Class act right there.
Great job🎉
Excellent Capitan
Was there a few years ago when the humpback were in the bay feeding 30 yards offshore, and they were looking at us standing on the breakwater....an astonishing location
I saw a fishing boat trying to come in one rough night about 8:00PM in the winter. The water comes into the opening at a 45 degree angle...it wants to you into the rocks. When that boat came in the waves put it on the rock shelf on the south side of the opening...let it there and the next wave floated it and they back out and called the coast guard, who had to go out in choppy stuff and babysit them for several hours before coming into the harbor. It's the only lighted harbor entrance on the west coast.
He did everything right. Patient, waited for the right opportunity, then went for it.
Way to go.
Just a hole in the wall
There is no harbor
Des is da wahnsinn.
Oh my aaaggghhh. Thirty plus years ago I stood there and watched a couple of boats enter Depoe on a calm day. Then I lived & cruised on different sailboats for 30 years. This is now nightmare inducing 😂
Great skippering
I hate the PNW. I can't wait to outa here.
Shiver me timbers...that's tight!
The Coast Guard run a station out of Depoe Bay and if you ever get the chance to see one of their patrol boats negotiate the harbor from the seaward side it's quite a sight to see and a great look at some good seamanship.
Boring at first but cool video k
"One Flew Over the Coo Coo's Nest" has their fishing part filmed in this port. Its a small port and sometimes not very bumpy going in and out.
Wait offshore till a slack or incoming tide. Why take a chance?
Spot on!
Old lady was ovulating?
Those captains are stupid, we watched a boat full of people go out, then the coast guard ran out and escorted the boat back in
Current, rocks, wind and waves. like the cut of your jib mister.
The only job I'd be good at on either of these boats is to be the Chum Master. (I have frightfully bad motion sickness)
World's smallest harbor entrance!
Good job. High five!!!!! They are so experienced that you can trust them. We went out on a boat last year. Deck hands and Captain was very polite, shook our hand when we introduced ourselves. Some people just want your money, but these people are great. Looking forward to next year!!!
Yea, most of these guys are really good at handling their boats.
Now do that speed on an ebb tide with an 8 foot swell. Miami Vice style 😂
What kind of winds and is that flood tide?
Big balls great skipper
A wonderful. Job, Skipper! 👍
Real deal, not much room between the rocks!
Great work!
4:23 😅 the fish must be thick there 😆
Nice Sound!!
I love that sound.
Nicely done. Watched conditions for a minute just outside, picked his wave to come in on. Beautiful.
I've never seen anything so positively ridiculous!! That Captain had a crapload of occasions at which he could have motored his way right on in with no problem!!
How many times have you run a boat into that harbor? Please share!
Well larrylemp' have you had a good look at this inlet cause your comment sucks it's so tight under the bridge n with a good surf running no room for hero's you only fk it up once Massive respect to all the captain's n surf rescue boats coastguards who run out of there n their skill getting them back in a blow Alive.
@@kevincomery1634 I stand by my wonderful and sensible commentary!!
You still have not answered the question,10 months later, how many times have you piloted a boat into this harbor?@@larryslemp9698
Went Salmon fishing on this boat last week. Very nice boat and JT is a great captain!
Oh boy. If you are on a boat coming in or departing the harbor, hang on! It's a bumpy ride...,but fun!!
Those are beautiful engines. What kind of increase performance did you get over the cats you had in the boat? I love those Delta 50’ too. My dream to own one
My brother Steven Terrill with bobber down goes out of there or did.
You are the man Tyler!
The shits purrin
Super poder Caterpillar 3208 💪💪👍👍
Had the pleasure of going fishing on this vessel in May 2022, My husband and I had a great time. Captain Tyler and his crew are wonderful. If you are planning a charter trip, please ask for this captain and crew, if we go to Oregon again we will definitely go charter fishing again. It was great. We had a family outing in the Big Horn Mountains, Wyoming in August and we did a fish fry with all the fish we caught. DELICIOUS Thanks Randy and Jackie Rediker Cody, Wyoming
How can you be sure a boat isn’t exiting the harbor as somebody’s trying to enter? Can boats pass each other through here?
Its not recommend because of how unstable the tides are. Ive been to Depoe Bay many times in my life, and the weather is either calm or chaotic; mostly chaotic. The waves can get so rough I've literally gone airborne for a few seconds while whale watching. Unless the tides are calm and still, boats have to radio the harbor to make sure no boats are coming in or out of the bay.
The older Delta fishing be boats where great
That was some crap camera work! Talk about missing the money shot.
Sketchy...
Yeah...eff all that.
Not educated on this type thing but that looked pretty smooth
Master class on view. Nice work skipper...rather you than me though. A beast of an entrance.
