I have never heard someone disparage The Fortune so much (as being surpassed by Buddy, Buddy as one of the worst comedies ever filmed). I honestly don't recall seeing The Fortune (1975) but it did not receive 'Bad" reviews (besides Siskel and Ebert) like, say, Warren Beatty's (and Dustin Hoffman) infamous comedy bust Ishtar. anyways. ( interesting to note Mike Nichols did not direct another movie for 7 years after The Fortune. Nichols did fire the screenwriter in the process of making The Fortune. I cannot remember what I had for breakfast a week ago, but I remember what I was doing before the 9/11 attacks happened, I remember being told what was going on, remember turning on the TV, and unfortunately, I remember seeing people forced to make a choice. I cannot even imagine what those people went through, not do I want to. To be put into a situation that you didn't create, and you have to make a choice of jumping out of a building, full knowing what's going to happen, or to make the choice to stay, full knowing what's going to happen to you is truly terrifying. Prayers to all the families who were affected by these cowardly events, prayers to those who passed on 9/11. All I can do is send condolences. This year will mark 24 years since that unfortunate day. Honestly, there has not been a month that has gone by since that day when I did not think about 9/11/01.
