Australia
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 24 ส.ค. 2019
Hi and welcome to our channel. We hope to bring you videos and stills of our amazing country. I have a chronic illness, so everything we get to see, is within reach of the average person, no hard core 4x4 action (altho a 4x4 may be needed for some things), no extreme sports, just getting out and about because - Life's always better when you're out and about! From a Sunday arvo drive to a 7 week trek through the outback, we will be sharing our lives with you.

Gecko in the Gascoyne 2024
มุมมอง 1.4K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
This year hasnt been our year for travel. With setting up the new vehicle (2002 79 series Landcruiser), we decided to stick closer to home and thoroughly test everything. The Tvan was perfect as always. This is also our first time with a longer, all in one, video for our holiday format. Let us know if you prefer this, or the shorter episodes! In this video, we travel around the Gascoyne, Murchi...

มุมมอง 1084 หลายเดือนก่อน
In June 2024, we took our 3 year old blue heeler, Gecko, on a trip around the Murchison-Gascoyne region. Sadly we were plagued by rain and closed roads, so the trip did not go as planned. We still had a great time, and are putting together the footage to share with you now. This is just a small teaser of what is to come. 2002 79 series landcruiser 2009 Tvan Gecko the Australian Cattle Dog Gasco...

Here it is, the first trip for the Landcruiser, and first big trip for Gecko. This tirip was just a quick getaway to the Goldfields to be sure that we were comfortable with the new set up, and that Gecko was going to travel ok in the future. We didn't do very much filming, due to the horrific fly population, my parents and I cant remember them ever being this bad before! 2002 1hz Landcruiser 79...

We also have a 10 day trip to the Eastern Goldfields later this month, so be sure to stick around for that video! In the meantime we hope you enjoy Gecko's daily walk pics. If you wish to su...

The Canopy Mod
มุมมอง 23310 หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video we show you what went into modifying the TC Boxes canopy to suit our needs. We chose the TC Canopy as we felt it was the best built in its price range, however it didn't totally suit what we intend to do with the 79 series Landcruiser and future overlanding trips. We have a limited budget so we set out to make it suit us without spending too much. We still have a long way to go, w...

It's that time again to post our memories from the year. 2023 was certainly a mixed bag for us! We traveled further than we have shown you before, and went to some extremely remote places, but we also had rain, mud, breakdowns, and losses. We hope you enjoy this quick look back at the year that was. We also hope you continue to follow us in 2024 as we finish our 79 Landcruiser build and take Ge...

He looks super happy!🎉
@@Explore_oz he hates actual swimming, but splashing is great, regardless of weather!
Great dogs but here in America people get them because it's cool and don't know they are very active like Shepards
@@dannyeverette4551 they can be quite a handful if they don't have enough mental simulation.
we just binged this series and you have certainly opened up a world of exploring in WA. Loved the tracks and flip a coin ideas of where to next. East Arnhem land looks spectacular
Wa is such a huge state! We enjoyed arnhem land, but wouldn't do a special trip for it again, we would tie it in with other things in the state next time. It was a tough road, and the weather was not the best. Probably just pure bad luck!
@@cheetsoutnabout it seems to be the same this year also. We are hoping to do the Canning next year and might add on some of the areas you went to. Coming from the Sunshine Coast, it’s a matter of which way…hubby is a massive fan of anything Beadell
thanks for sharing how to travel safely with a dog. Loved the Gecko cam
Gecko is pretty proud of his camera skills. 😂
@@cheetsoutnabout 🤣 certainly gives me ideas with our kelpie and border collie. I also ordered some of the muzzles to start the training. Thanks for the info on the FB feed
@@wandering_off I've been building gecko for this since we got him as a puppy. So he makes it look easy. Patience and practise!

