This movie was "bad" in the same sense the The Godfather was "bad," it's not just mindless action.

This movie predates me by a couple years, and I remember watching it as a child and thinking "I must not be old enough to get it," which is kind of insane given the fact that it's a *comic book movie*. In retrospect though, I was absolutely right -- I WASN'T old enough to get it, and I think it's that bold choice that makes this film age so gracefully.

Hulk vs Fenris actually works from a scaling standpoint. Since Fenris has no feats other than making Hulk struggle, there's no anti feats to claims Fenris is weaker than a leviathan. Fenris fight just proves Hulk ≥ Fenris > Leviathan. The scaling on Thor is a bit odd though.

For as much as I agree with this critique, I somehow leave this video with the satisfaction that we got all this “growth” in Hulk/Banner without the any filmmaker’s ability to actually show us it be played out because of whatever BS rights issue. I always was attached to this movie for the simple fact of having trauma similar to what young Bruce experienced. All the uncontrollable anger that followed with my trauma really makes me connect to this movie. Especially at the end when Bruce faces his father. I think thats why I was always obsessed with the hulk. It took a while to figure out why my cousin was scared of this movie as a kid. Going to have to watch this tonight.

They should just scrub she hulk from all mcu timelines, and if we see jen again act like this show didn't happen

Mark ruffalo is a four time Oscar nominee, maybe one of the reasons they cut his character down is so the other actors don’t get out played, as great as all the other actors are I don’t think it’s any secret that RDJ and Ruffalo are easily the best actors in any given scene, I think the only reason ruffalo’s acting in the mcu got stale was because he realized how inconsistent the character was becoming, it’s just a hypothesis though and I don’t know how much I believe it myself.

I always found it dumb that Ross attacked Bruce in a busy public place knowing he would transform. I like how in the 2003 film Ross captures Bruce by knocking him out in a secluded location.

To be honest I don't think the movie was good but I do think it was onto something it just needed a little bit more work

Having a Hulk-out is actually the worst outcome for Bruce in leading a normal life: He lashes out in anger when he'd rather carry himself and keep that side under control. Even the Incredible Hulk from 2008 made a concentrated effort to explore that dynamic.
