I've got a Mitsubishi GTO, factory recommended Tyre size is 225/50/17 front and 245/45/17 rear. I wanna put 245/45/17 front & 265/40/17 rear. Basically getting wider tyres that fit my 8jj front rim and 9jj rear. Now I'll be driving 240 km/HR meaning 150 mph. I've heard sports cars tyres expand on high speeds so is it going to be good or bad getting wider tyres? Thanks.

How much stretch did you end up having ?
@@Gg-pp6el just the same width as the edge of the rim itself. Or a close to a pinky length. I can’t stick my pinky in it lol it’s perfect

@@Gg-pp6el yes. And a daily drive the shit out of it for the past eight years. Long trips, lots of city. I’ve put almost 200k and so far so good. However I did put and still I am putting a lot of money into mine as we speak

I got 18.10.5 all around on my z u think that would fit with this tire setup no problems?

Do you think same size of wheels in this video will fit on a 2017 camry se with no rubbing the fenders?
you will need modifications and spacers, but can be done. not gonna be a direct fit because these are way wider than oem.

Bro I got ESR SR07s 18x9.5+30mm but do you think 225/40ZR18 tires will work on my 06 RSX Type S or nah?? Just really curious since I’m new to the car game and don’t want to miss up and waste like $410 on tires that won’t be any good? I’ll appreciate your help my g😁
Depends. Do you have coilovers ? If you do, 225 will be the thickest tires you’ll be able to run on 9.5s for your Acura & you will absolutely have to roll your fenders & possibly pull them or you might rub a bit

What is the purpose of “stretching” a tire on to a wider rim than the tire was intended for? Looks like a safety hazard and maybe the shop that installed them would be at fault if anything were to happen.
Not sure why this rumor still going around. It is not a safety issue if your running car under normal conditions. If your not drifting or racing you will be fine. The whole purpose of "stretching" a tire is to get a unique look and for clearance purposes.