Great video! Thank you for using my song "Take Me Home"
@VinnyPereira Thankyou for making your music available for small creators like us!
@@cheetsoutnabout You are very welcome! Those sunsets you captured were amazing!
@@VinnyPereira awwww, thank you!
Becarful with Gecko there are a lot of 1080 baits around, I have lost a bitch blue heeler it's not nice,
@grantlucas6678 Thankyou for watching! I actually bought Gecko from a dogger, and we are very aware of, and support, baiting and trapping.
Awesome episode Gecko👍👍👍The Cheets did alright as well😁😁😁 Some great country we have out there, cheers for sharing🍺🍺🍺, Gecko is lov'n the outdoor life and seems to be handling the muzzle well 👍👍👍 I only seem to watch more Tube than I do tv except for the news so a 20 min episode for me is easy to watch, except if when my glass runs empty😁😁😁It's hard to cut a few days campn down to fit into a short vid, so let it roll I say🎥🎥🎥 I'm keen on the geocaching aswell 👍👍👍 Keep the awesomeness coming 👍👍👍 Cheer Andy 🍺🍺🍺
@offcampnandy7727 ahhh, I do love a fellow geocacher. Breaks up a trip for us. Altho I hate micros with a passion and often refuse to look for more than 5 minutes for one. 😂 You are right, it's so hard to trim down countless hours if footage to make a 20 Min episode, but it's also important not to make it too drawn out and boring for those who weren't there. I make big, long, and probably boring, videos for our home use.
@@cheetsoutnabout My vids are easy to edit, just cut as much drunk'ness out, boom ya have a vid 🤣🤣🤣
@@offcampnandy7727 🤣🤣🤣 I don't think you have as many cameras as I do.
Stunning video🎉
@@JenBolst thank you 🥰🥰
Jo and Co. This was an enchanting video. GechoCam worked well. Thank you all for letting us see some of the very nice places in WA. Just wondering how to get the tAn and NIS26 to NW WA!
@leeeldridge-p4d drive it! Thanks for your kind words Lee, the fall I mentioned actually had me in a lot of pain for a week or so, hence the sudden lack of footage afterwards. I damaged a tendon in my leg, as well as the swollen ankle. Gecko did so very very well, with his recording, wearing his muzzle, coping with lots of people wanting to pat him. 😂 Looking forward to getting him out and about a lot more!
Will look forward to your full episode. Found you on FB on Vantastic Aus post. Happy travels
@@twocoddiwompletravellers thankyou for taking the time to check out our Chanel!
Looks like a solid fit!
Pretty happy with it so far, but field testing will soon tell us if it's as good as it looks.
You make fantastic picture with dog!!!!
The dog loves having his photo taken.
Looks like a great trip. Assume this is a recent trip and I guess the rains out that way helped all the flies breeding like mad. Great video. Thanks.
Thankyou, yes, very recent, only got home a week ago. Flies, plus the place now a cattle station instead of sheep, like it was when I was a child, means flies are a much bigger problem. Heading off on another trip in June.
Great video legends! Looks like a fantastic shakedown trip. So keen to see more of your adventures :D
We hope to solve a few of the little issues before we had off again in a few weeks, but..... work keeps getting in the way!
Great trip for a shake down run 👍👍👍Awesome to see Gecko earning his camp badges 😀😀😀 Looking forward to your trips, keep the awesomeness coming 👍👍👍 Cheers Andy 🍺🍺🍺
