My first car was a 73 Gold Duster that my mother bought brand new, I wreaked it of course. This car is beautiful (outside) but that interior needs serious work, green, black, gold and tan ? 🤢

Holding up on the shift lever does not activate anything the steering column is worn out and needs to be disassembled and new upper bearing and lower bushings as well as the neutral safety switch adjusted. That is why it was never this way new it is worn just nonsense I’ve restored one of these cars Completely not just a shiny paint job

safety device, not a flaw..7 years later

If he has to hold up the shift lever to get the top to work, something is messed up! Not surprised! Those were troublesome and they would pop into reverse from park. Making matters worse, when they popped into reverse, the parking brake would pop off and the car would take off! Lousy engineering!

This gen with the wide bodies (GS, Z06, ZR1) have aged well. I suspect they will continue to do so. Well, the exterior anyways. Beautiful.

Where is the 340?

Why does he have to hold the shift lever up to operate the top ??? Also, i noticed the trunk lid does not fit flush at the back of the rear seats. Other than those two things that--------a nice car.

Beautiful car, sort of restored, sort of modified, but beautiful. Those ugly old bumpers guards aren't pretty but they were distinctive '73(although just a few early 74's had that bumper. I wouldn't change them! Would sure have rather seen a 340, like might have been a factory motor in '73, but a BEAUTY.

Olds 403 V8. Not the TA6.6 but, still enjoyable. The Pontiac 400 could NOT be had w/ automatic. I had the latter in NYC , driving a stick in city be a pain. But, when I drove on highway, AWESOME. I had 1 set of T-tops stolen @ Yonkers mall parking lot. Aside from that hiccup gr8 car. Njoy

I own the same car and i pocked up a yellow gts for the wife. Always loved these cars and glad they werent appreciated as both cars i bought cost me under $50k and both have less than 15k miles on them.
