Welcome to Family Day Off! We are the Peralta-Gemora family: Chris, Krystle, Damien and Izi. We are a family who loves to explore and experience life to the fullest. It's Family Day Off's first trip to Tokyo, Japan, and after arriving at Narita Airport at midnight,
Krystle was surprisingly excited-there was just something about the vibe that felt so uniquely "Japanese."
She practically wanted to buy everything!
Meanwhile, Chris grabbed a few meals and had a little fun figuring out how read the instructions in japanese.
Our haul from the convenience store felt like we’d stumbled upon hidden treasures!
The next day, we explored the area, starting with Aqua City, the mall right next to our hotel.
It turned out to be pretty standard, nothing too out of the ordinary.
But the real excitement hit when we found a Toys R Us!
Since they’re no longer in the U.S., Krystle was thrilled and went a bit wild, grabbing winter clothes and baby food for Izi.
Honestly, if she could’ve, she would’ve bought even more. That was definitely the highlight of the mall for us.
We checked out this super cool indoor amusement park Tokyo Joypolis! In Odaiba DECKS Tokyo Beach Mall.
The best part? It's all indoors, so you can have fun no matter the weather-whether it's hot, cold, or raining.
There are over 20 different attractions, including a roller coaster!
Unfortunately, Izi was a bit too small for most of the rides, so we didn’t get to try them out this time.
Afterward, we explored more of what Decks Tokyo Beach Mall has to offer.
The 3rd floor of the mall is designed to look like an old Japanese town, complete with charming Yokocho alleyways.
The stores were overflowing with kawaii items, and Krystle had a hard time stopping herself from buying everything!

The best part for Izi was discovering an indoor playground called 'The Kids.' at the Decks Mall.
It’s an all-weather play area for children of all ages, with bright colors and tons of fun activities --
--like a jungle gym, ball pool, slides, trampolines, and ride-on toys.

We wrapped up the day with a visit to the mall that features the famous Gundam Statue. Unfortunately, the mall closed early, so we didn’t get to fully explore.

But the food court saved the day-all the dishes we tried were absolutely delicious.
It was the perfect way to end an amazing first day in Odaiba, Japan!

It's alleged that the trees he used for the wood experienced a long period of cold at some point, which slowed their growth and caused the woodgrain to grow tighter/the rings are closer together. That region hasn't experienced that kind of weather since. Those trees are gone to never be used for another instrument.