Gecko is doing OK, he has never liked toileting anywhere but his own lawn, so we were prepared for that. Hopefully he relaxed more next trip. I need to hit you up for that chicken recipe from the other day too!
More film of the engine was needed
At the time, we hadn't intended to share the footage. If we were to go back I would do many things differently.
And the location you mentioned…..5:52 something bluff? Regards
Sykes bluff. Thankyou for watching!
Hi, what is the location at 5:40 please
Hanns table top hill is what it's marked as on Wikicamps.
nice music!
Finding music that doesn't have people complain is so hard! Thankyou for your lovely feedback. ❤️
Don't forget that blue dog!
He won't let us forget!
Hi guys just wondering if you travel with a satellite phone or emergency beacon when you travel remote? Really enjoying your videos. Travel safe out there.
We have a spot gen 4. Mostly so those at home can follow along. But it does have the plb built in should we need it.
That’s my when the kids have gone ute . Good tourer and tuff as.
Sadly it means we won't be able to take our grand kids on holidays with us. But a dual cab just wouldn't suit for the rest of the time.
One word. Landcruiser.
The new landcruisers are just as susceptible to contamination. Which is why we have bought an older vehicle. (But yes, it's a landcruiser) you will find clips on the new build on our page. Thanks for watching!
Gergory NP is a great spot and some great off road tracks. The Tvan handles all of the offroad stuff with ease. They will go anywhere the vehicle is capable of going and do it easily.
It was the last track we did with our Dmax. Hopefully we will get back one day.
@@cheetsoutnabout definitely worth getting back there as there is some great tracks in the park leading south from the homestead site. Not hard but fun to drive 😁
@Vantastic_Aus they were still closed after the rains which is why we skipped them last trip. Not sure when we will get back as the dog will now be travelling with us.
@@cheetsoutnabout Yes dogs do limit you when traveling, but they are good company on the road.
How was it with the trailer??
The section heading up the western side was slow, but no where near the worst we have dragged a trailer on. It was a relatively easy drive if you have some experience with outback tracks.
@@cheetsoutnabout amazing thank you. Always hard to know.. it’s a high clearance dot style camper. Great Ep
@@xploraus slow and steady is always the best approach to these things. The biggest issue was the river crossing. Walk it first so you know exactly where you need to go.
This is great information, looking at doing same trip in reverse later in the year and great to have some idea of the track.
Thankyou for watching! We touched on a small section of the gunbarrel again in 2023, and it honestly had not changed a bit! Have an awesome trip!
Beautiful country i love it out there, but be self-contained as no shops or any one out there .Very rough track dont do solo 2 cars atleast
We have done a lot of solo travel, but if you are not experienced, then yes, go with a friend.
Looks like the springs were Dobinsons and not Isuzu so no reflection on the D Max maybe.
No reflection on dmax at all, we loved it! It was very sad to see it written off.
Handy fella to have on board. Good job Dad.
Yes, he can hang around for a while longer! 😂
Awesome, cheers for sharing, been following your trips 👍👍👍 Cheers Andy🍺🍺🍺

