Wow, there is something about this song, the way Malachi sang it, and people's reactions, that makes it apparent that we all long for something that is larger than us and better than us. All our souls (although some dont know it) yearn for eternity, for things to never end, and for a perfect, holy reality. And i want to remind everyone that this nostalgia is not in vain! This nostalgia exists becasue we are created by an eternal God, who is our Heavenly Father. He gave us eternal souls, which are not meant to die, but to live eternally, with God. This is why death is so heart wrenching, and so backwards, because we are not meant to die. But we die because death is the wages of sin. Death and destruction entered reality after the original sin committed by Adam and Eve. After that, all their offspring (us included) inherited a sin nature, making all humans to deserve death, physically and spiritually. But God loves us, in fact He loves us in this way, that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. Why should we believe in Jesus? Because He fullfilled not only Old Testament profecies, but He also fullfilled God's Law, and lived a sinless life, because He is God. This is why He was the blameless sacrifce, sufficient to pardon everybody from their sins. And Jesus rose from the dead 3 days after His death. Please read on it, read on the fullfilled profecies and His resurrection with an open mind. Run after God and seek Him, please dont spend one more second living without deciding to seek God, because living for anything else that is not God is in vain! If you seek the truth sincerelly, you will find it. I seeked the truth (by God's Grace) and it brought me to Jesus Christ my Lord and Saviour. And I have come to realize that there is nothing more true and real than Him. Yes, there is eternity, and no, things dont end after we die. But there is a Heaven and there is also Hell. So please make sure you are made right with God. And we are not righteous in God's eyes by the "good" works we do, because compared to God's holiness, even our best works look like dirty rags. But we are made righteous by repenting and turning to Jesus, and putting our faith in Jesus Christ. The good works are a result of this change of heart, and they are pleasing to the Lord, but not an instrument to bring us salvation. Because we are saved by grace alone, through faith.
