I have replaced my Speed UTV with a real desert car thats has an 1,100hp twin turbo ls3 ready to rip Glamis! The last 4 months were spent customizing the car and getting it ready to debut Veterans Weekend in Glamis.
Time to replace the Lilly Pad and free up space on the boat!

I do have 4’ fiberglass day whips to be visible.
killer car welcome to the sand car life you will not regret getting out of that utv. also it wont hurt to use the clutch. I highly recommend not shifting this car without the clutch until you are completely comfortable in your timing to unload the dogs correctly. Join the glamisforums community and read through some of the sandrail tech threads there's alot to learn.
Thanks for the info, I am already a member and have been reading through the threads. When I drove the car I did some shifting with the clutch and some without and preferred the clutch. I was able to shift the speed no problem and hope to get the sequential shifting down by the weekend. Im coming with 120 gallons of fuel and plan to burn it all getting to know the car.
@@davesthrottleadventures Right on. That and Race-Dezert are excellent resources for this sport and Sean with Weddle on the Glamis forums has tons of knowledge with these gear boxes in the transaxle thread. the speed is slightly different in the manner in which it shifts utilizing i believe a viscous clutch or some kind of dampener. these gear boxes do not have any of that so there's a good chance of chewing the teeth off of the dog rings if they aren't unloaded correctly. But it just takes practice. check out my build thread on Glamis forums and if you see us out there this weekend come say what's up. Ride safe and get all of that fuel burnt there's nothing more disappointing than bringing a bunch of it home LOL.

I'm all about transparency so my question is why did you not post this information when it was happening? Why are you now trying to bash RG & SPEEDUTV ?
I did post everything as it happened on my IG account in the moment, besides the fire I waited a few weeks to see how it was going to be handled. I’m sharing my real life personal experiences and not bashing at all, everything that happened is true. I’m also not the only car to catch fire or customer told not to post what’s really happening. My Speed UTV was not at all what I expected from RG after waiting 4 years and spending over $60k to buy. It was a complete let down and many others feel the same way sadly.

If that were true there would never be a UTV fire in Glamis! It is always better to use a fire extinguisher first and if that is not working then use sand as a last resort. I have seen many people try to put out a fire with sand and have been unsuccessful. 🤡

Yup, more are listed every day for sale. It was a great concept but executed poorly in my opinion.
I'm actually am interested in buying your machine!!! Why.?? For TH-cam videos. Every minute I would be driving it there would be a bunch of go pro's on the machine... and everything that goes wrong will be online so people can see what's rellay GOING on with those machines... and if parts are a problem. I will find others companies that can make me a one off part. Or figure out what parts can be bought from the manufacturer for that particular part. There's going to be a decent amount of things that you will find. That more than likely is being used in a different way on different vehicles or equipment of some kind... i will make it my mission to find replacement parts, without going through speed. And I'll let everyone know where and how to find them!!!! My family has been in the power sports business since the 60's and at our current location since the late 70's!!! AND I'VE NEVER HEARD OF ANYTHING LIKE THIS. TO HAVE THE MANUFACTURER CALL AND MAKE THREATS.. THAT YOU CAN'T MAKE VIDEOS ABOUT THE MACHINE.. I ACTUALLY THINK THERE MIGHT BE SOME LEGAL ISSUES WITH THAT. MAKING THREATS OF NOT SELLING YOU PARTS SO YOU WOULD END UP WITH A MACHINE THAT WAS NOT WORKING BECAUSE YOU NEEDED A PART THAT ONLY SPEED MAKES... THATS JUST NOT HOW YOU TREAT A CUSTOMER AT ALL. ESPECIALLY SOMEONE WHO HAS SPENT ALL THAT MONEY ON ONE OF HIS NOT PROVEN MACHINES. THIS RIGHT HERE IS WHY YOU SHOULD NOT BUY A SPEED UTV IN MY OPINION. AND MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING ISSUES AS WELL..R.G... HAD JUST PROVED HE'S A KID!! AND DOSENT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING BUT TAKEN YOUR MONEY. AND IF YOU DON'T KISS HIS ASS AND LISTEN AND DO WHAT HE TELLS YOU TO DO OR NOT TO DO... HE'S GOING TO DO WHAT HE CAN TO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR SPEED UTV CAN'T BE FIXED. ALL BECAUSE IT NEEDS A PART THAT CAN ONLY BE GOTTEN FROM SPEED. BUT BECAUSE YOU MADE A VIDEO HE WON'T SELL YOU PARTS!!! THATS BULLSHIT, AND SHOULD AND MIGHT BE AGAINST THE LAW. YOU CAN FIND THE PHONE NUMBER FOR MY SHOP PRETTY EZ. IF YOU CAN'T FIND IT MESSAGE ME AND I'LL GIVE IT TO YOU... AS A POWER SPORTS BUSINESS OWNER. I never even thought twice about owning a canam until the weekend my second engine blew and I met a few owners at Swingset with almost 20,000 miles in their machine. I was throughly impressed with what they shared with me and now would have no problem owning one. I was actually going to get the new 4 seat but it’s too long for my stacker.
Throw sand on there and the fire would have been out. TA-DA! 🤩
Sand wouldn’t have worked, the head cracked and spit oil all over the engine and exhaust which ignited from the hot turbo.

Did MTS specifically engineer the spring package to the El Jefe? Or are they using generic spring kit? Love to hear your thoughts on the comparison between stock and MTS
These springs were selected because of the weight of the ElJefe and my driving style. MTS will tailor the car to each individual customers needs. it is a night and day difference compared to stock, I hove no more bottoming out.
Pro r looks way to soft.
pro r is a little soft and we are going to stiffen it up a bit for more aggressive driving style.

That's isn't a b pillar, it's a doubled up a pillar. The b pillar is in the middle.
Great vid, Dave! (And no background music is much appreciated!) Unless I missed it, no one in the comments section has yet mentioned the elephant in the room.....suspension geometry. Any sxs with rear radius rods will cause the rear tires to get closer to and farther from each other (known as track width scrub) as the rear wheels go up and down. At high speed in the rough stuff, that can cause the rear of the car to be very squirrelly. The Speed car's rear suspension geometry with beefy trailing arms and no radius rods results in essentially zero track width scrub. That translates to a smoother, more controlled ride especially at high speed in the rough stuff. Also, the inner pivot points on the Speed car's trailing arms are mounted lower than the outer pivot points. That causes the rear of the Speed car to hunker down when a lateral load is applied (eg, when turning the car) rather than experiencing the pole vaulting effect that happens with cars with rear radius rods which leads to a propensity for the car to roll. So the Speed car is safer because it is much less likely to roll as compared to other suspension geometry designs.
