Great build mate , im building gasless setup as well its the future. One question on the consumer unit. They come with a 10amp and 6 amp. Im thinking about swapping these out to 16amps to accomodate bigger shore power loads . Also being mindful of 2300w 10amp campsite breakers .

For those with more limited space, a single ring induction hob can be used with an inexpensive standalone "rice cooker" - used to simmer most things, with a low 250w power rating.

How mqny amp draw that on a basis daily use ...breakfast ,lunch and dinner ?? Thanks a lot keep riding!!!

do you have inks to the draw and kitchen units.? I am just going to redo my kitchen in my van, but an looking at the units being about 500 deep. most prebuilt units are 600.. not too keen on cutting them back, it would maybe easier just to build units..

Well produced video, but there are technical safety issues and suggestions for better performance. Fuse at the battery terminals. It's advised to use a suitable fuse on any cable connected to the battery positive as close as practical. Under fault conditions a lithium battery can deliver in the region of 7000 amps, a Mega fuse cannot withstand this. Fuses have a fuse rating that we use to protect cables and appliances but there is also a withstand rating, the maximum current the fuse can tollerate. A Megs fuse has a withstand upp to 2000 amps. Suitable fuses are MRBF, Class T, HRC , BS88, these are rated at 10,000 amps for MRBF, and over 20000 amps for the others. Idealy the fuse should be installed no more than 15 cm from the battery positive. You needfuses in the cable to the distributer fused and in the cable to the battery charger. There seems to be no RCD on the output of the Renogy inverter. Regulations require a permantly installed inverter feeding distributed outlets to have a RCD and have a neutral to earth bond in the inverter. Not all inverters allow this bond. Victron and Sterling Powef inverters have this bond, thus alowing a RCD to work correctly. With your large battery and proposed electric cooking the solar and alternator charging is a little underpowered, ideally you need more of both. The Victron Orion B2B issues. Check the recommended fuses values. The Orion runs hot reducing the output power, many users fit a small computer fan. The Orion XS, a 50 amp unit, is a better alternative. The cable to the inverter looks a bit on the small side. You will get volt drops so at least 70mm2 cable should be used. You will find the isolator switch also has a unwanted drop, either change to a better switch or wire the inverter differently

Awesome jobs mate. The van's looking great. I have to mention that I would clip the hob cable to the wall next to the socket, as it will rattle like that. It might wear through where it goes through the hole too, if it can move about.

Could I ask please, how necessary is it to have a consumer unit? I contacted Renogy and asked if it is okay to use class one appliances plugged straight into a 3000w inverter and they said yes that it is fine. Is this because of maintaining British standards? Would it not pass an electrical test without this?

How are you handling the safety issue of the senorgy inverter being centre tapped?

I'm just doing a Crafter and my electrical system is very similar to yours, I've got the 460AH Fogstar, Victron mppt 100/20 with 3 2 x 175W panels on the roof (I may upgrade the mppt later) I have the Victron Orion 12/12/30 and the lynx distributer, I've gone for the Victron Multiplus II 12/3000/120, which is equivalent to your Fogstar charger and Renogy Inveter. All in all a very similar system, I'm potentially going to put my 12v fusebox over the sliding door in a cupboard and distribute all the circuits from there. I'm also thinking of a no-gas van at the moment, Induction hob and most likely an air fryer of some description. Thanks for the video, it's been helpful and informative.

In a tad confused. You’ve wired it as per the instructions (same as any of us would have) but the red light is illuminated on the case which means polarity is reversed. “It also features a reverse polarity indicator warning light that illuminates red if the live and neutral at the site supply are reversed.” Is it wired back to front on the hook up on the side of the van or is the house socket wrong or have I missed something?

I am doing a very similar setup myself. I noticed you have not wired up the fuse lights on the lynx yet? I got my 12v-5v step down converter just need to get around to doing it. I didn't know when I purchased my Lynx that the lights on the front would not work properly unless you hack a wire to the RJ45 port or have the full system. Thankfully TH-cam had a couple videos how to do it.

What size is the cable to the distributor and from there to the Inverter? 3000w/12 is some 250 Amps, that cable doesn't look big enough for 250 Amps, if it is ok, do you have the spec for the cable, thanks.

Nice video well explained. I'm on the process of designing my peugeot boxer electrical dc/ac . Learning about fuses , cable sizing and voltage drop. Going victron route as like yourself I want to be electric and no gas. Done a power audit now just got to sell a kidney to get the blue stuff 😂.

Would love to see how you connect the D+ wire for the DC - DC charger.. I've heard it can be done via the cigarette lighter socket. I don't fancy splicing in to the ignition wire, 🙄 any info would be much appreciated man ✊
