FOODMAS: Perfect Chiffon Cake Recipe | Light, Airy, and Easy to Make!
Fluffy Chiffon Cake Recipe
Ingredients
Wet Ingredients:
• 6 large eggs (separated into yolks and whites)
• 80ml (1/3 cup) vegetable oil
• 100ml (just under 1/2 cup) water
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients:
• 150g (1 1/4 cups) all-purpose flour
• 150g (3/4 cup) granulated sugar
• 1 tsp baking powder
• 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
1. Preheat and Prepare the Pan:
• Preheat your oven to 170°C (340°F).
• Use a chiffon cake tin or an ungreased aluminum tube pan. Do not grease the pan, as this helps the cake cling to the sides and rise properly.
2. Separate the Eggs:
• Separate the 6 eggs into yolks and whites. Place the yolks in one bowl and the whites in another.
3. Prepare the Dry Ingredients:
• Sift the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt into a large bowl. This helps to evenly combine the ingredients and ensures a light, airy cake.
4. Mix the Wet Ingredients:
• In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, vegetable oil, water, and vanilla extract until smooth and pale.
5. Beat the Egg Whites:
• Using a stand mixer or hand mixer with the whisk attachment, beat the egg whites on high speed until stiff peaks form. This step creates the structure and volume for your chiffon cake.
6. Combine the Batter:
• Add the sifted dry ingredients to the egg yolk mixture and whisk until smooth and fully combined.
• Gently fold in the stiff egg whites in thirds. The first addition lightens the batter, while the remaining two additions should be folded gently to avoid deflating the mixture.
7. Transfer to the Pan and Bake:
• Pour the batter into the ungreased chiffon cake tin, smoothing the top with a spatula.
• Place the cake on the lowest rack of the oven and bake at 170°C (340°F) for 50-60 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
8. Cool the Cake:
• Immediately invert the tin onto a wire rack and let the cake cool completely in the pan upside down. This prevents the cake from collapsing as it cools.
9. Serve:
• Once cool, run a knife around the edges of the pan to release the cake. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with fresh cream and strawberries for a simple and elegant dessert. Enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee for the perfect treat!

I am a married woman 37 years with 2 kids when I tell you I am not good with cooking that I don’t or never even try .But your recipes are soo simple .I tried scones dear they taste soo good . Zimbabweans Christmas food looks similar to Botswana 🇧🇼 ones .I bet we all eat same in Southern Africa..7 colors or several colors we call it that way in Botswana .
