FEX - Subways of Your Mind (Speed-Up Version - Correct Length: 3:54!!!)
The most mysterious song on the internet (Like the Wind) was found. Original name FEX - Subways of your mind.
I created this speedup version to match the same time as the tape posted on the /r/TheMysteriousSong subreddit.

Christmas song for kids [Verse] Snowflakes falling, silent night, Homes alight with festive light. Laughter echoes, far and near, Welcoming the Christmas cheer. [Chorus] Merry, merry, Christmas time, Ringing bells and nursery rhymes. Together, holding hands so dear, Spreading love and Christmas cheer. FEX - Subways of your mind
It sounds very good.
That Fex concert of 85 at Köln was great, I remember being there when I was young, great era of music, for sure.
this song should have been a hit back then. At least it gets recognition now. Check it in -- check it out!
Que bom que descobriram o autor da musica?
This song is everything
Goddamn, that last part was peak
*This song finally "checked in and checked out"*
oh wow, you have done an amazing job! i kinda hated how slow the other vids are but this now cements this as my fave
Is postpunk still punk rock? Because my favorite genre is punk (the Green Day type of punk)
By definition, Post Punk cannot include Punk because it’s anything that follows right after
@ oh
Punk was a 70’s Genre. Green Day was a 90’s band
@@JeffTaggart-p6o okay pop punk, Emo, whatever, but I don’t think what time a genre was popular can determine if it is that genre
@@PatrickReuploaded You’re right Greenday is punk. Post punk means whatever followed punk, but that doesn’t mean punk just stopped existing after it. Confusing ik
The founding fathers of lostwaves
maybe-maybe 🥳
Yes correct
I mean there was a lost wave that took 20 years to solve since it was posted, longer than this. It was “try to smile again” Though this one is the best
I was here !
Why was this song never distributed? this is is true synthwave / rock.
100,000s of songs are produced a year, even in the 1980s. Most of them fall through the cracks.
@@whatever3132 thats true
Sounds more like a post-punk or newwave for me.
remember, those were times were distribution meant casette tapes, from what i've seen they had one with 3 songs(including subways of your mind)
it was. it was sold at their concerts.
If we managed to find this song for almost 40 years. Then there's still chance to find people who are still missing to this day!
We could if internet spent more time looking for people instead of random songs no one had ever heard of. Also people tend to die in 40 years if they go missing.
@@thechugg4372 🤡
Ehhhhh, people tend to want to be found if they were kidnapped, or they avoid being found if they ran away. If they haven't been found in such a long time it's unlikely.
The demo is still my favorite, but this is killer. Honestly objectively the better of the two, the additional instrumentals of this finalized studio version gives it so much character and sounds more complex and artistic than just a straightforward goth rock sound (which I am a total sucker for BTW)
The first track I thought of when I first heard this was “Love Will Tear Us Apart” by Joy Division. It has that dark and unsettling edge to it.
Actualy it's the other way around. This is a demo version, and the one that was aired on the radio was the definitive version, according to FEX's Michael Härtlich. He said that in a German podcast.
@@TheZmusicGroup Wait, seriously?? Wild. I figured since it was such low quality it was a less polished version, but if the station itself had a weak-ish signal you could get that same kind of audio quality. This is strange, first time I've heard of a studio version getting stripped down from the demo instead of vice versa
@MasterOfKnowledge. Yeah. It s talked about here th-cam.com/video/g3MHEcaluIg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WL8_kDc_3xV9laTn , about 10:55. The automatic subtitles do the job
@@MasterOfKnowledge. That all still makes no sense to me. Especially since the lyrics on the known later recordings revert back to the "demo," rather than the later studio version. Makes way more sense that what played on NDR was made first. Methinks maybe they are misremembering things from 40 years ago.

yes this is the correct speed

Proof that when we work together, humans can still do the impossible
the improbable.
@@Bethos1247-Arne this would have been an impossible venture for a single person to try and accomplish
@@TransistorBased that is not your original statement. You said, "Proof that when we work together, humans can still do the impossible" That is a statement very different to your other comment. In this case that new comment is not even correct. If just a single person would have looked for this song, finding the name and even the band would be a lot more improbable but not impossible. It could have been for example that this one persons wents into a bar and, slightly drunk, tells a guy on the counter about this search and as luck has it, it is one who knows it or even one of the FEX band members himself. Chances are nigh impossible but not actually impossible.
@@Bethos1247-Arne It's directly in line with my original statement. What would be impossible for one person is possible when people work together. You spent so much time writing a short story of a comment that you completely missed the point of my comment
@@TransistorBased your original comment, as it is written, is still wrong. And even your remedy does not work in this case, as for a single person getting to the source of the mysterious song would not be impossible. You now strawmanned your own argument into something else, as if you made a general statement that some things whiich would be impossible for a single person becomes possible if multiple persons work together. But your original comment was for the video, the search for the mysterious song, not a general statement.
Also a half-step up in tuning.
I DEMAND a video from Whang now!
Why? You can read the reddit post yourself, can't you? Maybe your reading skills are even better than his, considering he's at a 2nd grader reading level.
@@rightbehindyou9398the brick this has to do with his asking for a whang video?
@perdrohenrique5058 he made a video on this song a while before it was found
@@perdrohenrique5058 whang usually makes videos about interesting internet stories.
Definitely better at this speed.
They look so anxious, yet hopeful, for their band in this photo. Unknown at the time, they created a Masterpiece. All of those hopes and dreams... would come true 40 years later. NEVER give up hope!
I'm not sure that this can be called a victory since they didn't earn a lot of money and why they spent their whole lives doing something they probably didn't like

Like the wind, you came here running Take the consequence of living (small chance this could also be lieben, which means to make love?) There's no space (This literally echoes, so no arguing on this) There's no tomorrow Only means of communication Shake it in, shake it out, but the sun will never shine Horror only has a way in the subways of your mind Like the wind, flowing goes onward (like the wind) Let a smile be your companion There's no place (This also echoes, so no arguing on this) For any sorrow Or the young and restless dreaming Shake it in, shake it out, but the sun will never shine Terror/Horror only has a way in the subways of your mind (Chorus) Shake it in, shake it out, but the sun will never shine Horror (Power?) only knows any way in the subways of your mind. Shake it in, shake it out, it's the summer blues Tear it in, tear it out, it's a good excuse Shake it in, shake it out, it's the summer blues Tear it in, tear it out, it's a good excuse Shake it in, shake it out, it's the summer blues Tear it in, tear it out, it's a good excuse Shake it in, shake it out, it's the summer blues Tear it in, tear it out, it's a good excuse From these lyrics, we can ascribe this is probably a song about either life itself being unfortunate, or being trapped in a mysterious world you don't want to be. This explains the constant references to the consequence of simply living, how it has no time for human thought, the sense of being trapped together appears to be established, wanting to "shake out" of the world, "tear it out", flowing goes onward like if you are trapped, and the place they are trapped in manifesting into unknown horrors in the trapped person's place. Of course this could also just be a paranoid song about being trapped in Summer.

This is great. People need to soon realise this is the correct speed.
Someone's gotta fix the other 2 songs too
Gotta admit that the radio version is better
Wrong
Right
I like the drum kicks at the start and some of the additional instrumentation but the original we found sounds more like a dark wave sound.
@TheManInBlueFlames I have a remaster with a drum at the beginning of the original snippet
This is definitely better as far as production goes.
