CHARITY SHOP GAME HUNTING (BIG SURPRISE)
Fantastic interview and a very interesting watch. Dave is a legend.
Thank you for watching. Dave is a really nice guy 🙂
Thanks for the shout-out and the showing of the Subnautica Game. I really hope you enjoy it, mate. Plus, there are some really good games there. The two point campus was a steal of a game. 😊
Glad you got the game I sent you. The second yooka laylee sucks. Don’t play it. Looking at your footage, the first one looks completely different. Nice to see you get extras with the campus and Maria game
Appreciate the detailed breakdown! I have a quick question: I have a SafePal wallet with USDT, and I have the seed phrase. (alarm fetch churn bridge exercise tape speak race clerk couch crater letter). How should I go about transferring them to Binance?
Nice picks up as always mate. Mafia 3 is decent but a bit repetitive, great story line and soundtrack though 👌 🏁🏁🏁
Great pickups.... but sorry to say that Fallout 4 DLC is via a code, it's not on the disk sadly. A lot of people don't realise so they try and sell the GOTY box for more. Fallout 4 was a 50p or £1 game in cash converters until the TV show. Price is falling back down again now. I really enjoyed Deadpool. But you have to be careful. The game makes it sound like you can choose your combat style.... but in reality I found that only one combat style worked well. But it was a long time ago and can't remember the exact details now.
Well that’s my weekend ruined now 😞 haha Yeah it went crazy, I know New Vegas GOTY was peaking around £40 on the 360! Deadpool is really funny, I’m genuinely laughing out loud to it. Gameplay is a bit meh though, combat reminds me of the Arkham games
Mafia 3 🙌🏻 i often hear people criticise it and I know bits are repetitive, but the soundtrack and feel of New Bordeaux are great.
What game isn’t repetitive these days? I’ll definitely keep an open mind when playing. I’ll let you know if I like it
@@GriffosRetroGaming it's definitely worth a play and I like the change in storyline from the first two Mafia games. I think it probably suffered being released after GTA5, as from that point any similar game would be compared to it.
Really kind gifts.....like you said, some top people in our community 👍
There really is. How are you mate, hope you’re well
@@GriffosRetroGaming feeling tip top Alex👍👍
That DSi is well nice, I'm going to keep my eye out for one. Still using my Launch DS Lite. Is that a standard DSi or did they do a XL?
Yeah there’s a DSi XL and they look huge haha. There’s a really nice colour variation on the XL called “wine” which is a really deep red and it looks amazing.
Is JP's main game still Manic Miner on his rubber key speccy?
Guitar hero 1 and 2 were PS2 exclusives at the time, i think they played better on a CRT tv
Yeah first 360 didnt have HDMI it did 1080i as max resolution over component cable. Its built in upscaler chip was excellent though. My TVs upscaler was crap at the time so playing majority of PS3 games at 720p wasnt the best back then. 360 looked great on a CRT or PC monitor using VGA cable.
Great chat guys. The Saints Row 3rd remaster on the xbox one/PS4 was a good remaster. Skyrim remaster was a nice visual upgrade but they didn't fix quest breaking bugs. So it was really lazy. The bugs are really well documented and are fixed in the community patch. So there is no excuse not to fix the bugs in the remaster. I also played skyrim PSVR remaster. The graphics were really low resolution but the game was really immersive. I would walk into a shop or tavern and just be amazed at all the items on the shelves etc. You hardly notice the environments when playing normally but in VR these details really stand out and make the world feel real.
Hey have u ever done a podcast before?
Great listen that lads 😄 some of these licences like the last of us, skyrim, gta 5 have been on 3 console generations havent they? All they needed was just to be backwards compatible at not full new games, well for me anyway 😂 the best remakes ive played are toki and wonderboy the dragon's trap, awesome games 😄
Great discussion video. I don't really have a problem with re-releases / remasters and remakes in general unless it's stopping studios from bringing out new games. The way to do it is by giving the IP to a remaster specialist like Bluepoint, this is a great way of doing it. The original studios can carrying on developing new games and the remakes / remasters cater to the fans who want it. Everyone is happy. However, we've not got devs such as Bethesda, Naughty Dog, Guerilla games etc taking their own time with remasters that it's stunted the industry as there's a very slow flow of new games and when new games take years to make it's a death stroke. The biggest problem is the games industry is now run by multicorporate business are buying studios and want easy money back on their investments.
