1981 First London Marathon
มุมมอง 276ปีที่แล้ว
This is some footage of the first London Marathon on Sunday 29th March 1981. I'm afraid the quality is poor, it was shot with a Sony portable Betamax recorder and a Sony tube camera. The recorder weighed 9kgs and the camera 3kgs, so not my best camera work.

When will you upload a Bisto gravy advert I wonder.
Upload a Bisto gravy advert as soon as possible did you find any yet I wonder.
Shown on RTE advert breaks in Ireland & worldwide in 1984.
Try & find a Bisto gravy advert to upload between now & Easter.
Did you find a Bisto gravy advert to upload yet.
No not yet
Such an odd sales pitch. Just have a drink!?
Not really - the implication is that they're so flavoursome that your mouth anticipates the taste.
@kesgreen4639 yea they create saliva. Charming.
Reason # 3,454,567,654 why we miss the 90's: The effort was real.
I also remember when Pizza Hut was an actual sit-down restaurant, without the fast food atmosphere. Entertainment books anyone? Lol
They're not like that anymore.
I Miss this Show
_The most iconic Christmas commercial of all time!_ 😎👌🏻🔴
25:34 "Some on the right say Mr Major might have become too pro-European for them" That turned out to be prescient, didn't it?
Gordon Kaye was slightly disfigured as a result hence the later series of Allo Allo.
Comparing this with AI version, the two ads how fantastically representing the age they were being made in. This makes me remind the movies from the '90s, compared to today's average movie "pearls".
😊 IT'S NOT CHRISTMAS UNTIL THIS OLD CLASSIC ARRIVES ON OUR SCREEN!!!! 😃 🤶 MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY 🎅
Sometimes its best to stick with the original.
Where are tradicional aspects here like family, traditions
They should remaster this and re-air this next year not only to redeem themselves from that GODAWFUL AI ABOMINATION we got this year but this masterpiece turns 30 next year.
What the hell they did that???? Everyone getting too lazy with that crap now.
I have loved this specific advert for maaaaany years. It does not feel like Christmas till i see this one. I appreciate the new ads but cant beat the best
love love this one...have all ways loved cokes christmas commercials but not the new 2024 one. to much going on ,no warmth (the coca cola bears had warmth ) or feelings. what up coke? not the real thing this year. sad.
PEPSI SUCKS COCA COLA IS BEST
the opposite
I was in 5th grade when this came out. Man, what a nostalgia trip ❤
Now I see why people are upset about the AI version. It wasn't even this exciting
Way better than that stupid AI version.
Thanks for uploading
This ad was pure magic. The 2024 Christmas Coke made by AI commercial is not Real Magic, it is an effortless mess. The level of stinginess is absolute. In fact, I think the Holiday Parade (I plan to go see it here in ATL) is more realistic than that ad released this year.
Ooo! What a pretty commercial! I hope nobody ruins it by recreating it with soulless AI!
The guys who made this must be so disappointed rn
I can’t stand Coke but they have always had great Christmas commercials, until the AI version. Future generations, this is how our commercials used to be and how life was. Remember this so your AI overlords can’t control you
Every year, I feel like it's Christmas time because I see the Coka Cola add (I was born 86, but remember a bunch of Christmases with this add). This year, I saw the AI add.... and didn't, so I'm here. 😘
It’s better than the AI bullshit😂
Who remembers santa winking at the end? 🤔
A Mars a day helps u wear a vest and be gay
Original is always best.
Sign of times: people whining about lack of soul (AI or not) for a sugar-water advertisement.
This ad is way better than the souless 2024 AI ad! 🎨 #noai 🎨
I would rather see this than the new garbage AI advert.
Now "THIS" Is real magic!~ <3 <3 <3
You can shove the ai one where the sun doesn't shine
Iv noticed that this version is nicer to listen to aswell in comparison to the ai version
So much better.
Back in the days as a kid when it seemed kind of risky, and risqué, to watch Channel Four! They used to play the whole tune during 'ad' breaks at first.
I am here after seeing the bastardization of this commercial by it's AI counterpart.
I remember watching & loving this commercial every time it passed on TV (and the other versions after that, including the polar bear ones). It's hard to believe I was just as little as the kid at 0:32 when this commercial came out in 1995. I was like 7-8 🥹 When did time go so fast? I miss being a kid, having 0 worries, having most of my family members alive, my parents being young (they are in their 70s now), playing with my neighbors, waiting for Santa to bring me the presents. The good ol' days of the golden 90s ✨️🎄🎁🎅🏻
Now THIS evokes real emotion! Not that AI Trash. Unless cringe can be called an emotion lol
They had to ruin it by doing this ai for 2024 makes no sense why they had to change it 😢
Came here after watching the horrible AI remake, just to confirm they were doing more inspired and technically superior pieces 30 years ago.
This advert was the sign that Christmas was coming, coke cola were such a huge part of it - it’s like they don’t believe in the magic anymore (AI 2024 ad)! The trucks hardly tour anymore and the ads are now lazy…sad times! I was 6 when this came out and I’ve never forgotten how special it was for me and my Christmas 🎅
This is really pure magic is not ia
