Every winter the City of Flagstaff closes off San Francisco Street for a weekend to host an urban ski and snowboard festival. The city and its sponsors truck in tons of snow, and build a slopestyle course right in the middle of downtown Flagstaff. This is what it looks like. Shoot 100% on GoPro Hero 3 and 3 cameras. The thing that confuses me is, how do you turn on the fuel for us who has never even seen this stuff. You turned something on and then pushed the button. We didn’t get to see that but I need step-by-step on how to do that because a lot of us don’t know.

    Mountain House adventure meals are pure garbage. I have tried many of them and no matter what I do they do not come out even remotely edible and they taste like pure garbage! Do not fall for people in these videos that say this s*** taste good!

    So the plastic lid can go on top while it’s boiling? I feel like it would melt. Also, snapping on the plastic cup afterwards on the bottom? Seems like the heat would melt the cup?

    • @BBOFlag
      @BBOFlag 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The lid is most definitely meant to be on, it makes the water boil faster. These plastics will not melt, they are intended to be used this way.

    • @grinkster

      He only had one burrito from the pack you probably can make 3-4. Also the Chicken Noodle Casserole comes with 3 servings and each serving is 90% of you daily sodium intake. That would be a good lunch for you.

    • @StevenTorrey
      @StevenTorrey 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@grinkster I cooked one of the REI (Home) meals; the calories are the same as would be found in Campbell's Chili-Mac--about 440. It made a small dish of meal (about the same size as a can might make) and it was filling and tasty, though I also had a side order of macaroni salad and bread. And of course, this would be an evening meal or noon-time meal.

    • @AlessioSangalli
      @AlessioSangalli 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you really need to have a meal during a 10 mile hike? I mean more than a sandwich or a bar... Just return home. Now, if you stay out for at least a night this setup is very good

  • @ateam6486
    @ateam6486 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    ummmm just so people know or understand basic things, if you measure out 1 cup, you lose water during the boiling process, so you need more water to boil that what it says, if it says 1 cup thats whats left after you boiled the water so do not start out with 1 cup thinking your going to end up with 1 cup of boiled water, and from what i find, yo need about 25% more water than it calls for,

    • @grinkster
      @grinkster 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      lol Its back country freeze dried food. Not making a chef meal in a 5 star restaurant. 5-50ml water loss ain't much. And I've put the exact same amount of boiled water into the same meal different times some have come out saucy some dry? From experience your post makes no sense.

    • @AlessioSangalli
      @AlessioSangalli 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I disagree, you lose very little and it makes absolutely no difference. Water is non critical in liofilized food anyway

    Not relying on potentially bloated manufacturer specs, in your experience, how many full pot boils can you make before the fuel canister is empty? With it getting hot enough to boil water so fast, seems like it would go through fuel fast, and there's no gauge to know how much is left.

    • @crazyobservations3080

      If you actually cook with a stove like that it could last a week three squares a day. just boiling water uses a ridiculous amount of fuel.
