Objectively speaking, India had no issues facing Narine. Just check how the Indian batters handled him in the series where Sehwag got his first double ton.

Ajmal and Narine were topping the charts in the shorter formats, then icc came in. The cricket world lost two genuine off spinners and possibly the art of off spin because since their ban there has hardly been any off spinner foxing the batsman. All I see today is leg spinners dominating, there has to be a balance.

Don't know Narine but I lived in the West Indies when they had a spinner from Trinidad named Ranjie Nanan. He was very good and led Trinidad to many regional titles. Never got a break with the West Indies because they played four and five fast bowlers at the time with great results. No good for the modern one day game though. The subtlety has gone out from the game. Many of these so-called batsmen today would be called Voopers in my time. Hve not looked at a game for many years.
Nanan died 2 years ago at 62,he played one test for WI and took 2 wickets in each innings.he was never picked again thou.
