My story is similar, only we both had already been married before. I try not to, but I cannot help wishing we had met sooner. Yet, there again, our past experience (and offspring) make us who we are now. With past experiences under our belts, we knew how to pursue a much better course. Coincidently, we are nearing our 29th wedding anniversary, and have 9 grandchildren betwixt us.

This entire story warmed my heart and made me smile❣️I wish I had stayed connected with a certain young man that I met in 5th grade. We spent a lot of time feigning an intense dislike for one another; but secretly, I was sure he actually liked me as much as I was smitten with him! We went to different schools after 6th grade, and I didn’t miss him. But, unbeknownst to me, a close friend in high school knew the young man because their parents were friends; and their mothers arranged for their son to accompany my friend to our senior prom! My mother had made a similar arrangement with the mother of a young man whom I considered more as a brother than as a potential prom date. . . At the prom, my former “rival” from 5th grade and I struck up a conversation, and we danced together almost as much as we danced with our actual dates! He contacted me, and took me on several dates that summer; and even made a surprise visit to me in college that fall, since our schools were located in the same city. Regretfully, we didn’t remain in contact after freshman year because in the 60s, we were without advanced forms of communication, such as smart phones or social media, that are taken for granted today; but I do know that I’ve not found him on Facebook. . .🤭

The little girl came with her family to visit her grandmother who lived next door to my family. I was five, she was three, the first time we met. Later they moved to our town and when I was a Junior in High School, I took her to the Jr-Sr Prom. Years later, I decided I was going to marry her, and let her know of my interest. When I was twenty-two and she was twenty we got married. We had two children, a boy and a girl. They now are in their early forties and have two children each. Three boys and one girl. So the lineage will continue.
