinda shocked how quickly it got up. Eflite fan really pushes it along !

Thank you! It does have just a slight tendency to pitch a bit forward at high throttle, maybe I need to see if a throttle/ ele mix would help with that? otherwise, yes it's really stable! Appreciate the view and the kind words 🙂👍

fixed the cracks after that last landing, and did a bunch of seam filler just now -:) it's going to be fun adding all the details and painting . Found a nice pair of cannons in the parts bin.😄

Actually, I’ve got a 3 meter sailplane that weights 11 pounds. But, this is maybe the heaviest scratch build design I’ve made

Nice flying Tom! I have the Artic Camo version and I use the 3700/80C, flies really fast! I'm thinking that this Jet may be a lot happier with a lighter battery and maybe some AS3X to smooth it out a bit. Other than that, it's a super great value for the $200 they asked for it, cannot believe it comes with retracts Tom! I had to buy some back up sets to try in my other 64mm's some day when I get time! Nice flight Tom smooth as glass man!

Hi, sorry- just saw this :) I put the battery as far back as it would go, still balances a touch nose heavy it seems, according to manual but it does inverted with just a touch of down elevator, so I'd say it's pretty good there..enjoy! Reply
Darn I hate flying a used battery. I always check the battery before putting it in the plane. Keep the used batteries in a used battery bag. Zoom zoom zoom Jeff in LA USA

Can you recommend an affordable battery charger for 6s and 3s? I just bought this plane recently. Have a CHNL 5000mah black series battery for it but also have a P47 Warbird that takes a 3S as well as a PZ Radian 2 meter that takes a small pack. I’m looking for a charger that will charge all three of the aforementioned batteries that’s not super expensive. Been out of the game for the past 7 years but getting back to it. A lot has changed. 😂 Thank you for your time.