nice work! That would have taken some time!
It wasn't the easiest project! 😂
Certainly worth it though.@@cheetsoutnabout Will make a huge difference.
Lots of hard work, but it's certainly going to be worth it!
It's the time needed to complete it more than anything.
That's true.@@cheetsoutnabout Slow process, but well worth it.
Lived over there and worked in the railways. Some truely scenic country out there if you know where to go.
There is so much to see , so little time!

Cool EP guys
Thankyou. The last track for our poor dmax! Will be interesting to see how the new build does next year when we get it finished.
Ok bugger Hope what you buy gives you a good run , We just have a old 1990- 1HZ n/a 80 series done 850,000ks now we will update it one day, @@cheetsoutnabout
The new build isn't the vehicle we bought in Kununurra, we have bought a 2002 79series
Awesome Ep guys to some lovely camp sites, , I towed my 5m tinny in there in April this year was still wet as buggery I stayed with my mate for for a couple weeks I had a ball seeing all the places around the area, and caught some awesome fish.
We hooked a couple but didn't manage to land any fish. Good to hear you did tho!
I went to Gunbarrel hwy last week, track was a bit tough last 300km of it. May i ask you which track was the worst of these, connie sue hwy, anne beadell hwy, gunbarrel hwy, gary jucntion & gary rd?? I’m thinking i ll go to Anne beadell hwy next year, is that bad as last 300km of Gunbarrel??
I can't speak for east of Neale Junction on the Anne Beadell, but the worst corrugations were probably on the gunbarrel. Gary had a few tight spots, but if pinstrips don't scare you it was nothing to be concerned about.
THANK YOU FOR ETAILED VIDEO
500 + ks is not unusual for a lot of Cruisers. Regular servicing is the key. Seen a few with 700+ & 1 in the NT had ticked over the mill...& he was winging about needing to replace an intake manifold. He got one of a wreck on a station for a carton. 😅
In all honesty, we were going to change over to an older cruiser in the next few years any way. The 105 will get sold once our 79 is fully set up. (We are also going to be seeking our farm in the next couple of years, big changes coming!)
Selling. Stupid auto correct! 😂
Hi Cus, just found you on here when I was surfing thru...Bugger the Dmax pegging out, and couldnt really have picked a worse spot. Glad it all worked it self out in the end. Did enjoy the video.....
Hi! We were fortunate that it happened within 40 km of Kununurra and not on one of the remote tracks. Glad you enjoyed the video, there are plenty of others, and we are planning next year's trip already.
Ok, Mrs and I planning to head off mid 2024 with the van, the one we had down at Lyn and Rileys last year, so maybe we catch you out and about or down in Manji on the way through... cheers bro..
Hi, new subscriber and enjoying your channel. I have a ‘14 Dmax and you have me worried now. I have a second fuel filter and am wondering whether it’s enough. Great that you’re back on the road
I've heard of depends on the micron of that filter, and how often you check it, but since we didn't have a second filter I can't really advise you on this.
You should use fuel doctor to guard against fuel contamination
I've never heard of that product, so you have a link I can check out?
I just had a flash back watching your post. See below
th-cam.com/video/yVnCAKkdfYM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=o8YiB_7zqrMVhny6
Awesome video! So sorry you too had to deal with a breakdown.
@@cheetsoutnaboutnah wasn’t me but I remember watching this guy in the kilt with identical problems outside Kunnarra
The yard we ended up at deals with a huge number of insurance claims daily. His hard is so full that you have to pay tetris to get anything in or out.
@@cheetsoutnabout whaaaaat!
Hi has your land cruiser got the 4.2 turbo intercool motor diesel do you find it a good tow vehicle
No, it's not a turbo motor, 4.2 naturally aspirated, so a tad slow, but it just chugged along.
Sorry to hear of you plight, but luckily insurance came through. The 105 500k is a fair milage is the engine original or rebuilt?. We were up in that area a month ago yeah fuel is a constant worry, but a prefilter unless a water model might have still given problems with a lot of water. We carry 3 fuel filters as spares in case. Safe travels 🙏
Australia as a whole, has a lot of issues with fuel contamination, and sadly, we had run put of time to install a prefilter before we left. It's important to remember that this issue could have occurred anywhere and not to point fingers at any fuel station in particular unless you have solid proof. (I've had many want me to name our fuel stops, and I wont) The 105 hasn't been rebuilt that we have been able to determine. It's just one of the good ones, doing what it was built to do. We have since bought our next touring vehicle, and once it's ready to go, the 105 will be up for sale.
@@cheetsoutnabout I Understand BP warrant their fuel ,I guy I know had issues they paid 100% but travelling often have to buy where u can. With prefilter would need checking often without a electronic warning. We have a LC 200 & I was draining the filter drain often to be sure but can only do so much.👍
Just another job to add to the prestart check list hey. 😂
Glad to hear you were covered by insurance and you were able to continue your adventure. Lesson learned: install a pre fuel filter.
Yes! A prefilter may have helped
What kinda dog do you have the shaggy haired one?
The hairy dog is a mix of border collie, staffy, great dane and wolfhound, he name is Bean and she belongs to our daughter.
Very beautiful. I had a dog that looked similar and never knew what kind it was.
She has the most amazing nature, very sweet and she adores her 2 yr old human.
