Why does my vacuum smell bad? - The WHY and How to fix it!
Thank you so much. I fought with my button for weeks before finding your video. This was perfect. Why the heck don't they include instructions with the button? Anyhow, thanks for the helpful vid.
Mine arrived in June and just stopped work 😩😩😩
Hello Kim! It's Mac Baker your former vacuum customer from Alabama! Just wanted to say Hello and wish you a Merry and Blessed Christmas and a Happy New Year! Great video as always! Your looking fabulous! 😁🤗🌟👍
My filter started whistling ear-piercingly after I cleaned it with compressed air. I wonder if pressure behind the filter helps push out the rubber seal lip, so improving airflow coupled with a flattened and stiffened old rubber lip stops a good seal being made? The design is minimal as with all Dyson design - high price, lowest material cost. I’ve fixed mine by using wire sleeving (hollow pvc tubing you put around electric cable cores). Pushed it under the rubber lip all the way around. It makes the seal lip protrude more and can squash down where needed as it is hollow. More force needed when installing the filter but a much better seal is made. Ask for cable sleeving from an electrical factors, or ask for 30cm from an electrician parked outside.
Your video was pretty good, but while you showed where the cleaning solution goes for the Wow Mop Too, you didn't compare it to where the solution goes for the Wow Mop. I also wanted to know about the battery for the Wow Mop and where is it.
Thanks a million. Now if I can get the right motor for it I'll fix the vacuum cleaner. Also I would be afraid to bang a screwdriver in there like what you did and I used a jewelers screwdriver. In the particular cause there was no banging necessary and as far as I could tell my rather more cautious way worked with rather minimal wear and tear -- probably.
My dc 07 had a high pitch sound. Changed filters to OEM dyson and it went away. Avoid the cheaper after market parts!
Thanks for the tips!
Not butterball
What kind do you prefer?!
is this good for tile floor?
Yes absolutely!
Why buy if it’s not meant to be used for the whole house ? 🏡
Thanks so much for showing the TRICK to removing side bumpers. After watching 6 other vids showing hammering from behind with a screwdriver (which did not work) , your reveal of the tabs in front that need to be released and then pull side bumpers forward worked !!
My question is what about the hose as I learned Hoover doesn't sell replacement hoses for my 5 yr old Hoover vacuum. I think they want me to go buy a new one and I refuse! I have had to resort to 200 MPH tape to keep the vac running. Also, had learned Hoover is now made in China so parts are even worse to come by, true or false? Thanks for doing this video. As for me, I do the air compressor cleaning here.
I have a shedding golden retriever, I have a sebo D4 premium and prefer the large capacity bag. The more dog hair it holds equates to fewer bag changes and lower long term cost
Very smart and true!
@kimberly.thomason that being said the d series is an awesome vacuum
Awesome thank you!!! :)
You're welcome!
Thank you so much for your video ! You saved me time and a repair fee. Two wires had come loose in my Oreck vacuum. Your video showed me exactly what to do.
@@raybroskey229 that’s great!!
So helpful , thanks!!
Glad it was helpful!
Great store. Nice video.
Yes, thank you
What model is it?
It’s been so long since this video was created. I’m unsure.
Thank you so much, because I was about to start crying, lol. Pliers did the trick.
Awww!
replace the belt every three months?!
@@sweetpea7455 on this vacuum yes!
Having the power unit low allows it to free stand.
It sure does!
What do I do if filter won’t come out
Try taking it to a store.
Amazing
Thank you!
What a wonderful home for her! Great job!
Thank you so much!
I live in the UK and only got the UK charger, not that I’m too fussed as no one is going to take their vaccum cleaner on vacation 😂
The UK plug must come with it because in Malaysia and the Middle East they sell Numatic vacs and they use UK sockets. That package is definitely made for non UK/EU distribution.
I know it’s so silly they provide all the chargers.
Thanks for your clear help! You mentioned in the video how some vacuums have other advantages (like not a lot of turns in the vacuum tubing, etc.). Can you recommend any reasonably priced vacuums that meet those standards?
