Thank you. The Dementions i have are 28x8x1.75in this would include the final size in the thickness, so it would include all the parts on the bottom. But the board i made is 1in thick then the extra parts give it an extra 3/4in. :D

That’s not a bad idea, 😀 but the issue is really the hole where I filled in the model was flat so it was almost impossible to get it all in the corners. I def tried but, I wasn’t able to get it to work lol. So if I do this again or something similar I might try to fill in the corners first with glue to maybe create a funnel to the top so it can be filled easily and completely remove an rattle. 😁😁

So it’s going to be a Harry Potter Theme Wand Display.

Oh yeah the sqaure is great. It allows for way less twist and better alignment :) Im in a constant battle with those seam lines Sometime no matter how much bondo or sanding. They are relentless! Lol

Oh this is a good question I also had to try out a few different orientations But I believe what I did in the end was set it at an angle with the pointed top section away from the print bed. Because I figured the easiest place to have the supports and also be able to clean it up after easily would be the under side of the cross guard. So I set it vertical at a slight angle so the connecting side to the handle wasn’t level with the print surface. I found that it adhered and printed better if I set it at an angle instead of adhering directly and level to the print surface. I hope that made sense. Let me know if you other questions 😁

@@shmecky2818 I’d definitely do that to! 😁👍 I did the entire handle in resin then the blade in pla. The rubies I used a red transparent resin. If you wet sand then and clear coat they should turn out great! Post some pics when you finish, I’d like to see how it turns out :)

Great question! You should be able to able to apply the graphite as soon as the glossy black paint was dry. But make sure before you apply the graphite to wipe down and make sure there is no fingerprints or oils on the part. After the paint has dried you can wash it with soap and let it dry. Then once dry apply the graphite. I hope that was helpful :)

I agree, 👍though I’m pretty happy with what I put together. This was before I learned how to adjust the models for modifications. Ive had some issue with finding consistent answers. What do you think, what is the proper length? I have it at about 40in overall. Is that to short or to long? How long should the handle be? Thank you for your help :)

Well, I guess it really depends on what you want to do with it. 🙂 if you want to Cosplay with it, Eva would be a good option and I’m pretty sure it would fit most convention rules for weapons. I wanted to have a hard replica to display so I went with the 3D printed route. I don’t have a lot of personal exp with Eva but I would imagine there should be some plans or patterns for cutting out the foam somewhere online. But I would say, decide if you want it to be a Cosplay piece or display piece then go from there 😀 Thanks for the support! And reply with some pictures of the sword when you finish it 😃

And I'd love to see some pictures of yours when you complete it. Also, I have added some files to the zip to allow you to make the handle longer (i've gotten some comments saying that the handle is to short :D), you would only need to scale it along the Z axis in Cura or your slicer, and a handle with no cloth in the case you would like a longer handle and maybe without cloth. well, this one was printed in resin so it's pretty strong ( it could definitely still break if you hit it hard enough lol) but if I'm using PLA or plastic, it typically is pretty strong and tough depending on how much infill you give it, usually you won't infill 100% unless you want it to be solid :) but its a pretty durable material all around, it is plastic/PLA so you do not want to leave it in the sun, unless it's the ABS filament, but other than that it's pretty durable :P The type of filament could affect the strength though, I've only experienced this with transparent filament, but if you give it enough infill it could give it more backing inside and keep it from breaking. did that answer your question? :D