I use the trading card pages in a binder for mine. I find it quick and easy. Anyhow, that box looks amazing.
started playing BG1 for the first time on ps4, and as a life-long console gamer i found the controls to be fine, in fact im enjoying it so much it’s got me lookin up d&d lore vids on utube….cloakwood was bullshit tho honestly
Im still on PS4 and Xbox One, given up on playing the latest or recent games.
Totally understand, very little has come out to warrant upgrading to a series or PS5. The faster load times are one benefit but other then that, I’m struggling to justify the series X purchase
me too. PS4, switch to a lesser degree and now I'm starting to enjoy PC. I feel zero desire to get PS5.
That rugby game is £10 in CEX now
Bloody typical 😂
@GriffosRetroGaming Haha always the way mate
Loved the creative intro mate 😁 need to do more 👍
Cheers Sean, I’m gonna do some more of these types of video
What a lovely gesture and i hope them sweets got to the kids and didnt end up on your desk hahahaha
Always nice to get a parcel. How dare you suggest that I might have nicked the sweets…….i did think about it in honesty haha
12:30 Now this was a fun surprise to see in my recommended, but the staff member in question is in fact watching this video! I'm glad you enjoyed Etrian Odyssey IV and hearing that you have been wanting it for a while makes it worth giving up myself lol Great video!
And duuum
Lovely stuff therr, especially the alike in the dark strategy guide! I've never that series of games at all but I'd like to
Your not a fan of gravesend then 😂. Nor played a dungeon crawler for years, sounds interesting. Great pick ups.
Hahaha it’s erm, yeah, it’s ok 😂 I recommend Etrian and definitely check out Legend of Grimrock, I really enjoyed it
Lol great intro matey.. almost like an episode of Wish You Were Here 😂 Nice to see Burnout Revenge in the background.. great game 😎👍
Haha I wish I had Judith Chalmers armies mate haha Yeah not a racing fan but Burnout is brilliant, all out fun
Have you been offered a job by the Gravesend tourist board mate🤣 Great intro Alex Bit of a trek for you that wasn't it 👍
I’m probably banned from Gravesend now 😂 Yeah we have family down there so I killed 2 birds with 1 stone so to speak. Hope you’re well mate
Great video mate. Gotta admit that dungeon game looks good. Never played any of them ones. Also the editing was oright mate.
Yeah Etrian is fantastic. Try Legend of Grimrock too, you can pick it up cheap on steam 👍
I liked the new ideas. Always worth trying them out. #HKR 😊
A lot of charity shops have gotten wise and end up keeping games aside to sell on eBay. I ended up buying some PS1 games from an eBay store and then realised it was sold by a charity shop local to me--they still bloody posted it despite me telling them I'm a 5 minute walk and would collect!
I’m lucky if I find a fifa game these days. There’s also the people that have the relationships with the charity shops so they get all the good stuff first. Hahaha as though they still posted it out 😂
Very nice box of goodies there matey.. can't beat a good strategy guide 😎👍
Ths xploder dvd is an awesome freebie!
The dvds look good. Id forgotten about getting them on magazines as previews 😊
The Alan partridge of gaming 😂 That’s hilarious I never knew he was so self depreciating
Bit of Gervais, too
Great video man, nice little bundle. I had that xploder region free disc back in the day, it was the only way I could watch NTSC dvds before you could easily buy players that could be hacked, nice bit of kit
that's a beautiful condition guide too. had to comment on that specifically.
A shame the Deus Ex one wasn't as good as the Alone in the Dark, as although Griffo's keeping it in his game guide library, it's worth more than it cost new on eBay now; the Alone in the Dark one, not so much.