Oreck commercial upright is fabulous… www.amazon.com/dp/B001NDNV18/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_GEPAB5PZF9S4818XWR11?linkCode=ml2&tag=vacmdboca-20 If you need one with tools on-board then I like: www.amazon.com/dp/B08YKGN9VY/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_api_gl_i_74ZG2CRFBJE4M13PCKH8?linkCode=ml2&tag=vacmdboca-20
this house is where a trailer park used to be it is right beside a trailer park and that trailer park always has a dog barking and plus the front yard is very trashy
I don’t remember seeing any trailer parks around this property.
Love these videos but this one is missing the two great golfers you filmed at Sunrise lakes!
Oh…that video is coming! Don’t you worry. Subscribe so you don’t miss it. I’ll let you know.
so funny!
Thank you!
Unfortunately placed bloom on the flowy dress made me blush, thinking of 70s swinger parties. 😂
Interesting… 🤣
This saved me!!!!! Thank soooo much!!!!!!!!!!!!
You’re welcome!
I have no suction in the hose…. Can’t find the plug. Can I open the bottom where the brush is? I’ve cleaned the filters and the hose seemed to be clear. I think the plug is in the head….it’s a rotator professional
Hope you found it!
Wow you saved the day! My vacuum had lost its suction even though it had not been used very much. I had already replaced it with a Sharky which is so much better than the Hoover IMO. So I tried to donate the Hoover to the local thrift store but they refuse to take non working appliances. I was stuck agonizing over how to get rid of it. I mean I would have to pay to take it to the dumps! It finally dawned on me that YT must have a video on how to troubleshoot vacuums, I mean there is a video on everything else in life so why not vacuums? Lo and behold, there you were! Once you got to the “satisfying” part the clog, I knew that had to be it. I had already replaced belt and filter. Now I have a perfectly functioning vacuum which will be dedicated to my sewing room. The thrift store just lost out! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge with the rest of us. So appreciated!
This is great!
Kim that all sounds and looks like a blast of fun and great times for everyone of all ages! That dress and your boots look fantastic together! If I lived in your area I know who I would use or recommend as my realtor! Take care and I'm going to check with the guy you told me that owns the store now on the Sebo! I'll let you know which Sebo unit I ultimately end up getting! I wish you were still working in the store but I certainly understand you wanting to put all your time and efforts into building your customer base for you're real estate business! Take care, Mac Baker
Sounds good! Keep in touch.
Thank you for this tip, I got mine from a family member and I didn't know what was wrong with it. It's back to doing it's work 😉🤗
Great!
@kimberly Thomason - How do you repair/replace the red lock on the outside of the dust bin? The top part of ours broke off.
You get a new bin. I don’t thing you can replace that part.
if you have nails it might be impossible.. well fuck
Thank you so much! This saved me a trip to get it fixed in the rain with a crying baby!
You're welcome!
Hi! I am desperate to find a machine that won’t leave streaks on very shiny tile, do you have any suggestions?
