Jägarmarschen. I augusti 1917 ordnades en dikttävling i Jägarbataljonen för att få en text till en marsch åt bataljonen. Tävlingen vanns av jägare Hfsgr Heikki Nurmio. Texten smugglades till Finland för att tonsättas av Jean Sibelius, noterna smugglades tillbaka till Libau, där marschen framfördes första gången 28.11.1917. Jääkärimarssi. Video of the Winter War Finnish bunker SJ5 "Miljoonalinnake" in Summajärvi area, Carelian Isthmus. Filmed 5.5.2018. The bunker was a part of the so called "Mannerheim Line", a Finnish defence line during the Winter War 1939-1940. I just notice that those musicians are from Bundeswehr Army band. But either way, what a beautiful march Finnish has created and preserve through time.
Yes, it has some historical reasons; during WWI Finland was still a part of the Russian Empire but trying to gain independence. As a part of that, some 2000 men travelled to Germany to recive military training there, they formed the Royal Prussian Jaeger battalion 27 and in the end of February 1918 the battalion travelled back to Finland to form the backbone of the new Finnish army and arrived to the city of Vaasa on 25th of February 1918. This march was written and composed as their march. On 24th of February 2018 this event was celebrated with an parade in Vaasa and the Stabsmusikkorps der Bundeswehr was invited to this event and gave a concert in the church of Vaasa on 23rd of February where I managed to capture this video :)

stumbled on this song randomly, I have been fascinated with Finnish music, culture and history for months now and I really want to visit as a tourist. A proud nation and by every statistic, one of the best in the world. too bad it's so cold there during winter :/
Global warming gonna take care of that for ya, average temperature in Helsinki has increased by 2.6 degrees Celsius in the past 100 years (from 4°C to 6.6°C) and that trend is only in it's starting phase. That aside, having adapted to the north is a core part of the culture. Finland's not Finland without a winter of some sort.

Ihmettelen vain tässä videolla sitä että ensin yleisö nousee ja sitten vasta harmaa asuiset sotilaat.Eli jos yleisö olisi istunut nämä armeijan harmaassa olisi istuneet myös . No ilmankos tykistö ja jalkaväki lakkautettiin täältä.Jäi meille vielä onttola. Siellä koulutetaan vielä.