@@boilerhousegarage I love guides but I don't have too many due to space here at home . I only get ones that mean a lot to me and AITD would be amazing. the other one may be more valuable but it doesn't mean much to me. I do have two of the Deus Ex games (WiiU and PS4) but haven't played too much.
Yeah I get that with guides and its definitely worth getting guides for big RPG games. I tend to go to hardback guides for my favourite games
We just got Alone In The Dark remake on PC and it came with all of the previous iterations. We paid for the best edition for all the extras because I wanted to relive the old game I used to play in the 90s on our family PC.
I still play the original 2 games on 3DO. I was curious about the remake, as at least you can play as Emily Hartwood as well as Carnby like in the first game.
@@boilerhousegarage Do far my wife and I like it a lot. it's been worth it for us. but I've heard some people just don't enjoy it... maybe if there's a demo, check it out.
I never really got into Alone in the Dark but it’s only £20 here in the UK so I’m gonna have to get it
Quality items to be sent to you. Postage must of cost a pretty penny but what a great package.
Can’t beat a lovely box of freebies
You know it Mark 🙂
You're welcome and thanks very much for the shout-out! I'm glad you can make use of at least some of it as I appreciate it's a very random mix of stuff. I collect PlayStation 1 specifically (although I do have a Panasonic 3DO, Philips CDi and Atari ST) so anything else I get is in a mixed lot bundle on eBay, so I just pass things on if I don't collect them (my local postman gets anything Mega Drive that I end up with) so someone can keep or sell them on. I was expecting another couple of parcels with stuff I was going to send to you, but they took too long to arrive, but I can certainly send another in the future once there's enough to at least be worth you going through.. Evri kicked the hell out of that parcel box by the look of it! 😳 Deus Ex was also on PlayStation 2, just called Deus Ex in the PAL region and "Deus Ex The Conspiracy" in the US/NTSC--the guide will work for both games but the PC one is buggy and the PS2 one is full of level loading due to memory restrictions, so it's best to play the modern patched and graphically updated PC versions. I didn't know about Blob 2 until I checked the cartridge just before bundling up, so a but gutted it's the wrong game, but still worth hanging on to in case a cartridge only one appears.. plus I think it's a French box. Anyway, thanks again for the shout out, I'll keep you posted if I get another boxful of randoms and I'll look forward to your next video. Cheers 👍
No thank you for the gifts man, it’s always nice to receive especially when you’re not expecting it. Don’t get me started on Evri btw 😂, looks like that parcel Ace Ventura was delivering 😂
Yes mate that mortal kombat is the same one on the psvita. The only difference is that the psvita version as different style play and extra characters.
Ah really, gonna have to give it a blast then. MK is my favourite of the fighting games
Early bath
I like what I see of Dave Perry, always have since I was a kid.
Well done, good interview, enjoyed it.
Much appreciated! Dave was a really nice guy too
I need to add those then! I'm saving up for a boxed jap new 3ds atm
Dave’s best skill was a reviewer.
Hi Alex! Just been watching a few of your vids and I've got a couple of Prima official strategy guides I was going to eBay, but saw you have a pretty big collection of them so rather donate them to the channel if you want them? I've got a few charity shop leftover games (as in games I don't collect) that I can throw in too.
Hey man sorry for the late reply. I’d definitely be interested in some for sure. Message me on Facebook, just Griffo’s Retro Gaming
@@GriffosRetroGaming No worries, just messaged your FB page.
I genuinely thought Dave Perry was hamming it up with the Mario challenge because of the comedic nature of Dom and the show. I had no idea that Dave was part of the launch team, let alone editor of multiple magazines. This is a great interview, and Dave speaks so much common sense in this current world(albeit 4 years ago)
Great interview! I love GamesMaster and I think that Dominik Diamond was a fantastic host, but I must say in regards to the whole Mario 64 controversy, that I do believe that Dave Perry was done dirty. They really did set him up and then gaslit him when he (understandably) was upset by the ordeal.Even Diamond himself has since gone on to express regret for the manner in which that whole episode was handled. It's a pity that Perry is now forever associated with that one, single episode, above anything else. Having said that, at least he seems to take it in his stride.