Any steamer…
Use water and steam only
Hmm, I don't recall this house ever being investigated, at least by TAPS. It may have been investigated by some other organization, but there are no reports. One way to know if a place is possibly haunted is to pull owner history records. (As a Real Estate agent, you know what that is. See? You could have a role to play in investigations without having to be on site if squeamish). Is this place really haunted? It is possible by speculation, which is all we have. Louise King-Cromartie contracted Yellow Fever and succumbed to it. so that is a qualifier. She may have loved the house so much that her spirit refuses to move on completely. It could also be a residual haunting, which is probably the case here, but again, there are no investigation records. It should also be noted that if there is a spirit of Louise still residing there on a different plane, it is a benevolent haunting and NOT a malevolent one. Malevolent hauntings are actually extremely rare believe it or not. That said though, poltergeist activity can be considered malevolent it depends, but poltergeist activity at that level is also extremely rare. The King Cromartie house is similar in history to the Whaley House in San Diego, which is said to be very haunted. It has been investigated nine ways to Sunday and there is still no absolute evidence of haunting, just legend. It fairly recently (about 15 to 19 years ago), became an official "pay to get in" tourist attraction. I knew some folks who did an investigation back in the day (very early 2000s), when it was still "private property" and one could go in it with permission (which took an average of one month to get) and it did not cost anything. Now, I think it is county or state owned hence the commercialization of it. Now they have a "souvenir shop" on the first floor. Personally, I have never encountered a malevolent haunting, but I have encountered poltergeist activity twice. Both times completely harmless. I have also encountered one apparition, all with eye-witnesses. As a paranormal investigator one of the most important things is not to show fear. One must train one's self not to fear with tried and true technics of ancient times on the spirit level (not the religious level). Going in relying on any religious level training or belief is asking for trouble, not from any spirits if you will, but from ones own psyche, which can be devastating later. One must be of sound (and skeptical) mind to be a paranormal investigator. My most frozen moment was the apparition and it happened NOT during an investigation and in broad daylight! I was in San Juan Capistrano, CA just visiting the town and went to lunch at a restaurant that had seating in actual old train cars. How can one not love that? I was there with my mother and sister. After eating we were headed out and my mother and sister stopped to use the restroom. I waited in an area that was also a waiting area and the main kitchen door was there as well as seating and a checkerboard set on a small table for guests. Down the center of the aisle were a series of small support pillars. I was sitting on a bench across from the checkerboard. After about a minute or so I saw one of the checkers move to the edge of the board. Not believing I really saw that, I watched only to see another checker piece slide off the board and drop onto one of the chairs. At that point I got up and stood in front of the third pillar in from the outside near the kitchen door. I told one of the waitstaff coming out of the door about the checkers and they were not surprised at all and rather nonchalant. I told a second employee and they said it happens often. The floor was level as far as I could tell. About 2 minutes later, I saw a guy dressed as a miner 49er who had seen better days come walking in. Thinking it was part of the celebration the town was having at the time I disregarded it until he walked right through the first pillar! As he got closer, I froze and he looked awful, like he had been run over and then walked through the pillar in front of me and then...right through me!! I was not scared, but I was shocked. When he walked through me I felt an extreme coldness for a couple of seconds at most. (No surprise on that). I then informed (as gingerly as possible) a couple of waitstaff that came through the kitchen door a split second after the encounter and they knew exactly what happened. They explained to me what or who it was and the story behind it and that I was far from the only one to encounter this. They also informed me that the bar area has fairly moderate poltergeist activity after 10pm (the closing time). They explained how many glasses they go through per week due to them being broken when they come in to work the next day. Turns out that there was a guy back in the old days who was doing something around the railroad tracks (which had been moved later to behind the restaurant) and he was run over by a train in accident at the very spot in which he appears. A good number of guests and all the waitstaff has seen him in broad daylight and it happens around the same time each time at the rate of about once every two weeks. Side note: My mother and sister did not see anything as they were still in the restrooms. My sister doesn't understand much of anything and my mother is afraid of "ghosts" or what have you. I told them what happened and two wait staff backed me up and my mom refused to believe it, but was all too keen to make a beeline out of the place. (She believes such spirits can attach themselves and go home with you or something. This is not possible at all). Pulling the history on it later, it turns out what the staff told me was straight accurate. The whole area around Los Rios Street (where the train tracks, restaurant, etc. are located) is said to be active and many investigations have been done including at the Mission, also said to be haunted. (I did an investigation at the Mission in a two person team and got next to nothing, but others have reported all kinds of activity). To my knowledge, the restaurant has never been officially investigated, likely because besides the bar area, the activity is during the day inside working hours and an investigation would be disruptive and not necessarily guaranteed successful. There is usually some intelligence behind hauntings.
Oh my goodness. I love all this information! I took a guided tour of the house a they didn't talk at all about the possibility of being haunted. When I asked the guide, he was very careful to answer. He didn't want to upset any possible spirits. I love that you know so much about all this! Thank you Eric!
@@kimberly.thomason That is kind of odd that the guide did not talk about the house being haunted. That is usually the draw and selling point (no pun intended). Almost had you selling haunted houses there, but I don't think we will see that house or any like it on MLS anytime soon. LOL! They talk about the haunting on the Whaley House tour, at the start. Again though, it has become a paid tourist thing complete with a gift shop. Kind of a shame as that takes away all the mystique, whether true or not. Just what I learn through experience and doing. I had great interest at the time and got involved. It is like vinyl record restoration (I do that now and will likely do so into the afterlife), one gets very interested and educates themselves. I'm a life long learner anyway, I think it comes with being Slavic or something, I don't know. One has to be very interested in such things to go there (and maybe being slightly crazy helps, I don't know, LOL!). Not many folks are that interested in such things and I don't blame them.
Thank you! I followed along and was able to fix this beast! I'm very grateful.
You're welcome!
You explained this so well! I have tried to talk on camera and it is not as easy as you made it look. Such a helpful video! My Hoover stopped working. Hopefully 2 new filters will get it working again.
I'm so glad and thank you!
The henry vaccum been around along time been made in the same place in West country of England chard Somerset since the 1970s I have a henry xtra and a battery backpack vaccum also a numatic which is the bigger version of henry their machines can last along time some have lasted 40 years they are very powerful and as u say virtually used on ships aircraft retail etc I like them as their quiet powerful and large capacity over the revivals and mess free the first numatic vaccum was produced in 1969 for cleaning boilers but the henry came on the market in 1981 and has sold more units then any vaccum in the world 10 million
Look like you're a Henry fan!
Kim dont forget to get back in touch with me to help recommend which Sebo canister will best suit my needs and help me get the best deal you can give me! I like the smaller footprint of the K series versus the E series! Im hoping I can get a Sebo canister for right under $400 if possible! 😁😉👍 I'm leaving messages on several of your videos on your TH-cam channel so please get back in touch with me! It looks like Sebo Kombi K2 series at $399 is going to be a great choice for me since me and my wife both have allergies and we have 3 cats in the house! Best Regards, Mac Baker
Hi Mac! I’ll send you a text.
When an awesome video Kim! Definitely a great example of "thinking outside the box"! Kim you are a breath of fresh air in every video I've watched of yours regardless whether its related to vacuums or real estate! Take care and get back to me regarding my desire for you to hook me up with an entry level Miele or Sebo canister vacuum without a power head since I have all hardwood and tile floors to replace my 7 year old Miele S6 canister vac they is still going strong and sucks like crazy! Last time we talked you recommended the Sebo over the Miele! 😁🤣👍 🤗 Loving my Miele Red Triflex HX1 that you sold me! Mac Baker
Thank you so much Mac!
Kim you are going to be a force to be reckoned with in the real estate industry! I loved your presentation! I hope you got my message I left you on your TH-cam channel last night! If you didn't let me know so I can get back with you! It is regarding your ability to still hook me up.with a new Sebo or Miele canister vacuum! Take care and hope and wish you nothing but huge success in your new venture in the real estate market! Regards, Mac Baker M
This made my day. Thank you Mac!
Hello Kim! Looks like you are "rocking the house" in your new venture into being a full time real estate agent! Can you still hook me up with one of the entry level Sebo canister vacuums or even one of the newer entry level Miele canister vacuums! I know you had told me that the Sebo closed system was even better on the Sebo canister vacuums than the Miele which are obviously great quality vacuums as I can attest to having had my S6 canister vac going on 7 years now and I love my Red Miele Triflex H1 that you did sold me about 2 years ago! Get back with me and let me know on the Sebo or Miele canister vacuums and I don't have any carpet only hardwood floors and tile in kitchen and bathrooms so it doesn't need a power head on whichever unit or model I get! Take care! Congratulations on your success in the real estate venture! Best Regards, Mac Baker
HI Mac! Definitely rocking it. Thank you so much for all your support!
Is there a right side up for these filters? Esp the small one that needs to be cut?
The ones that are being cut...no.
Graet video. Garbage product.
Yeahhh...not the best version of this wand.
I was waiting for the black cat to run across the screen again. Pretty frickin area.
Stay tuned for Friday the 13th!
